I loved this book (as I knew I would) from the start.

A new story of love, family secrets and lies that split a family 15 years previously.

I love the interaction of past characters, bringing them to life once again and remembering their stories with fondness and love.

A book you will love from cover to cover and once again a wonderful read from Phillipa Ashley.

I have read all of Phillipa Ashley books and love them all, this is no exception. It is Emma and Luke's story about finding each other after 15 years, but they have bad history so all is not plain sailing. I love her books they are a great escape. Highly recommended

It took me a few sittings to get through this book but I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Easy to follow and pick up and put down. A great summer read for on the beach.

Another thoroughly enjoyable read by Philippa Ashley, the third book set in the Cornish village of Falford.

The two main characters are Emma and Luke who were very good friends as teenagers but a feud between their families led to Emma moving away.

Years later, Emma returns and stays in her old friend Maxi's lodge. Falford being the perfect place for inspiration for her latest art commission. Unbeknown to her, Luke has returned to live in the village. Will they meet up again?

Fabulous as always, I really enjoyed reading about Emma and Luke in their past and present. Ursula was a great character. The twists and turns kept me reading until the very end. Read in a couple of days as I wanted to see what happened!

Totally loved this book it drifted along in such an enjoyable way. Loved the beach clean up angle very topical. Great main character's with great back stories you learn on the way. Drama, love, family and friendship I couldn't put it down. Brilliant

Phillips Ashley books always have that special something that pulls you in so you can picture the places and people. Although I loved the two main characters Ursula was my firm favourite, a tough exterior but very protective of her friends. The part where Ursula gets into difficulties had me reading faster, it was so well written and I had everything crossed she would be ok. Who couldn’t love Daisy when she wanted to look for Kweetures and her brother Arlo who had so much energy

There is so much in this book, a dolphin rescue, seaglass jewellery, beautiful artwork and a home at the Old Chapel. Plus feuding families and treasure and yes I would definitely recommend it

Thank you netgalley for this early read. Emma has returned back to her childhood village after the sad death of her estranged father. She’s tiptoeing around whilst working on an art commission for a book. Aww bumps in to all manner of petiole from her past including her first love Luke. She nursing a broken heart and grieving and reliving some of her past. Living in her best friend Maxi’s summer lodge she begins to feel herself immersed back into her past.
This is a lovely summery read. I only wish I was sat by the pool with a pina colada.

I've loved my return to Falford and beautiful Cornwall. Like all the other books in this series, it's peopled with warm, empathetic, well sketched characters one immediately feels invested in. Full of yearning, the joys and pains of first love , the eternal Romeo and Juliette torn apart by their families conflicts, Emma and Luke find each other again and get a second chance at love, back where their story began, amid the wild Cornish landscape and the people who love them. It's been a joy catching up with friends made in the earlier books and to see their lives entertwining around the new characters. Loved this !

Brilliant, amazing and loving

I loved this book it's so brilliant just reading it you can imagine being there on the coast.
With the beach combers and helping them. Clean the beach.
I'm so glad every thing worked out in the end for everyone.
I wish I could see some of the sea glass jewellery usella makes and the pictures Katie paints.

Absolutely wonderful. The perfect escape to Cornwall to revisit the picturesque fishing village of Falford. I enjoyed it so much I really didn’t want it to end.

A golden Cornish summer is perfect summer read, true escapism based in idyllic Falford the perfect location full of Cornish charm!
A long standing family feud, deep set resentment, history, long lost love and second chances make for an entrancing read that I didnt want to end!
Emma returning to her childhood home meets her old first love Luke in rather an unconventional way, this stirs up unresolved desires and feelings for the pair of them but too much time and history has passed in the intervening years, how can you move on from a long standing despite between the two families, hidden treasure and long buried secrets.
Good friends,forgiveness, idyllic settings and truth and honesty along with a fabulous community spirit doing good for the environment, softens Emma’s previously closed character and allows Luke to reconnect with her!
Brilliant characters, great plot absolutely loved it!

I was so excited to receive this book - another in the Falford series and it didn’t disappoint. Old characters reappeared and the usual array of new introductions and a gripping story. The premise of feuding families was perfect and whilst I liked the two leads, Emma and Luke, my absolute favourite character was Ursula. I loved her growing friendship with Emma. One drawback, however, was I bought a sea glass necklace and earring set after being inspired by the book. Please let’s have more set in this wonderful community.

There are times when you read a book and just don't want it to end and this was just such a book. I loved it from beginning to end. It was beautifully written and you could just imagine being there on the seafront with the beautiful location of Silver Cove. I loved how the story unfolded especially the bit about the treasure and the effect it had on the families involved. It was so very funny at times and also heartbreaking. A really wonderful read.

I have mixed feelings about this book - the premise is very good - feuding families and lost treasure has a kind of Romeo & Juliet or West Side Story vibe too it. I loved the setting and the beautiful lodge, Falford seems like a magical place.

What I didn’t like however is I found the whole thing a little anti-feminist and uncomfortable. Firstly Emma’s teacher Ms Bowen treated Emma abhorrently in her school years, abusing her position of power because she was angry that a teenage girl was not treating her boyfriend as she believed he should be treated. If an adult in a position of power treated a student unfairly because of her romantic entanglements then she should have been reported, no? Secondly, Emma is referred to as the ice maiden because she wasn’t forthcoming with her emotions and seemed cold towards people. This is awful! Just because she doesn’t display what has been deemed the correct level of emotion she is treated badly by the people who are supposed to care for her? That doesn’t seem right at all. I loved the idea of the story but the characters fell short for me.

I really enjoyed this book, I've read the author's other books that are also set in Falford so this felt like going on holiday to somewhere familiar, the sights and the people feel like a second home. That's part of the magic that Phillipa Ashley always creates, a feeling of warmth and comfort that imbues her books. I really loved the additional intrigue in this story, with the history of smugglers and hidden treasure creating a backdrop to the modern day dramas and romance. This was a delightful read and I hope there will be more books set in Falford in the future!

This story is pure escapism and bliss! The cover is cheery and bright and the pages sparkle! I don't usually read books of this type (romance) but needed something uplifting and cozy and this book certainly delivered. Highly recommended if you are longing for magical summer escape.
