Another good start of a new fantasy series: it's a bit slow at the beginning and confusing at times but it's also fascinating and full of promises for a new exciting series.
I enjoyed it and want to read the next book.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Unfortunately I just couldn't finish this book. I'm sure it will suit other readers but it just wasn't for me

With Gods and mortals living together it was never going to be easy, after the majority of the world being taken over by the Anazat the monk who fought for the One!

The One! who will be the worlds saviour who is neither male / female, who's father tried to kill them when they were born, has been brought up in hiding and secret until the age of sixteen.

Will they be the saviour or will they continue with the annihilation of towns and cities all over the world.

This is a great story at some points it does get slightly confusing due to having so many characters to keep up with, was really surprised how the story ended (sorry but need to put that in!).

Also look forward to how book 2 might start.

The Wars of Gods and Men is the final installment of Chris Humphreys Immortal's Blood series.

The triology is about four devided lands, three ruled by an immortal elite regarded as gods and one ruled by various tribes of men. These tribes unite under the prophecy of "The One", a child named Poum that is neither male nor female, and start to conquer the world and slay the immortals.

This book starts approx. 15 years after events in "The Coming of the Dark".
Poum has grown up on a secluded mountain with his mother and siblings after being rescued as an infant by the crippled norse god Luck. While the struggle between gods an men continues it is time for him to re-join civilisation, see the deeds that have been done in his name, take a side and find a place for himself in this new order.

The story is compelling and flows at a good pace. There were no obvious plot holes through the whole series and a multitute of faceted characters and unique ideas, such as the drug taking human form Sirene, to keep my interest. The book is an interesting mix of fantasy, mythology and moral tale with an innovative take on the fantasy genre.

*Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

"The Wars of Gods and Men" starts slowly, but promises much for the rest of the series. The basic story is a brilliant idea and the writing is great. I felt some of the dialogue between characters in the early stages wasn't needed and was a little bit frustrating. This is an enjoyable read though, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

My thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own, unbiased, opinion.

This book sucked you and refused to let you go! I finished this book in approximately three sittings. At first I didn't like it because there was too much dialogue and not enough back story but eventually the style of writing grew on me. The universe created by the author was rich and entertaining. The characters and their stories and back stories were a richly woven tapestry of history, politics, beauty, love and adventure. All of the elements I look for in a good fantasy/adventure novel.
