Stylish who done it. Set in contemporary Paris where Ben has set up shop as a freelance journalist his estranged sister running from a bad job and even worse boss turns up practically unannounced at Ben's swanky Parisian abode. But where is Ben, he knew she was coming, so why can't she find him and why wont his neighbours tell her what she needs to know? High drama and high stakes in the city of lights

This unfortunatly was not my kind of book. It read quickly enough but I saw some of the tropen and twists coming from a mile away and I would have loved a bit more depth in the writing. And I know these kinds of books are not always as believable, but this last twist was so far fetched I coulant look past it.

The Watchful Concierge.

The Scorned Lover.

The Prying Journalist.

The Naïve Student.

The Unwanted Guest.

A Murder.

Thank you to @lucyfoleyauthor the fabulous author, @netgalley and @harpercollinsuk for this audio-book.

I have read The Guest-list by Lucy Foley, and really enjoyed Foley's style and how she creates tension for the reader. The Paris Apartment did not disappoint.
While Jess is trying to find her brother Ben, we hear what each person in the dark and eerie apartment building think of Ben, what their perception of him was, how they met him and when they last saw him.
The audiobook really helped bring the characters to life giving them charm, bitterness and their dark background.

So many twists and turns and I will say i enjoyed it a lot more than I did The Guest List.
I thought the claustrophobic mystery was brill, the descriptions of places and atmospheres and in the Parisian setting she nailed it once again. The language, the cafes and attitude of the French.

Not only do the residents have secrets, but the building also has hidden rooms, dark cellars which helps create the atmosphere and the Agatha Christie-esque feel.

The ending ... to my surprise the crime wasn't the one I thought it was.
Another Great Twist.

Welcome to No.12 rue des Amants

A beautiful old apartment block, far from the glittering lights of the Eiffel Tower and the bustling banks of the Seine. Where nothing goes unseen, and everyone has a story to unlock.

The watchful concierge

The scorned lover

The prying journalist

The naïve student

The unwanted guest

There was a murder here last night.

A mystery lies behind the door of apartment three.

Thank you to @lucyfoleyauthor the fabulous author, @netgalley and @harpercollinsuk for this audio-book in exchange for an honest review! I read this alongside the physical copy with @booky_weirdo #bitcrackbookclub and what a read it was!

I loved Jess, she was such a strong lead! I also loved the character building of the other residents in the apartment block. I was completely captivated and unaware of what lay ahead for me to discover!

The audio really helped with the French pronunciations in the book and it set the atmosphere for the lure driven thrilling twists to come! I didn’t guess, I rarely guess and I LOVED how this book was wrapped up. Fab book, fab audiobook! Definitely recommend listening too!

Having loved The Hunting Party and enjoyed The Guest List, I jumped at the chance for this. I started listening to it in February and it just didn't hold my attention. Its now May and I've finally finished it. It's an ok read but I was expecting a lot more. The end twist just kind of fell flat for me and not much was really happening throughout.

Immensely enjoyable audiobook. I became utterly immersed in the cleverly plotted story and loved the totally believable characters, good and bad. The narration, by a number of different narrators, was fantastic. Gripping and intriguing.

This was my third Lucy Foley book. I love her style of multi POVs. I enjoyed the different narrators throughout, the French accents and the backdrop of Paris. Everyone here is a suspect for one reason or another.
The twists and turns didn’t stop coming and added greatly to the drama and suspense. Plenty of scandal and intrigue in The Paris Apartment.
Thanks for the ARC.

This was an interesting, whodunnit style of thriller which I have devoured in just a few days. It was told from multiple POVs of residents of a Paris apartment compound, which was very interesting and made me doubt myself many times when trying to guess who actually did it. Overall it was an enjoyable thriller!

This was my first Lucy Foley book and audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed it to the point I will be looking at more. The plus points of the audiobook with the variety of narrators making the characters each stand out. With fantastic plot twists along the way I found it drew me in and I was hooked wanting to know what happened to Ben and the link between the residents. Whilst no one character stood out to me as particularly strong or endearing, they all played their roles well as the events unfold. Well paced and definitely worth a read.

I really enjoyed The Paris Apartment as an audio book. The narration was great and what made it was having a different reader for each main character as the chapters were split by who was talking.
Very suspenseful with a cracking twist. Thank you for the ARC - 4 stars.

Enjoyable listen
When Ben gets a call from his half sister Jess who has just lost her Job out in London and needs a place to stay he is not overly welcoming and begrudgingly agrees she can come to visit him
Ben is a reported who is currently living in a Paris apartment and writing a story
Jess arrives late at night in Paris to find Ben missing.
All she has is a voice message from that night, Ben has disappeared leaving behind his wallet, and keys at the apartment.
His treasured Vespa is also sitting in the garage.
Jess manages to get herself into the apartment (3rd floor) and she meets each of the other tenants
Each of the characters have their own perception of Ben and each has their own recollection of their times with him further investigations show all is not what it seems with these tenants and has Jess stumbled upon the reason Ben is missing and put herself in danger
Good storyline. very entertaining with a few twists just what I like in a book

Lucy Foley does not miss. The Paris Apartment was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022 and it did not disappoint! Once again we are thrown into a who done it situation, where the POV changes and so does the timeline. I loved listening to this as an audio because of the POV changes. The story was full of twists and turns, some I picked up on and others I had absolutely no idea! I did not expect the plot twist to be the one it was, I thought I'd solved the mystery and pinpointed the perpetrator but to my surprise the crime wasn't the one I thought it was. I am such a fan of Lucy's, has easily become on instabuy author for me and I look forward to reading more from her!

Bit of a backwards review - I very kindly recieved the audio of this book and tried to finish it however I couldn't get through it, some of the narrators voices were painful to listen to. So the audio 1/5 however I have since purchased and read the physical book and really enjoyed it.

Jess arrives at the apartment of her half-brother, Ben only to find he has vanished without a trace. With unfriendly and unreliable neighbours shes forced to search for answers.

Not my favourite Lucy Foley book however this claustrophobic mystery was enjoyable. One thing Lucy does well is descriptions of places and atmospheres and in the Parisian setting she nailed it once again.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an audio copy to listen to in exchange for an honest review.

I have liked all of Lucy Foley's books that I've read. They are fast paced and somehow always manage to twist you into a place without really letting you know that you are going there. This one is probably one of my favourites - I did not expect all of the events that happened and was pleasantly surprised how the end of the novel turned out. Like her previous mysteries this one was action packed and just kept me engaged from start to finish. I love the cast of characters and it was so easy to follow the multiple narrators on audio.

I both read and listened to this book, I think I enjoyed the audio better however I did also enjoy the reading version, the character build up and twists and turns were good and I still enjoyed this book,

Long time since I have read about by this author. Loved the setting of Paris and the accents of the narrator really brought the story to life
A bit twisty thus story kept my interest.

Superb! This story keeps you guessing right up to the end - I thought I had it all figured out but I was so very wrong. There are a couple of shocking moments mid-story, which stun and keep you glued. The narrators do a fantastic job of embodying their characters, each has a distinctive voice and I particularly enjoyed the times when they spoke in another character's voice. The story pivots around an apartment block, yet it doesn't feel too claustrophobic as the author cleverly uses other areas/buildings to expand the story and how the characters behave in different environments. Overall, this is a dark, deliciously sinister tale.

I found this quite forgettable, it was okay. I thought the premise sounded really good but the ending was quite disappointing.
Also, some of the characters were very odd like why did they eat someone's hair?
I need to try Lucy Foley's other works.

The narrator was good though.

Thank you HarperCollins UK Audio for the Audiobook!

I jumped on the 'request' bandwagon when I got an email that Lucy Foley's next was available as an e-ARC and audiobook because I loved The Hunting Party and enjoyed The Guest List. I went into reading The Paris Apartment with hopes of an engaging thriller, Despite having a promising start, somewhere as the story progressed, it could not hold my interest. I was happy to see that Lucy Foley opted to change the format from her previous two books so I was expecting twists and turns but there weren't many. The story was quite predictable and it felt a little dragged towards the end. Without any spoilers, the story's only and final twist fell a little flat probably because there wasn't any strong suspense build-up! Having said that I did finish the book so it is worth a shot because I enjoyed the narrator!
