Another great book from Cressida, you can never go wrong with her books. A female ends up taking a singles holiday to a beautiful small town in Cornwall. What will happen, will she follow her dreams or will everything fall flat on its face ? You will have to read this to find out. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for another read from Cressida. 5 stars

Very enjoyable story set in a beautiful sounding location in Cornwall.

Thea comes to Cornwall on holiday on her own, after her friend had to drop out because of work commitments. But Thea also has an ulterior motive coming to the little village of Port Karadow as she wants to open her own book shop, which has been a dream of hers for years, and she also wants to look at suitable properties.

Once there she meets the owner of the house next door, Ben, and after a slightly awkward start they become friends and, along with a couple of Ben's friends, who also become Thea's friends, they start going around with each other for meals, BBQ competitions, etc., and Thea starts feeling really at home and sure she's made the right decision, but she just needs to find somewhere for her bookshop now.

A really lovely feeling book set in Cornwall, a perfect summer read.

Can I please live in the Cornish Cream Tea world?

I don't know how Cressida McLauglin manages to keep her Cornish Cream Tea series fresh after six books. It keeps going strength to strength. I just love the depth and personality of her characters. These are people with real issues or past events that trouble them which is hugely relatable without being too much of a downer. I think this is where McLaughlin's writing talent shines - characters with real heart. What I also find refreshing is she doesn't just create barriers and obstacles for the sake of manufacturing drama, the developments of the plot unfold logically via the characters.

Make a cuppa, grab some scones, cream and jam and tuck into this book. It truly is a treat.

Thea was looking forward to a Cornish escape with her best friend, but when Esme drops out Thea finds herself flying solo! Arriving at her holiday cottage, armed with her bucket list of must do activities, Thea is a little disappointed to discover a building site next door.

Determined not to let the noise or the grumpy builder ruin her holiday mood, Thea sets about ticking things off her list. But she soon realises that she might have bitten off more than she can chew with her solo seaside escape.

But when the locals take Thea under their wing, she begins to see Port Karadow and herself in a whole new light and begins to wish she could stay longer than her intended 3 weeks.

Having lived in Cornwall my whole life up until very recently, I love losing myself in McLaughlin’s fictional counterpart. Initially, I wasn’t enamoured with the change in location when the previous instalment came out, but I feel with this new novel I warmed to Port Karadow more. I think this was helped by the summer setting opposed to Christmas. Cornwall is magic in the sunshine, not so much in the cold mizzle! (Note: That's what we Cornish call that really light rain that gets you absolutely soaked!)

The cast of characters in this story were hugely likeable and I found it somewhat refreshing that it was the male protagonist suffering from a hard past and trust issues whilst our leading lady was determined and focussed come what may.

This is the perfect read for the beach, sun lounger or sofa, if the British summertime doesn’t deliver! Great series but equally so as a standalone read. Highly recommend.

It is time again to pour yourself a cup of tea, butter a warm scone (I prefer a sultana one), add some jam and clotted cream, and curl up with the latest book in the Cornish Cream Tea series. The series started with the Cornish Cream Tea bus (which does make brief reappearance), but many of the locations and people in the new book also featured in the previous book, Christmas Carols and a Cornish Cream Tea.

However, this book could easily be read as a stand alone book, with the main characters being new to the series. Thea is a library assistant who dreams of opening a bookshop in a place in Cornwall she enjoyed visiting as a child. I loved how her love of books shone through the story.

Thea spends three weeks in Cornwall learning about herself, the local community and her grumpy neighbour, Ben. The story includes bats, a dog, cream teas, meals out, a storm, new friendships, romance and an old post office, in need of a new life.

This book was the perfect way to escape the real world, to read about dreams involving bookshops and how a community will work together to help make a dream come true. Happy to recommend this virtual visit to Cornwall to my book review blog readers.

The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday is book number 5 in the Cornish Cream Tea series but it was the first one that I had read. This didn't spoil the enjoyment of the book at all but now I know that there are more of them to read I can go back to the start and read them all - what's not to love about that?!

There's a big move on the cards for the main character Thea but plenty of barriers are put in her way. A solo holiday turns into a life altering tie for Thea and the potential for love is on the cards.

The book was fun, lighthearted and a perfect summer read for anyone that loves a romance. I highly recommend it!!

5 stars from me *****

The Cornish Cream Tea series captures my heart again. This book is part of a series but you don't need to read them in order and can be read as standalones.

I fell in love with Port Karadow from page 1. Its a gorgeous read with perfectly descriptive surroundings and it makes me want to visit Cornwall tomorrow.

As with the other books of Cressida's I've read, this is a wonderful feel good book with plenty of laugh out loud moments and some that make you shed a little tear.

I loved my visit to The Cornish Cream Tea series and can't wait to return.

I have read another Cornish cream tea story which got me hooked, and I was glad to see a few known characters make their appearance in this book!
This story is heartwarming, I absolutely love the setting in the small seaside town of Port Karadow. Beautiful landscape descriptions which make you feel you are on holiday there too :-) The plot is typical for a rom-com but avoids being annoyingly too predictable.

Charming, fun and lighthearted, this is a perfect read for the holiday!

Thank you to the publisher who provided me with an e-copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

It was wonderful to be back along the Cornish coast again. Ben and Thea are a wonderful couple and I really enjoyed being a fly in the wall to their story. Ben gave Thea so much support and confidence without even realising it and Thea gave him his sense of happiness and well being that he had lost along the way. I loved all the little sly smiles and jokes and watching Finn and Meredith having fun at Bens expense. The cameo from Charlie and Daniel was great too, I loved seeing all the old familiar characters.
A beautiful read from start to finish.

It appears that this is book 6 in the series and I hadn't read any of the others, I don't think it made a huge difference, there was A LOT of descripton which always puts me off as I feel its just filler, but saying that it was a good read, not what i would call a "page turner" but very nice.

I always enjoy our Cornish Adventures, and this book didn't disappoint, Thea's journey to trying to open her childhood dream of a book shop.

I really enjoyed watching the Friendship develop Between Thea, Ben, Finn and Meredith. this book has a real feel good factor, unreally hope we can re visit the future and see how things have developed along the way

Ahhh, this has to be my favourite book of the year so far.
I adored reading about Thea’s story from start to finish and cannot find fault, other than it ended when I could have continued reading chapter after chapter - I would have loved an epilogue with the bookshop opening, but that is just me being greedy. This book is summer reading at its most perfect.
It was so lovely to ‘meet up’ with some old Cornish cream tea friends who pop up in this book, but it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone … but I would wholeheartedly recommend reading the series as they’re all divine.
Once again Cressida McLaughlin has written an absolute delight with Cornish cream on top.

Perfect escapism. I love Cressida’s books and this is no exception. I was transported to the beautiful beaches and scenery of Cornwall, and wanted nothing more than to sit on the sea wall and eat fish and chips! The blossoming relationship between Thea and Ben was well written and executed. It had the right level of comedy, awkwardness and sexual chemistry. As a fellow book lover I could totally understand Thea’s passion and dream of opening her own bookshop, and what a perfect place for her dream to come true. If only I could visit it and take in the history of the old Post Office! Good luck to Thea, Ben and Scooter and thank you Cressida for another fabulous story that helped me escape the real world for a while!

This was my first book of this series. I actually hadn't realized it was part of a series and number 6, even! But it really made no difference as it can be read and ejoyed perfectly as a stand alone.

Beautiful, beautiful landscape descriptions bring you and immerse you in delightful Corwall, such a treat!

The plot is maybe a bit predictable, but not in a bad way, it's just the way you want the storyline to evolve. The characters are nice and their interactions are very funny.

Definitely recommended for rom-com lovers in their 20s to early 40s.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another fabulous, fun and uplifting installment in the delightful Cornish Cream Tea series. These books are such a joy, they make me want to move to the Cornish coast, and I'm not even a huge fan of the sea! Loved it.
With grateful thanks to Netgalley, HarperCollins UK and Cressida McLaughlin for my advance copy of the ebook in exchange for an honest review.

It is always good to be back in Cressida McLaughlin's Cornwall and this was no exception. It's a perfect summer read, and I read the last half of it in one sitting in a few hours in my garden on a nice early evening, and it calmed me down from being furious about stuff earlier in the day.

So definitely a relaxing read too, and it really summed up summers days in Cornwall so well.

Set in Port Karadow so close by to the more familiar Porthgolow, it is a book filled with cameos of familiar characters from the Cream Tea Bus books, and being able to catch up with Finn and Meredith from the fifth book was a joy too.

It is though a completely standalone story, so please don't worry if you haven't read the previous five amazing books in this series.

So we have Thea who has come away on holiday, but also has her mind on her future and making her dreams come true. She is staying next door to builder Ben, who is renovating his own home and clearly running from something himself.

They are fabulous at being able to distract each other and it soon feels as though Thea is really getting to grips with her holiday, and with Ben helping her, I loved seeing Cornwall through her eyes.

And with new friends, there is a beach BBQ competition to tantalise the taste buds, as well as a sandcastle competition, not to mention typical touristy activities. When I think of Thea's first day on holiday, to how she develops over the course of her stay, I can't help but feel proud of her!

This was a joy to read, I absolutely love this author and this was another top not bit of writing from her. I loved every second of this story, and didn't want it to end. I felt as though I was in Cornwall with the characters, and loved the immersion I had in this fabulous story.

Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

As always I eagerly await a new release from Cressida McLaughlin, especially from her Cream Tea collection! This had a beautiful setting (as per) and I found myself relating to the main character Thea more than I expected.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely ADORED this latest instalment in the Cornish cream tea series. It might even be my favourite so far. The gorgeous descriptions of Cornwall, the familiar characters, the new characters, the spooky references - omg the lighthouse scene! - I loved it all! Thea and Ben were just perfection together. Just a perfect Summery bit of escapism - I’ll be recommending this to everyone!

The Cornish Cream Tea series is my ultimate favourite comfort series, and this latest instalment just confirms my adoration for it.

It’s wholesome, it’s romantic and it’s just absolutely perfect. Mclaughlin is the queen of Cornish romance. As a bonafide Cornwall lover all my life, I can confirm the imagery in this book is spot on and you’re transferred to the dreamy coves of Cornwall.

Two things I particularly adored in this book:
1) The food references. I was practically salivating nearly on a page by page basis.
2) The book references. Such a personal touch and if you too are a bibliophile like the main character Thea, you will relate to her in no time.

The romance part of the book was just gorgeous. I don’t want to give spoilers but the pairing of the characters was *chefs kiss*

Thank you Cressida McLaughlin for another Cream Tea triumph. I cannot wait for the next instalment!

Perfect holiday read to pick up and lose yourself in all that the idyllic Cornish coast has to offer in Summer.
Introducing some new characters and settings alongside some familiar regulars from the other Port Karadow books, this is certainly one you can read standalone and still enjoy completely.
I loved how in this story Ben is the one that has a tough history and is the more uptight and untrusting of the two, it was interesting to read this dynamic and how Thea arrives on her holiday already armed with a determined plan & a realisation dawning on how she wants her own future to look.
One to pack in your staycation luggage definitely
