Well, there's nothing more to say except I think I shall have to go back and read the first 4 in the series!
I have enjoyed a number of Jenny Colgan's books but hadn't ventured to the Isle of Mure before, and An Island Wedding was a wonderful way to be introduced.
Not having read the first few books didn't hamper my enjoyment at all, but whet my appetite, as there were certain elements to the storyline which referred back to previous happenings which only raised my curiosity!
I love a huge cast of characters, and the different veins of the story all tied together in the end.
Flora and Joel and their 'will it happen or won't it' wedding, Lorna and Saif's heart-wrenching romance, Jan and Olivia's relationship as sisters. So much happening, but written in a great way.
Yes. I'll be sure to look up the rest of the series!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK, Sphere for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

I adore this series of books and this one is no exception - a delight from beginning to end. Over the series I've got to know the characters and they feel like friends who you only want (in the main) good things for.

Hoping it won't be long until the next one.

Wow what can I say this was such a delightful and beautiful read. I haven’t read all of the mure series so am looking forward to going back through them but have read most of this authors books so was looking forward to this one and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It transported me to another world with each turn of the page and was perfect escapism with endearing characters and a beautiful setting and was so much more than a romance story as it also covered sensitive issues in a very respectful and enlightening way. I can’t wait to the next instalment in the mure series and to see where the inhabitants of
The island take the reader next.

Great to be back on the island of mure with all the characters and of course the puffin. This book is the wedding and was an extremely enjoyable read. Hoping to visit the island again soon in the near future.
This book captures the series and the island perfectly it’s extremely well written in true Jenny Colgan fashion.
Highly recommended series to read

I love the Mure series of books, the stories just being such joy, the people feel real and you just want to travel to the remote Scottish islands and walk the endless beach, this the most recent is no exception to that rule

Oh, wow, I absolutely loved this story and didn't want it to finish. I think this may be my favourite of all the Mure series and that's saying something. I was compulsive reading and I found it hard to put down and couldn't wait to pick it up again. Jenny Colgan has written a totally compelling sequel to this series set on the fictional Scottish Isle of Mure. I was delighted to once more catch up with the characters and see how their lives were going on, they feel like family now. I smiled a lot, laughed as well, and cried quite a bit at the end too; well actually more than quite a bit, to be honest.

The story spins around Flora and Joel's relationship and upcoming wedding. I love these characters, in fact, I love the whole island's characters, Flora's brother and her outspoken niece Agot make this story so funny at times. Saif, the island's GP, and Lorna's relationship are also up in the air as Saif decides what his future should be. Add in Jan's sister who wants to get married on the island on the same day as Flora, plus her hip and single-minded wedding planner Jacinth and there is drama happening at every turn of the page and boy what a rollercoaster ride this story is.

I cannot recommend this story and series highly enough but do read them in order so you get to know all the characters, or you will definitely be missing out. Have I said I loved this story...I think I might have mentioned it! It was wonderful but I so need to know what happens next, I need a book 6...please take note Jenny Colgan!!

You can't go wrong with a Jenny Colgan novel. I blitzed through this book over the weekend as I just could not get enough. Light and witty I enjoyed every second. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jenny’s books are like a warm hug on a cold day, full of wonderful characters and gorgeous settings! I always enjoy catching up with the residents of Mure, finding out how life is treating them. This time, Flora and Joel are getting married but it’s not as straightforward as they hoped as Jan’s glamorous sister Olivia has decided that Mure and the Rock hotel is the ideal setting for her society wedding - along with her wedding planner who has big ideas! And Olivia wants to get married on Flora’s chosen wedding date…….. as you can imagine, fun and chaos ensues!

A welcome return to the Scottish fictional island of Mure and lots of familiar characters. I enjoyed catching up with Flora, her family and friends. It was a welcome escape from the news and everything going on in the world.

I feel Jenny Colgan is at her best writing this series; it’s not sickly sweet like some of the others and it’s not repeating the same basic premise over and over like the recent Bookshop series. (Girl moves to new area due to unhappy previous situation, has to find a job, ends up selling books, meets a cast of quirky characters, including one or two possible boyfriends. Chooses one, lives happily ever after.) There’s some attempt at reality, grit, hardship and exploration of how characters really feel in the Mure books. These aspects take you on rather an emotional journey and you find you care about the characters.
The story has really moved on throughout the series, sometimes in unexpected ways, and there is definitely space for more; as this latest book ended with plenty of ends dangling. I’m glad.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an ARC.

I was SO excited to receive an advance copy of An Island Wedding - one of my most-anticipated books of the year. I think I've read all of Jenny Colgan's novels and I'm a big fan, particularly of this series. It didn't disappoint!

I really enjoyed this instalment in the popular Mure series and appreciated the opportunity to do some armchair travel further afield to Edinburgh. I loved the writing style and the characters and funny and entertaining moments were intertwined with the sad and bittersweet. I would give this book five stars even though the ending was not want I wanted to happen!

I enjoyed this book as I always enjoy Jenny Colgan's books, especially her Mure series.
This wasn't my favourite of the Mure books, but it still had all those lovely Jenny Colgan nuances, the humour, the beautifully island setting and the unique JC descriptions. Plus all the favourite characters and a few new ones besides.
It's hard to write this without giving away any spoilers, but very close to the end - before the epilogue - I was in danger of falling out a little with the author over something that happened. I thought, "No, you can't do that!" The epilogue earned my forgiveness though. I just hope she hurries up and writes the next book in the series. She can't leave us too long with a cliffhanger like that!

Loved the return to Scottish island Mure for the location of the wedding! The characters are fun to read about. Love all the romances that are part of the wedding and story!

So lovely to be back on the Island of Mure with its interesting cast of characters. Flora and Joel are planning their wedding, a quiet one. Olivia is planning a wedding (a not very quiet one) and Lorna and Saif are trying to keep their romance quiet.

Another great read and I look forward to another trip to Mure soon!

The latest in Jenny Colgan's series set on the fictional Scottish island of Mure is, as always, a really engaging read.

Flora - now mother to nine-month-old Douglas - is planning her wedding to Joel, but that's not the only wedding due to take place on the island. Olivia Mathieson was born and raised on Mure, but having left many years earlier and become a gorgeous model/Instagram type person, hasn't been back since. Now, she wants to "return to her roots" and get married in thoroughly over-the-top style at the hotel Flora runs.

There's lots of fun to be had with the wedding planning, masterminded by the ferocious Jacinth, and a more serious side too as local GP Saif considers his future and that of his two sons.

A delightful read as always and I look forward to future instalments.

Loved, loved, loved this latest book from Jenny Colgan which sees the readers return to the Scottish island of Mure for the much anticipated wedding of Flora and Joel.
Throw in a visiting socialite trying to arrange her own high end wedding....does the path to true love ever run smooth?
A warm comforting read as we meet the residents of Mure again and engage with their lives.
Such a well written book. Absolutely loved it.
Jenny Colgan never disappoints.

Love Jenny Colgan's books. It was great to be back on the island of Mure. Flora is planning her wedding to Joel and they just want a quiet wedding. All things change when Olivia comes back to the island and wants a huge wedding. Lorna and Saif are trying to keep their romance secret

Wow so nice to be back on Mure, surrounded by familiar characters and exciting new ones!
The continuing storyline of flora and her family and friends makes for such a lovely comforting hug of a read, set in the most idyllic place, with a wonderfully varied cast of characters and the most delectable array of local delicacies!
Wedding fever abounds as Flora and Joel plan their own small intimate ceremony whilst at the same time organising the most lavish, ostentatious ceremony for Olivia who grew up on the island, no expense is spared as plans are put into place for a midsummer spectacular!
The path of true love never runs true and the lead up to the weddings is fraught with problems, issues, differences of opinions, but will both couples get the weddings of their dreams?
A great read full of love, hope, forgiveness and hopefully a great big happy ever after!
Would so love to see another book in this series!
Thank you netgalley for this early read.

What can I say, I laughed, I cried, I smiled and I worried but most of all I loved this return to the tiny Scottish island of Mure. I hope Jenny has plenty more ideas to continue this series, I can't wait to meet Agot the teenager.

I loved every single thing about this book. I didn’t want it to end because I just loved being back on Mure with all the characters I have grown to love over the series. I need everyone else to read it so I can scream about that ending with them!
