I love a romance and this was perfection! This author has quickly become a favourite of mine! A great well written book with great chemistry

I have read almost all of Pippa Grant’s books and I absolutely love her ability to create weird, unique characters that still feel REAL. They feel like actual people I can be friends with, not caricatures of people. The one who loves you had a bit of a different vibe than her usual books. It was still good but I wasn’t sure how I felt about her transformation from rich and unapproachable to meshing with their weird little town. While it wasn’t my favorite Pippa Grant book, there were definitely a lot funny moments still and I would recommend it. I’m definitely planning on reading the next book!

I was excited to dive into this work by Pippa Grant, as I had heard very positive reviews of her other books and was excited to dive into this small town romance. It had a lot of tropes that I enjoy - small town romance, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, opposites attract, billionaire romance, etc. The story centers around Phoebe, a wealthy NY socialite, whose life is turned upside down after her grandmother almost chokes and afterwards, decides to move the whole family to the small town of Tickled Pink in Wisconsin. Phoebe and her family are fish out of water, trying to adjust to small town life - against their will. In her everyday encounters with the townspeople (and an attempt to find a good cup of coffee), Phoebe comes into contact with Teague, a single dad and the person who helped Phoebe's grandmother with their living arrangements (an old school). Then the story shifts to the budding romantic tensions between Phoebe and Teague.

However, instead of being able to fall into the story, I found myself struggling to immerse myself into this one as it just was too verbose. I'd rather have had a shorter, more condensed story. I also didn't have any connection with Phoebe as a character, so I don't think that helped either. I did really enjoy the supporting characters and thought they were well written and helped add some excitement to the story. While this one isn't one I'd revisit, I'd definitely pick up another book of the author's work.

The One Who Loves You is the first book in the Tickled Pink series by Pippa Grant. This is a small town, contemporary rom com with plenty of laugh out loud moments and typical Pippa Grant humor.
City woman and millionaire heiress Pheobe moves to small town Tickled Pink after her grandmother, the family matriarch has a change of heart. This socialite is in for a rude awakening when she finds that not only is she giving up the comforts that city life offers, but she must get her hands dirty to help renovate the town's abandoned school.
Enter Teague, the grumpy single dad who lives a humble but simple life. These two are complete opposites but the more time they spend together, the more they learn about themselves and each other.
Overall a good read. Very grumpy/sunshine, enemies-to-lovers with some LGBTQ vibes.

Read this book if you like: Dual POV, small towns, wealthy MC, single dad

This was good but not great. I loved the concept of the rich family moving to a small town with no WiFi, no spas, etc. It reminds me of Schitts Creek. The characters could have been developed better. Where this book really lost me was mid-sex scene Teague's inner monologue was describing her and said "if she weren't rich no one would call her pretty". He also described her face like having a slightly big nose made her deformed or something. What the fuck. Then, a couple of chapters later called her hot and sexy in his head. Is she hot or ugly? That really diminished the chemistry for me.

I am a huge fan of Pippa Grant and own several of her books so I was extremely excited for this. Unfortunately, it didn't resonate with me the way I'd expect a Pippa book would....

This book was like S¢hitts Creek meets Radiator Springs. The premise was fun and the family was ridiculous. Add in the nosy townsfolk and it was all the things I'd expect from a Pippa Grant romcom.

While funny and full of banter, I liked the story line but didn't really care for Teague. This was difficult for me since he's literally one half of the relationship. Then the climax hit me and I just couldn't stand him. It didn't help at all that the climax resolution failed miserably to outweigh the problem. I was extremely unsatisfied and extremely annoyed.

Also, the LGBTQIA+ was super generic and kinda made me sad. A lone sapphic couple in a small town? Parenting of an LGBTQ child without a show of deep friendships for that child? Plus, hiding it as a way to fend off challenges? As a parent I got it, but as a member of the community it really bothered me. I'm not one to point out when someone is using cookie cutter character types as side characters but, well, it really stood out to me here.

Phoebe Lightly is a ruthless, New York socialite, whose goal in life is to run her family's company. It's a role she believes she was born to do. That is, until everything changes, she's shipped off to a small town with her dysfunctional family (with the goal of them all becoming better people) and starts to question who she is and what makes her happy.

I enjoyed this but didn't love it. It was a bit too long, there were too many "lessons" for my liking, and far too many "Oh, my Oprah"s. It's a fun Miss Priss & Mr Grumpy Lumberjack butting heads kind of romance, and not a bad book to read. I did like Teague and the townspeople of Tinkled Pink. They made it more fun. I just found some parts of it a bit tedious and skim read through some of it to finish.

When Phoebe's grandmother has a near death experience...she will stop at nothing to help her family make the most of themselves and to help others to better their spirits...including moving their whole effed up family to a former movie set town.

Phoebe and Teague's crazy book of them coming together is full of laugh out loud, shaking your head, and twisted characters and storyline!

Super fun read!

I loved this one! Big city girl gets moved to a small town after her grandmother’s near death experience. It’s a single dad romance and i adored the dynamic between him and his ex-wife, her new wife and their trans daughter! Seriously, this book was so queer and that made me so happy. The character development was excellent, the sex scenes were well written and hot and I genuinely enjoyed this book!

Pippa Grant is a perfect human who writes amazing weird and fun romance that I truly love so much. Thank you Montlake for the ARC for my honest review.

This was a typical Pippa Grant book. Hilarious and amazing. Love all the characters and can't wait for the next one. I'm always so sad when the book is over. Lol.

The premise was intriguing…over the top, but I can get behind trying to save your soul and the souls of those you care about, or at least can stand to be around. So, I dove in…and found that I just wasn’t into it. So, I put it down. I tried again, got a little further, but put it down…this time I made more of an effort, but found myself skimming pages in the hopes of getting to some goodness, and while there was some goodness, nothing hooked me. And even though I did start to like Phoebe and Teague, I didn’t feel the chemistry between them, I could see how they could be good for each other…but that was about it. Though I will say that I was full on Team Phoebe in the last chapters

It kind of saddens me that this book didn’t work out better for me since I freaking LOVE small town romances, but such is life. So, I’m chalking it up as a “It’s not you, it’s me” thing and move on.

Small town, opposites attract story between Teague and Phoebe. This is not your typical PG book, but it still has somewhat of the PG chaos that ensues, goats and of course the romance. It was an easy, light read. I liked these two together. The family dynamic is always fun. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.

Loved the characters and families. Great humor. I'm looking forward to more adventures in this world.

Did any of that hinder my enjoyment? Absolutely not

This book was perfectly Pippa Grant and I truly had a great time. It was hella funny, it was heartfelt, and it felt an awful lot like a Hallmark Christmas movie in which the mega-rich big city girl ends up in a small town and realizes how awful she truly is and falls in love with a small-town boy who loves to watch her fall in the lake but there’s a bit of a twist and I want to tell you what it is but that would SPOIL it but omg it was fun.

I do wish about 100 pages had been chopped out (whoops) and I somehow have a lot of questions???? but I loved the characters so much I really didn’t mind and I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series and head back to Tickled Pink and hopefully this one won’t end as chaotically??? We shall see.

This was a chaotic review (sorry) so long story short this was fun and I liked it and I like Pippa Grant and you should read it because Phoebe and Teague and the rest of the town are wonderful and I had fun.

Realtor Teague Miller is a single father raising his teenage daughter in Tickled Pink. When he is approached by the Lightly family's matriarch who wants to buy the old high school building, he has no problem making the sale and using the money to benefit the town. He doesn’t expect the family to last too long in the quiet and remote town of Tickled Pink.
Phoebe Lightly’s family is wealthy, and she is used to her New York lifestyle. She has planned and worked hard to take over the family’s company one day. Phoebe and her siblings are shocked when Gigi, her grandmother, has a near-death experience and decides to move them to Tickled Pink. Gigi thinks the family needs to improve their souls and living it rough in a small town will do it. Phoebe hopes Gigi will change her plans and needs Teague’s help to accomplish it.
This was a hilarious, small-town rom com with a grumpy single dad and an outgoing socialite heroine. I loved watching the Lightly family grow closer helping the community and working together to improve their living conditions. This was an excellent book that left me smiling at the end. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
