Great story. Enjoyed the authors style of writing. I was invested in the characters, and I cannot wait to read more books from the author in the future.

This one is quite a slow burn. A little too slow at times. There is lots of tension and suspense though for the first half of the book at least. It loses its way a little after that. If it had been a little faster paced, it would have been a great read.

Wow! You never really knew who was guilty you questioned everyone. It was so great and kept you guessing until the end. Turns out everyone is guilty of something! I loved it!

This book is one that most mystery books fans will really enjoy.

Extremely slow burn that just went through the motions for the majority of the read. I really found it hard to stay engaged with nothing really keeping my interest. There are a good few characters to get to grips with all telling their points of view. For me the characters were neither likeable nor unlikeable. The main character Kaitlin was irritating in her reaction to the circumstances surrounding her. The ending was extremely rushed with only a few paragraphs to give explanations for different motives after such a wait. The storyline needed a little more fleshing out. It was only ok and a little incomplete…

Kaitlyn believes that she has finally gotten to a point where she has turned her life around following an abusive marriage and a nasty divorce. She has put herself out there and gotten engaged to the man she believes is the man of her dreams, and on all accounts, Greg seems to be the perfect man.

On the night of her birthday, Greg throws her a lavish party wherein Kaitlyn will finally introduce Greg to her best friend, Zoe, who has been living out of the country. But when Zoe finally meets Greg, is it Kaitlyn's mistake or do things seem off? Does Zoe seem to already know Greg? Is someone lying to her about it?

That night, Zoe pulls Kaitlyn aside and questions her relationship with Greg. After an argument between the two women, Zoe runs off from the party. And she doesn't make it home.

Suddenly, Zoe is missing and Greg starts acting very strange and uncharacteristic of his normal charismatic self. Greg is questioned by the police and then he himself turns up missing. Kaitlyn now must figure out what is going on - where is her friend? Where is her fiance? Did Greg have something to do with Zoe's disappearance?

This book started off very strong for me, and then sort of peetered off into the strange and unbelievable. Both Kaitlyn and Zoe were annoying, damaged characters that were needy and unreliable. The twists were average, and I saw most of them coming. I would say that I disliked all of the characters in this book and therefore didn't really care what happened to any of them. Kaitlyn pretty much makes every dumb choice that you can think of, throughout the entire book. And she also fails to see anything until it smacks her in the face, literally.

The pace of this book is pretty good and I would say it would be fine for a beach read or on a plane!

I was really hooked from the beginning, it kept my attention but the second half did fall slightly flat in the end for me.

This book was everything I look for in a book. It was so exciting. The plot was fantastic. It really had me on the edge of my seat, and my heart racing. It was very well written and flowed well.

The Invite is the first book I’ve read by author Sheryl Browne. It definitely had some amazing moments and exciting twists and turns but at times the storyline was confusing. Connections between certain characters did not make sense to me and I kept having to look back in the story to figure it out. As well there were multiple story lines, pov and subplots which also made it difficult to keep track of who was who.

Kaitlin is so excited to be engaged to Greg, her knight in shining armour. He’s handsome, caring and compassionate and adores Kaitlin’s 5 year old daughter Ruby. Greg has organized a lavish birthday party for Kaitlin and she is so excited for her friends to meet him, especially her best friend Zoe. But when Zoe meets Greg, she does not like him nor trust him. Zoe tries to warn Kaitlin about Greg but the two women end up in a shouting match about Greg and Zoe storms out of the party. This is the last time Kaitlin sees Zoe. Within hours Zoe is reported missing and the search is on. Police suspect foul play as Zoe’s purse is found on a footbridge by the river, covered in blood. What happened to Zoe after she stormed out of Kaitlin’s party? Did Greg have something to do with her disappearance or perhaps it was her married boyfriend or his scorned wife?

Theories abound as to who might be responsible for Zoe’s disappearance. There are many potential suspects (thus the many subplots and povs) but I have to say I guessed early on who was responsible.

Aah, the twists and turns were keeping me on my toes. Fast paced. There were many POV s in this book. It had me guessing all the way through. I did guess the twist . There are alot of characters in this one to keep you on your toes.

The story started off well but took a wild turn around the midpoint. So many different subplots but the ending left a lot to be desired. This wasn't a bad book. I liked it, I just didn't love it. I think I should stay away from psychological thrillers for a while. They have become repetitive now.

This is an Invite you will definitely want to accept! Kaitlin’s new boyfriend, Greg, throws a birthday party for her. Her best friend Zoe, comes from Portugal and immediately is suspicious of Greg. Zoe and Kaitlin have a tiff and Zoe disappears. A roller coaster ride follows trying to find Zoe before it’s too late.

A very thrilling whodunit that also somehow had the best bits of a psychological thriller! I read this in two sittings and was hooked till the very end. Special points for the unreliable narrator!

This was a gripping, fast paced read that had me completely hooked.

The story is told from multiple POVs and has many likeable sympathetic characters.

I'll admit when I read the synopsis I was expecting the whole husband/best friend affair cliche BUT inwas wrong *no spoilers*. The story takes off in a completely unexpected direction, who doesn't love a book that sticks it's fingers up to the cliches and gives a whole new perspective?

Was it overly OTT at times.. yes! Was it predictable in places... yes! Was it convoluted... yes! Would I recommend it... hell yes!

The only real downside for me was the rushed ending, I felt that more could have gone into it.

A fast paced, quick read that is perfect for holiday reading!

The Invite by Sheryl Brownes was another fantastic book and I've just loved all of Sheryl's books especially as was fast paced throughout with great twists and turns that just had you sitting on the edge of the seat. Sheryl has a way of bringing into the book.

This is a busy book with several viewpoints portrayed as the story develops and a main character who you will want to throttle ;)

Kaitlin appears to be living the dream, she has a gorgeous new partner, Greg, and her best friend Zoe has returned from Portugal meaning she can finally introduce her best friend to the love of her life. It's red flag central however, when her best friend seems to have an issue with her new man.

Inevitably things soon take a darker turn and Kaitlin is left reeling - but who/what should she believe?

This is a quick and fun read from Sheryl Browne that is perfect for fans of psychological thrillers, it moves at a pace and has rapidly developing plot lines.

Far fetched and unrealistic but an easy gripping read you can’t help but to finish! Thank you for the read.

Kaitlin has a daughter Freya and partner Greg. Her best friend Zoe has been living in Portugal but is coming back for Kaitlins birthday party, although she's leaving a complicated love life behind. She has never met Greg and takes an instant dislike to him and the 2 friends argue. Zoe then goes missing which leaves Kaitlin with doubt about Greg and she discovers things she never knew.
This book was very easy to read, has me keep wanted to just read one more chapter and had me guessing all the way. Highly recommended.
