I absolutely loved this book, Katie Ginger obviously loves libraries as much as I do! I am a very vocal advocate for Libraries and how they are very important for communities, they are not just for books. They are places to meet, obtain information, learn new skills, use computers, attend groups and clubs and to socialise. This book shows just how important Meadowbank Library is to the town.
I sadly lost my job as a Librarian and I still miss it. If a book features a library then I have to read it. This is definitely one of my favourite books that features a library. The characters are all lovely and the book perfectly encompasses what it is like to work in a library.
This book is set in Meadowbank which is the location of some of Katie Ginger's previous books. This can be read as a standalone novel. We do catch up with some of the previous characters but this book features Elsie and Jacob who are both new characters. This book tells the story with a dual narrative , alternating between Elsie and Jacob.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it is well written and I quickly became involved in the village life. I hope that there is another book in the Meadowbank series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

The book started off well, if a little predictable, but the story itself was good. Elsie the shy librarian standing up to the housing developers and councillors to save the library, and finding romance along the way. I thought that on the whole it was too descriptive. Elsie blushed bright red was a recurring theme, the bakery sounded delicious but again very descriptive of each item in the cabinet. In my personal opinion this was all just fillers.
It’s not a bad book just wasn’t for me this time.

My thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review, which I freely give.

I do love Katie Ginger and it was lovely to be back in the village of Meadowbank, having left them at Christmas. The village complete with a village green and duck pond. All seemed well for Elsie until the day her boss from the council said the library had been sold to developers and was being knocked down ! Elsie had worked there for 5 years and was much a part of the library as the books and groups that went to it. She attended the public meeting where the council and Jacob the developer explained about the affordable housing that was to be built. Elsie who is normally quiet complained about it. This outburst caused Elsie to loose her job for not toeing the party line.

It is a wonderful read, if you read the Christmas story, you will be pleased to know that the main characters get a mention. I cannot wait for the next visit to this lovely village and residents. I have no hesitation to award 5* and recommend.

Elsie was a bit frustrating at times but overall this was a cute little read. The side characters were lovely and I enjoyed meeting the local villagers. It would be nice to read more about Elsie’s life after the ending in this book. Perhaps a follow up?

A heart warming and delightful read about community, the importance of compassion and friendship and finding love in unexpected places.
I loved the hub that the library had created and was up in arms alongside the residents at the threat of it being shut down. My favourite part of the book was seeing how much Elsie really grew throughout the story. I love plots where there are many threads to the story that all pull together and this fit the bill perfectly.
It really wasn't just a happy romantic read but demonstrated that pulling together and trusting your instincts and believing in yourself can help to achieve more than you could hope for.
I love books by Katie Ginger they just keep getting better and better!

Katie has smashed it once again with another delightful and gorgeous read and what better way to catch a readers attention, than having it focused on a library in need of saving!? I absolutely adore the cover for this book, it allows the readers to be able to full imagine the library that Elsie is fighting to save and if all libraries looked as beautiful as the one on Cherry Lane, I would never leave! Elsie and Jacob were such a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings, but it was so delicious and I couldn't stop turning the pages, waiting and hoping that those emotions and feelings would finally be put to use for the right reasons, instead of pushing one another away. I saw so much of myself in Elsie, it really is a special moment when you can truly connect with a book character and this book will now always have a place in my heart because of that. Jacob was a dreamy man, who just needed a push in the right direction and I loved him from the moment we met him - I'm really glad that Katie gave us chapters from both Elsie and Jacob's perspectives, as it really allows the readers to understood Jacob's journey within the business and his relationship with his father, so we don't hate on him too hard, as Elsie did. We was opened up to a more vulnerable side of Jacob and it really helped seeing that, as the romance started to blossom - he was definitely a man worth rooting for. It was so wonderful to be back with so many lovely characters, I was so happy to see little snippets of how our other characters we had already met were doing, along with being introduced to some new faces as well.

Anything revolving around books is a given for me. The cover is so well made I would have picked this one up if I saw it at the library or at the store.

This was such a cute read. I loved the characters in this book and the community that exist in this little village. I also wanna live like that when I get old.

The story was good and I would recommend this for anyone who like books about books, love and a strong community. It is a quick and easy read that will make you feel good when reading it.

Another enjoyable and charming read by this author. I mean a book based on a library, a close community and likeable characters is a book that for is a must read. Yes, it’s the usual, enemies to lovers story, but written as usual at a pace that draws you in and leaves you feeling good.

The Little Library on Cherry Lane is a charming story of a community who come together to save the village library from demolition. We follow the life of Elsie Martin, the shy librarian, Jacob Yardley, a builder and a few other characters.

Katie Ginger have crafted a delightful story about a little village. I loved the setting and the characters. It's so rare to find these charming stories that describe the importance of community libraries.

Another fabulous book by Katie Ginger.

Elsie loves her life just as it is. Living in her little cottage, next door to her best friends and working in the local library surrounded by the locals. Until one day the council visit to say the library is being knocked down to make way for a development of affordable houses. This news is devastating to the locals but especially to her as she hates change and loves her job.
Everyone loves Elsie and thinks she is so quiet and introverted however she decides she’s had enough and the little library is worth saving.. As Elsie finds her voice, the locals join her in standing up to the developers in the fight to save what they love
I loved this book and read it in a day

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I love books by Katie Ginger and the cover of this one is pretty and stands out.

If you love visiting libraries and reading books, then this book is a must read.

When Elsie finds out that her library is to be demolished to allow for new houses to be built, she knows she has to fight to save it, for which Elsie has to find her confidence to see this through, the library means so much to her.

She meets Jacob, unaware that he’s the person in charge of building the houses that he thinks people in Meadowbank need. His father wants the job done, so it seems Jacob and Elsie must pull out all the stops to get what they want.

Will the library be cleared for houses or will Elsie be able to save it?

The story had a mix of characters, giving the book a feel of a lovely community. There was nothing I didn’t like about this story.

Highly Recommend This Book

What a fabulous book of pure escapism in the little village of Meadowbank.
Elsie is a very happy librarian doing a job she adores the same as she does books. She learns the devastating news that the library will close to make way for a new housing development. She needs to act to avoid this happening. What will she do?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. It was an absolute pleasure.

A delightful read from start to finish! Elsie is a librarian in Meadowbank, the charming village where she grew up. Notified that their beloved library is slated for closure to make way for an affordable housing development, Elsie wonders what will happen to her. She loves her job and where she lives. More importantly, what will the closure mean to everyone who relies on the library? Not just a building with books, a beloved widowed neighbor comes in for the company, another who’s interest is in using the computer to search which famous people are spotted around, a playgroup provides Mom and tots together time. Community members who will be lost without the library. Elsie has never been comfortable being in the spotlight, but she feels she must do something. What can she do?

THE LITTLE LIBRARY ON CHERRY TREE LANE by KATIE GINGER.

I love a new book by Katie Ginger, she always writes such feel good fiction.

You can’t pick this book up without being drawn to the cover. It’s so pretty and positively ooozes loveliness.

Elsie is happy with her quiet life and loves her job in the local library.
When her beloved library is set to close and be knocked down for new affordable housing, Elsie knows that she has a battle on her hands and needs to dig deep to find the confidence and courage to lead the fight to save it.

Jacob is in charge of the new development and believes passionately that local people should be able to afford local housing. Under huge pressure from his demanding father, Jacob is ready for battle with Elsie.

Can the library be saved or will it be knocked to the ground for new housing?

This is a very sweet and gentle read. I loved the characters, especially some of the smaller roles. They gave the book a lovely warm feel and contributed to the great sense of community contained in the story.

There is nothing to dislike about this book. Quite simply it is beautiful both inside and out.

Oh Meadowbank I love you. I've loved revisiting and seeing what the characters Amelia and Bella from previous books have been getting up to as well as meeting new characters Elsie, Gemma and the gang.

This book as with the others based in Meadowbank is filled with passion, community spirit and love.

I adore Katie's writing, there hasn't been a bad book yet. I really enjoy the chemistry that builds between the characters and the will they won't they aspect that is always there. Elsie was such a warm and compassionate character and I really enjoyed her journey.

I can't wait to read more from Meadowbank.

I love bookish books! The Little Library On Cherry Lane follows librarian Elsie Martin as she fights to keep Meadowbank's community library open. The library is being knocked down by developer, Jacob Yardley, to make room for more housing. Elise puts everything she has into saving the library, but it is complicated by her feels for Jacob.

This book was so cute! I especially loved all the talk about how the book community can help people through hard times. I know many of us can relate to that. Plus, it's an enemies to lovers story which is definitely a favourite for me.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author, Katie Ginger, and the publisher, HQ, for gifting me this eARC for review.

One of the loveliest books I've read for ages! An absolutely beautiful story of villagers trying to save their local library, along with a gorgeous romance!

I adored the main characters of Elsie and Jacob, and absolutely loved seeing them both grow in confidence over the course of the book. Both of them gripped me from the first page and I was rooting for them the whole way through.

I absolutely love Katie Ginger's books, and one thing she's a master of is building a village - perfect descriptions of the setting, and the most wonderful side characters. Every villager is unforgettable in their own way, and I felt like I got to know all the inhabitants of Meadowbank - even the smaller characters have personalities that jump off the page!

I was utterly bereft to have finished this book - talk about unputdownable! Every time I put my Kindle down, I wanted to pick it back up again and read just a little bit more!

It really highlights the importance of libraries and how many people use them for a wide range of things. It's a love letter to books and to libraries everywhere - a truly special book! Cosy, heartwarming, and uplifting - everything you want in a book about books! Highly recommended to all booklovers! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

I wanted to love this book. I really did. I understand that I received an ARC of this book, but this thing was riddled with plot holes and typos. In the first scene, when the main character is being interviewed, it feels like a chunk of text has just been....removed. The question about ice cream is boring and not well explained, and that continues thematically for the rest of the novel. The hero was fine, but the narrator is so bland and unlikable that I can't even remember her name. With heavy editing, this could be great--but it's not.
