I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, quick and easy read full of loveable characters and 'aww' moments. Would definitely recommend.

Oh I so wanted to enjoy this one more and honestly I did to start with, in fact I loved the beginning but then it all just went a bit weird for me. The story meandered off into all these other sub-stories within the main story which left me not only a bit confused but also unfortunately bored.

I wanted the fun and liveliness of the beginning of the story back, the characters I had met and loved, I wanted them back too. Instead I was taken down a rabbit hole of an old man looking for his first love and as much as i love historical fiction, this random storyline just didn't hold my attention.

I'm sure many people will love this one, unfortunately it strayed too far from the synopsis for me.

Thank you Net Galley for an ARC One Night With You. This was so cute!! Why did I wait so long to read this one! I loved The chemistry between the main characters.

This was not what I was expecting.. the description made it sound like the book would take place over the course of a single night and instead you get 20 pages of a single night and then suddenly they are in love and pining for the next year. I was bored. So very bored and when I thought I had read a hug chuck, I would look.down and realise I was only at 10% done with the book..

One Night with You by Laura Jane Williams, a NetGalley read. Ruby is about to leave London, after a bad relationship and wanting to have a year of finding herself, however she doesn’t factor in meeting Nic. Nic has just moved to London after a coming out of a long term relationship and he doesn’t factor in meeting Ruby. A will they won’t they story, asking the bigger question of is it meant to be. This is a new author for me and I wasn’t disappointed however the enjoyment and overwhelming love for this book snuck up on me with each turn of the page. This is an unassuming story, undoubtedly an easy read, yet it packs a punch, will have you hooked and head over in heals in love with it before the end and you will be left with a book hangover. There were parts of this book early on in which I thought what is going on, what relevance has this got to do with everything else that is going on in the book. For example the story involving JP and his search for his long lost love but keep reading it all pulls together and makes sense. I loved and was fascinated by the dynamics of this friendship group, a group of very different friends but are like family to each other and are all on there own paths. Each one of them has a honesty, vulnerability and rawness about them and as a result it feels real. It’s not the best book I’ve read this year, yet it’s one that I won’t forget reading simple because it surprised me how much I enjoyed reading and the fact that it did leave me with a book hangover. Im a great believer in things happen because that’s the way things are meant to be and that’s not always easy to believe and sometimes only in hindsight but for me I think this is the pull for me, the thing that grabbed my heartstrings and got me hooked. I will without question be recommending this book and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed this romance set in London and can use it with my students. It made me laugh and swoon as well as showed life in a new location, if brief.

Told from the perspective of both Ruby and Nick. We begin the story with Ruby leaving London and Nick just arriving, after buying a sofa from Ruby, Nick ends up hanging out with Ruby and her flat mates. Instant attraction and a sense of abandonment by them both leads them to spend a steamy night together. They then get on with their lives but with each other in the back of their minds. I loved both of the main characters. Nick being the perfect “nice guy” and Ruby being a somewhat relatable girl next door type.

Written impeccably by Williams (no surprise), it’s engaging and the use of technology/media makes it different from any romance I’ve read before. There are a few different sub-plots going on, my favourite being around JP and the search for “his girl”. I’m a sucker for history being brought into it, and I loved his character.

This is a cosy, heartfelt read. The perfect romance story that felt both modern and classic. Loved it!

"Love. Love cures everything. Love is preventative. Love is."

One Night With You is told from both Ruby and Nick's perspectives, who meet on her last night and his first night in London when he picks up her sofa. The pair have an instant connection and spent one magical night together before going their separate ways. However, they keep in touch and fate continues to bring them back together. But are they ready for forever?

First, let me just say that I really liked Nick. He was the epitome of a nice guy: a little bit awkward, very kind and completely smitten with Ruby. I could completely relate to his fresh start in the city and how it changed him. On the other hand, I could also relate to Ruby finding herself in Manchester. I loved their poetic texts back and forth and their ease around one another.

There were some great supporting characters too, like JP and Jackson. I mean, JP's entire storyline was a highlight, let's be real. Finally, I really liked the audiobook narrators (sucker for an English accent, what can I say).

My one main critique was that I felt there were too many underdeveloped storylines and subplots and at one point, there was a haphazard dropping of bombshell after bombshell that affected the story's flow for me.

Great read that reminded me of one of my favourite movies, Sliding Doors! I loved the characters and the premise. Fantastic to be able to read the story from both the main characters point of view. More than just a romance, this book touched on so much more! Easy to read and funny as well as touching. Definitely a must read.

Ruby’s leaving London for an exciting opportunity in a new city which landed at the perfect time. Nic is moving to London. After a bad break-up, he’s excited to see where big-city life could take him. When a chance meeting throws the pair of them together for just one night, it’s clear that this could be the start of something special. But there’s one problem: she’s leaving, and he’s just arriving. So, after tonight, they’ll never see each other again . . . will they?

I absolutely adored this book! Very will they or won't they vibes that kept me guessing. Ruby and Nic tiptoe around their feelings until they can't fight them any longer. Such a great and cute summer read.

Laura has knocked it out of the park once again with One Night With You. The perfect summer romantic read, for someone looking for a book with some substance. Supported by the dual point of view, it was really easy to root for both Ruby and Nic. The pace could have been quicker to really draw me in, but I appreciated the inclusion of the technology used to date today to move things along and keep me interested. I eagerly await what comes next from this author, as her books have become a staple of my summer reading lists!

'One Night With You ' by Laura Jane Williams 4.5 stars
The book follows Nic and Ruby after they made a connection during a one-night stand but the problem is that Nic is coming to London while Ruby is leaving. Both trying to reset their lives.
This book was cute, their chemistry and banter were unmatched. The friendships gave the book a great balance, the friends were great side characters and really helped with character development. Ruby and Nic had storylines by their self but they crossed since it was a dual point of view. You got to see their feelings, their backstories, and their struggles which were real and honest. I really liked this book, the romance had me from the start so I was hooked on the book but the ending although it was real, I didn't like it very much, felt really open like I need to see how it really ends.
Thanks, NetGalley for the arc.

Lovely story with characters who are easy to fall in love with. Enjoyable from start to finish! Compelling writing with such a good plot.

I love Laura Jane Williams, but this book, woah. I have mixed feelings. The beginning had me on such a high. I loved the instant attraction and flirtiness between Nic and Ruby. But following their journey was like watching a slow motion train wreck. I got whiplash from the will-they-won't-they back and forth. Just get together already- you know you're meant to be!! I have to say- I LOVED the poems that Ruby and Nic exchanged in their texts. So utterly adorable (as was the LARPing date!)!

The author has a wonderful way of writing and creating brilliant characters, especially the supporting crew. JP was a top notch man and I loved his insight into life and life. Jackson was the best kind of friend and I loved his personality. Harry was the perfect new friend on the scene turned forever friend.

I enjoyed the dual point of view. It's always fun to read the thoughts of both main characters!
