The premise of the story was a bit farfetched with the connection to Elvis, however I did like the characters & enjoyed the storyline

I had to request this book when I saw the cover and noticed the connection to the king, Elvis Presley, but I think my hopes were too high. The romance was sweet, the connection between generations of flower named women was also heartwarming but it felt a little slow to me and I had a hard time continuing to read it while getting sidetracked with other books.

Easy, quick read which you will enjoy if you like Elvis. Really enjoyed this book and would recommend.

Daisy travels to Memphis to try to uncover the truth about her Grandmother Rose's deathbed confession - Daisy's mom was the daughter of Rock n Roll legend Elvis Presley! While in Memphis, Daisy visits Graceland, meets some characters from Rose's past, and eventually uncovers the truth about her biological Grandfather.

This was a fun read with lots of kitschy facts about Memphis, Elvis Presley and of course, Graceland. It was an entertaining read that was a nice pallate cleanser between heavier reads. I really enjoyed the tour through Memphis while reading the book and also enjoyed some of the side characters throughout the novel.

This isn't a book that I'd scream from the rooftops about but it's definitely a fun read that I would recommend to someone looking for pure entertainment. Or, of course, any Elvis diehards out there.

Suzan Holder’s Rock ‘n’ Rose is a wonderful book about family secrets, following your dreams and finding out who you really are packed with atmosphere, drama, emotion and humour. Suzan Holder has written a fantastic story that will resonate with readers who never quite fitted in and Rock ‘n’ Rose is sure to inspire them to be more accepting of themselves and to always march to the beat of their own drums – regardless of what anyone else says!

An engrossing and enjoyable read from a writer to watch out for, Suzan Holder’s Rock ‘n’ Rose is a poignant and life-affirming tale that is hard to resist.

I really enjoyed Holders Shake it Up, Beverley as a huge Beatles fan, and while I’m not a devout Elvis fan, I was still quite looking forward to reading this book. I really enjoyed all the trivia and tidbits about Elvis, his family, songs and career. I found myself listening to Elvis songs while reading, and looking up info online of things I hadn’t heard of - like the infamous Jungle Room! Thanks to Holder for another fab reading experience, looking forward to another music-themed book very soon.

I thought this was lovely story that really pulled me in right away. I was drawn to the family and their story. I thought the author did a great job describing the setting too.

This is a quick read and very enjoyable I liked all the Elvia references was interesting to read about him.

Daisy is very close to her Grandmother Rose and they love everything rock n roll. Rose confesses that Daisy’s Mum Lillian is the daughter of Elvis. This is where the story ends up in Memphis where Daisy meets lots of people and tries to discover if Rose was telling the truth.

I liked the characters and some of the book was funny but also sad. The book certainly made me want to read on and discovers what happens.

I throughly enjoyed this novel. In fact, it’s one of the few lately that has held my attention throughout the entire story. While I could see a few things coming, I never felt like rushing though it. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

When Daisy’s beloved grandmother, Rose, makes a startling confession Daisy feels she needs to get the truth. Was Rose really pregnant with Elvis Presley’s love child?
This was a sweet story but a little slow for me. That said it will appeal to plenty.

This book was so cute. A journey of self discovery, where Daisy finds love in Memphis while trying to uncover her family history. I really enjoyed all of the 1960’s references and music and song mentions. A fun, romantic, light read.

Overall, I really liked this book and would 10/10 recommend it to anyone that loves music and romance.

With a hugely likeable main character in Daisy, Rock ‘n’ Rose takes you on a tour of Memphis and the home of Elvis, while exploring the theme of lost love and missed opportunities.

This was definitely my type of humour too; it flows easily within the writing and I knew early on when I read the line ‘Any musical, literary or historical references would land with a deafening thud in conversations’ about ‘Huge Hugh the Hunk’, that there were going to be plenty of moments to make me smile.

An enjoyable, easy read.

A heartwarming, bittersweet novel about love, loss and family secrets. This story isn't my usual genre but I adored the narrative. Being from a different generation I found this book demonstrated what that time was like beautifully.
Also, I think it's a lovely novel to reminisce with if you were a child/adult of that era.
I loved how this book was written, the family dynamics/issues are dealt with sensitively.
I definitely want to read more @suzholder15 in the future.

Today, is my spot on a blog tour with Rachel’s Random Resources for Suzan Holder’s Rock’n Rose. I read this heartwarming novel as an ebook for the blog tour and I’m so happy I got to read this. The story follows Daisy, Roses’s granddaughter who travels to Memphis and Graceland to find about her mysterious grandfather. Just like her grandmother, Daisy too finds love in Memphis. I loved the quirky characters in this novel, and taking a trip to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, via this delightful novel. I loved the 1960s references, and all the music and song mentions. This novel made perfect reading for me.
Elvis, of course, had sadly died before I was born, but my mother adored all of his films and music. I was brought up watching Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Elvis Presley films. Viva Las Vegas is still my favourite. We had a record player and a ton of Elvis, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra records, so I can really relate to Daisy. I loved Rock’n Roll music and learned to dance Jive in ballroom lessons. I’d love to visit Graceland one day, so reading all about Elvis and his amazing home has been a real treat.
I loved discovering a new author whose writing style I love, I also like the character development, and getting to know the characters as the story unfolds. It was a beautifully written novel about love, loss, family and the King of Rock’n Roll of course. This was such a great read, and I cannot wait to read more novels by Suzan Holder in the future. I’m giving this novel 5 stars as I really loved Rock’n Rose and I know that other readers will love it too, especially if they are Elvis fans like me.

First, I love a story of family connections and roots, and this one is rich in a granddaughter-grandmother relationship. Next, when musical history is included, I am there. So much history of Elvis Presley and the music of the 50s and 60s is part of the story. Finally, setting and locale is everything for me. Beginning in Wales, the musical theme becomes even deeper as the narrative moves to Memphis, a city steeped in rock and blues heritage, as well as important Civil Rights history. Graceland, Sun Studio, Beale Street,
and the Martin Luther King Memorial, all included in the book, are landmarks that I visited upon traveling to Memphis myself.

The cover of this book totally called to me. And, then, when I found out that it involved Elvis, I was ready to go.

I realized that this would be a quirky story within the first few pages. Daisy has always felt like she was a throwback to the 1950s and dressed to reflect this. Rose, her grandmother had been a teenager during the 1950s and somehow her mind stays in the era. Lillian is the generation in between, Rose's daughter, and Daisy's mother. She tries to keep reality in their lives. When Rose is on her death bed she confesses that Elvis Presley could be Lillian's father. And, so it begins.

Daisy embarks on a trip to Memphis to see if she could discover any truth to Rose's claim. We follow Daisy on her adventure. There is a lot for her to discover in Memphis besides Graceland, even a bit of a romantic interlude. I can't help but cheer her on, hoping she finds what she is looking for. She does get closure, and more!

This is a fun book to read. A little bit quirky (as is Daisy), a little bit of adventure, a little bit of fantasy. I love the descriptions of Memphis and Graceland. I have seen it myself, I enjoy revisiting it.

A couple of the side stories involving secondary characters did not add anything to the story. They just took up extra space.

There were a few “inserts” throughout the book referencing Elvis's history. Some of the facts were known, others were new to me. These parts were interesting to me, and they fit well with the story.

I enjoyed the book, it was quick, entertaining and light. A sweet story.
