I am sad to say but unfortunately I picked this book up three different times and I just couldn't get into it. The writing style just didn't seem to work for me. It was very lengthy and elaborate but at the same time never seemed to convey much and left me just wanting to skim the pages until I got to something that seemed relevant. At 10% I finally decided this book just wasn't for me sadly. I would be interested in reading something else from this author in the future to see if it might be a better fit. It may very well be a case of personal preference and its me and not the book.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book.

Readers see a new side of author Pippa Grant in "The One Who Loves You." Grant is known and loved for her romantic comedies that range from silly to outrageous. This first book in the Tickled Pink series still has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but it feels a bit more toned-down and believable than some of her previous work.

This series features a family of socialites who move to Wisconsin after their matriarch's near death experience convinces her that the whole family has a lot of work to do to save their own souls. Among them is Phoebe Lightly: take-no-prisoners, CEO in training, a heroine readers won't want the cheer for - at least at first. Phoebe meets small-town grump Teague Miller on her first day in Wisconsin, and the two hit it off like Mentos and Coke. I loved the dynamics of this opposites-attract, enemies to lovers story.

I also really enjoyed the themes in "The One Who Loves You." Everyone is worthy of love. Love is love is love. It's never too late to make the changes you want to make and be the person you want to be. Cycles of toxicity do not have to be passed on to every generation.

Grant really knocked it out of the (snowshoe baseball) park with this one. I'm eager for more.

5 Golden Halos for 'The One Who Loves You'!

What would happen the producers of Schitts Creek had Pippa Grant writing that series? You'd get this book!!

Phoebe Lightly and her family descend upon the town of Tickled Pink (seriously, only Pippa could come up with this name!!), and wreak havoc in the name of becoming better humans.

Teague, his family and all the townsfolk make it their mission to make sure they do so using their splendidly small town mindset (and its a beautiful thing!)

As you would expect from this storyline there is personal growth, crazy funny antics throughout and some sexy times!

If you're looking for an easy, enjoyable read, look no further!! You have found heaven in a town called Tickled Pink!!

I’ve read this author for years, and absolutely love anything and everything she writes. This book was not quite a off the wall and good as her others, but it was still laugh out loud hilarious and full of a great love story. I recommend this book and any of her others.

OMG, this book. I started reading it last night and thought "I don't think I'm going to like this". It wasn't keeping my interest at first and so lights out. I woke up 2 hours early this morning and thought, I'll read some more of this book and then it will put me back to sleep. To say it started growing on me is an understatement! By the end of the book I was so in love with Teague and Phoebe and in love with Tickled Pink and the entire motley crew in Tickled Pink!! I actually read until I finished the book. I could not put it down after I restarted it this morning. It was that good. It was funny and I loved how Phoebe grew on Teague and vice versa. Just a great read. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy!

Pippa Grant is an author who I want to love. Everything about her stories seems like it should work for me: the eye catching cover, the fun blurb, and the recommendations of my friends. However, I can't seem to connect. This is a long story - but 20% in, I felt like it wasn't going anywhere. I think there were too many characters for me, and not a deep enough connection to any of them. Phoebe starts out as completely unlikeable and I'm guessing that her story arc changes that, but I didn't connect to her enough to want to find out. I also didn't find the small town charm I was looking for. There was no underlying warmth there to soften some of the exasperation and quirkiness.

In the end, I think I need to accept that the writing style doesn't work for me. The humor doesn't work for me. And the romance...doesn't work for me. I DNFd at 20%.

I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to read and review.

I laughed and cried. Phoebe is a menace, but you fall in love with her goofy, sassy self. Teague is a “grumpy lumberjack” and I loved him. The whole town of Tickled Pink was endearing and I need more. Estelle is a nightmare, but she had her moments. Bridget’s character was amazing and I adored her.

The first bit of the book jumped right into the characters and plot and I felt like there could’ve been either more detail or some of it taken out. The ex boyfriend plot line was fairly superfluous and didn’t add much to Phoebe’s character. It could have been cut completely.

Oh what a great start to a new series and I love how the socialite has fallen into the small town of Tickled Pink. Phoebe is sent to live with her Grandmother who's goal is to grow up and live in the real world. Low and behold she meets a blue collar, single dad who crosses paths with Phoebe and those two set off on their adventure. I adored all the characters in this one and I feel that Phoebe grew a lot throughout the story learning more about herself and who she wanted to be. I love a quirky small town and this one delivered, can't wait to see where Tickled Pink takes off to next.

I really wanted to enjoy this book but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. It's longer than it needs to be but I did have a good time reading it.

A good storyline and a genuine rom -com with likeable characters. I found this hard going at first but worth persevering with, this story has many laugh out loud moments to enjoy.

I fell head over heels in love with charming Tickled Pink and the characters. This storyline was fresh and unique and I loved having no idea what to expect, I loved the surprises! As always this Pippa book was full of humor, heat, heart, character, pets, and all the feels. I LOVED growing with these two characters and was galvanized as my heart exploded watching Phoebe and Teague find themselves and each other. I particularly loved the inclusiveness and diversity in the characters as vulnerabilities were explored and love shone thru. I cannot wait for the next book!

First, you should know I love Pippa books. As in I’ve read everything, I’d sell my only child to the highest bidder to get my hands on her new release and the whole world grinds to a halt the second her book drops to my device. Her characters are quirky, over-the-top and endearing, and their flaws and vulnerabilities make me absolutely adore them in ridiculous amounts. And they always deliver a delightful, heartfelt, emotional reading escape. I also know to never read her books in a public setting because I’m sure to garner strange looks with my snorts of laughter from the hilarious shenanigans that ensue in the pages.

This book isn’t a typical Pippa book. While I read her books straight through, staying up late into the night to finish them, I picked this book up five times, trying to love it, and then to read to the end. There was simply too much extraneous narrative that didn’t add anything and bogged down my reading process.

A character would make a comment or ask a question, then there were pages of narrative before the next character finally replied. I, as well as my interest, got lost frequently because of this. It’s something I’ve noticed recently in books from an indie author who gets traditionally published. When I’ve previously loved everything I’ve read from them, their work gets in the hands of a traditional publisher's editor and comes out looking nothing like what I was already familiar with.

This is not what I’ve come to expect from a Pippa book. The hero was simply adequate and I didn’t really care for heroine, so I had little investment in seeing her redemption or HEA. And the personification of animals, something that I’ve come to think of as a Pippa trademark, saw a missed opportunity in a mama raccoon and her kits who got only a passing mention.

Technically, this book is well written. The story arc is clear the characters are well developed and the manuscript is polished. Its saving grace will be the appeal to readers who read mostly traditionally published romance, and those who love to spend days in a book savoring each word. If you’re that reader, you'll likely love this book and you'll definitely appreciate the pops of Pippa's amazing wit and humor.

Ugh. This book just wasn’t for me. I really tried to get into it, but I didn’t feel a connection between the characters, or honestly even care about most of the characters until the last 20% of the book.

The “conflict” that happens along with the surprise, was definitely not what I was expecting. So I did enjoy that.

I also really liked Bridget - she was a great character and had so much depth to her.

This book was not what I was expecting and I absolutely adored it! The dynamic between Pheobe and Teague was so interesting to read about and the growth that they had both as individuals and as a couple really spoke to me as a reader. And that twist at the end?!?!? YES!!!

5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay, I loved this book! It was definitely something new and different from an author I’ve come to obsessively read her entire catalogue of, multiple times! I enjoyed the character growth of both of the main characters. I also related on a very personal level to having a child who just wants to be who they are, inside and out. Knowing that not everyone they meet in life will love and accept them as they are. This was quirky and flirty and sexy on an outrageously believable level! With lots of room to grow and more stories to tell, I can’t wait for the next!

This book took me a few chapters to get into the groove, but it was worth pushing forward. Despite this slow and confusing start for me, I fell in love with Phoebe and Teague along with their very strange relationship. Phoebe's family is larger than laugh and had me laughing out loud. Teague's odd family as well as the townspeople make me want to pack my bag and move to Tickled Pink, Wisconsin. The pranks, secrets and oddities mean that there are surprises around every corner making for a very entertaining week. I am so glad this is listed as #1 because I can't wait to return to Tickled Pink!!

I could not put this book down. Sorry family girls gotta read. Alexa, please feed my tiny humans 😉

Big city meets small town in this new release from Pippa Grant. Pippa has a way of making you connect with the characters from the beginning while delivering hilarious and outrageous scenes. She is masterful at creating the quirkiest small towns that you wish could visit in real life. This book is no different.

Grab it and fall in love with Teague and the town of Tickled Pink. Watch and see if small town living can help save the soul of Big City Phoebe and her family.

I loved this book so much and I’m excited to see how this series continues! I need the second book stat!!

Spoiled New York socialite meets small town lumberjack. Oddly enough, this ended up being exactly what I craved the more I read. It seemed odd at first, and I wasn’t sure how the snobbish persona of Phoebe would portray in the writing, but it was so well done. I truly enjoyed reading this book.

Phoebe and Teague’s interactions were spicy from the beginning, full of barbs, witty banter, and some scheming between them. I loved seeing their relationship progress and was cheering for them every step of the way (even when they both would act like an idiot).

What I also loved about this book is that it wasn’t just focused on the relationship between Phoebe and Teague, but included Phoebe’s relationship with her own family and those in the town. You truly get to see her become a better person and that includes how she treats others. It was written in such a way that it helped the story along and I truly can’t wait to hopefully get their stories in the future!
