I love that all of Adele Parks' books are just so different each time. This is a totally different direction but once again a very gripping and intriguing storyline.

A real rollercoaster of a thriller. So many twists and turns you have no idea where it is going to send you next. The writing felt a little flat at times emotionally but the content was fast paced. Surprises in every chapter.

What a first sentence! It skilfully snares you and then reels you in! I was hooked by the first few words and it kept me guessing throughout. This is a dark story, full of twists and turns, hints of voyeurism and then when you think you have worked it out, something else is revealed. This is the perfect holiday read telling the story of Dora a high class escort, and it will keep you hooked right until the end.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher HQ and the author for the chance to review this advance copy.

Adele Parks always writes books that I know I will enjoy and One Last Secret was no exception!

Thanks to a power outage at work, I was able to read this in one sitting and enjoyed it very much

Loved this, Adele Parks at her best, I was gripped from the start and loved the twist at the end. Dora is an engaging and likeable character and the switch between characters and timeframes is done well throughout the novel.

I absolutely sped through this book! Dora is a 31 year old sex worker who is giving up the job for love. Then she agrees to accompany one last client on a trip abroad while her partner is away as she is promised she will be there posing as a girlfriend and not expected to sleep with the client. This book is so twisty and I never saw any of it coming and was completely gripped throughout!

Believe it or not I have not read much Adele Parks, and I have no idea why because I love her writing. This book was well written with well developed characters and a gripping storyline that had me on the edge of my seat. Twisty and unpredictable, I loved it and cannot wait to read more of her writing.

This was a very enjoyable book. I have always enjoyed Adele Park's books, so wouldn't expect anything less. It was incredibly well written, and I was hooked from the start

Dora is an escort, with a past…and a future. Newly engaged to a man who adores and loves her, she agrees to give up her way of life and start anew. Until she is offered just on last job. A regular client, offering her a holiday/party, if she agrees to pose as his girlfriend for a few days. Well, with her fiancé away, what harm could it do? What Dora doesn’t know is that she is about to come to face with some of the horrors of the past…..

Adele Parks does it again, leaving the reader guessing and piecing the story together as it unfolds. I love Adele’s books and this is no exception. Be prepared to get very little done whilst you are reading it!

Adele Parks is the queen of the domestic thriller. One Last Secret represents a departure from her usual fare as the book's protagonist is not a suburban mother trying to make ends meet financially and to hold her family together, but a glamorous singleton by the name of Dora who makes her living as a paid companion to rich men. It is a life she wants out of, but how difficult will this escape be?
I think most readers will root for Dora for the beginning and will want to know how her moral dilemma plays out and the solution she eventually comes up with. Although parts of this novel appeared rushed, with contrived dialogue and some redundant passages that could have been edited out, this is still a gripping novel that is worth persevering with. I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for this free ARC that enabled me to write this honest, unbiased review.

Having read (and thoroughly enjoyed) all of Adele’s previous books I was delighted to be given this book to review and whilst her writing remained at it’s high standard I just found myself exhausted by all of the secrets that this book threw my way (still not really sure which was the last one!)

A gripping read which kept me up while late, as usual when this author is involved, I love Adele Parks and this novel is unputdownable. Dora is a sex worker, and she describes her world and all it's dangers, in a way that is believable. She is a character who is very well drawn. I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it highly.

I always enjoy this author’s books and this one certainly lived up to expectations.

A high class escort looking to retire from the business. One last job playing the part of a devoted girlfriend. What could go wrong? Surprisingly for Dora, everything.

Absolutely brilliant.

Oh this was good!! I have been reading Adele Parks books for about 15 years now and I always know I'm going to get something good when I start a new one.

This book had everything I love - well fleshed out characters, a gripping plot, surprising twists and beautifully described locations. I didn't necessarily like main character Dora and a lot of her decisions were questionable at best but I still found myself rooting for her and wanting everything to work out for her.

Every time I thought I knew exactly where the book was going, more layers would be added to the story and I was pulled right back in. You do need to suspend belief a bit to accept all the events of the book but I'm happy to do so for a good story.

I would definitely recommend this book, easily one of my favourites so far this year.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I was blown away by one of her previous books, but any that I have read since just haven't done it for me. This started out slow, had some predictable events in the middle, and then threw in some huge twists toward the end. I didn't see a lot of the connections between characters coming, but overall, it just seemed slow until the end.

I couldn't put it down. Mind blowing.
Dora is a smart, stunning and discrete escort and Daniel has paid for her services before. This time, all she has to do is to convince the assembled guests that she is his girlfriend. Dora is used to playing roles and being whatever men want her to be. It’s all about putting on a front. It will be a last, luxurious look at how the other half live, before Dora turns her back on the escort world and all its dangers. She has found someone she loves and trusts. With him, she can escape the life she’s trapped in. But when Dora arrives at the chateau it quickly becomes obvious that nothing is what it seems… Dora finds herself face-to-face with a man she has never forgotten, the one man who really knows her. And as old secrets surface, it becomes terrifyingly apparent that one last secret could cost Dora her life…
Adele Parks never disappoints when it comes to psychological thriller.
Loved this book. I think everyone should read it.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me an advance copy.
