Charmingly illustrated series about a set of teens, who practically have heart emoji eyes, and are all in love with being in love. As teens, they are terrible communicators and focus too much on their own perceptions to be able to read a situation accurately. All of the characters are completely adorable. This is a wonderful series. Nice queer representation, too.

Oh no! Aoiki does like Ida, which he tried to deny in the first volume. In this volume, it follows the boys as they start to navigate what their relationship is beyond friendship (if that's a thing). This story continues the LGBTQ+ positive vibes that was set in the series opener.

A pretty fun slice-of-life manga set in high school. Romantic dramatics and misunderstandings provide an enjoyable and fairly light story, but the premise is starting to wear a touch thin by book 3.

As charming as the first two books in the series.

For Libraries: Perfect for teens who loved the first 2 books.

Seriously still cute and I like how we can focus shortly on the other characters too, so they aren't delegated to the background.

Okay, so this time, the four friends go on a school trip to Hokkaido, which turns out to be some sort of skiing boot camp thing. Aida and Ida are in Class A, the good skiers, and Aoki and Hashimoto are in Class D, the, to put it bluntly, sucky skiers. Both Aoki and Hashimoto are in the dumps anyway, thinking their crushes don't feel the same way about them, when the coach gives them a pep talk that hits Aoki just right and strengthens his resolve. When Aoki's and Hashimoto's ski exams don't go well, Ida suggests they all bone out for a bit, and they all go out into the surrounding woods for some moon-gazing. Aoki suggests he and Ida go elsewhere to leave Hashimoto alone with Aida, since the mood is so perfect, and then.... just AHHHHHHH MY HEART!!! I AM DED!!! It's just too sweet, I can't T_T
I'm not saying any more, because I'll spoil things, and I don't want to do that. I will say I wish I'd gone to high school with Ida, he is just so pure and thoughtful and I wouldn't feel like a weird old lady crushing on him like I do now lol! I mean, my crushing is really being done by the high school me that still lives in my heart. y'know? I wish I'd had an Ida back then.
Good heavens, I love this series! Please go read it and love it with me!

This series is too cute. While breaking the realm of believability a little bit with the school trip from hell arc, everything still is on track to becoming one of my favorite manga series.

Volume 3 of My Love Mix Up! was quite frankly adorable.

Aoki and Ida are on a school ski trip and Aoki and Hashimoto are grouped into the most grueling section for skiing boot camp. Their friendship is very refreshing and I love how good of friends they are considering how their friendship started and the miscommunication that followed. And of course when Ida and Akkun come to help Aoki and Hashimoto, I loved that too. The focus on not just the romantic pairing, but on the friendships between them all, is one of my favorite things about this series. The friendship group and how supportive each of them are for each other is so wonderful to read about as well as getting to see Aoki and Ida come to terms with their feelings for each other.

I love this series and genuinely cannot contain the joy it brings me. This series is fun, light-hearted and designed to bring a smile to your face.

I find myself so often reading sad and angsty stories and reading these is a great break from all of that. The characters are loveable and fun to watch grow as they each discover their identities and who they really are. Each page captures their personalities and the sometimes chaotic emotions they feel.

Another element that I thoroughly enjoy is the pacing of this story. It never feels rushed. Watching both Ida and Aoki slowly fall for each other and learn to date is wholesome and reflects so many experiences we have as teens learning what it means to like someone. A really important detail is the fact that we haven’t erased Aoki's identity of being attracted to both Ida and at one point in time Hashimoto. Having Bi representation is incredible and something that made me love this story even more.

Overall this is hands down another favorite and I will continue to read and recommend this wholesome story. Especially those that are having trouble with their identity and want characters to potentially see themselves in.

This story is nothing but fluff and wholesome moments with some really great dialogue around relationships, high school, and first loves. Cannot recommend it enough.

I really do love this series so much it’s such a good time!

I LOVE the friendship between Hashimoto and Aoki and how they’re there for each other and I loved it even more that there was an opportunity for Aida to be made into a bit of a jerk but the author went in the other direction to keep him as a nice guy and leave the door open for Hashimoto! I really thought I was about to end up with him on my dislike list!

Not only does this continue to explore the characters emotions and feelings, but it continues to be hilarious too! Like just when you think it’s going to get a little bit serious…the humour pops out to keep the good vibes going! I honestly saw ski trip and was like yikes but it ended up being so entertaining and full of hijinks!

The pacing for this continues to be fantastic and there’s a tonne of plot progression in this volume with a few confessions between characters though they don’t all go to plan and don’t all get the desired reaction.

Much as my heart went out to Hashimoto, I found it so realistic and genuine that one person may have all these memories of a person that mean so much to them and that they’ve held on to for a long time, but the other person may not hold the same memories or have even noticed. I did, however, love that Hashimoto didn’t give up and resolved to be herself more!

Another thing I love about this, as well as the plot and relationship progression, is that misunderstandings are still resolved fairly quickly and aren’t left to fester and be dragged out for ages!

All in all this is another excellent volume in what’s turning out to be a really fun series!

This is not a long manga to read. In fact, I found it funny at times! Just reading and seeing the characters develop over time makes reading this manga series all the more fun. I feel that the author definitely wants readers to feel as though they are a high schooler again and to experience what it was like again with the hilarity and the seriousness of the situations that the characters get themselves in and are presented to. And the author does a great job of doing that through the artwork and with the characters growing into their unique selves.
I love the artwork, it is more in tune to what I grew up with and its looks more modern.
Overall, I cannot wait to read the next manga and I look forward to the rest of the series.

What happens when Aoki and Hashimoto get brave? More mishaps, of course!

There’s nothing wrong with a little predictability now and then. These sure are fun :)

This felt like a very comedy-heavy volume, but looking back, I realize quite a bit of progress was made by the end. Aoki and Hashimoto have both started to be more honest and open about their true feelings with their respective crushes. Aoki and Ida have even advanced to the stage of starting to date! However, it's not as if Aoki's anxieties and overthinking have suddenly been solved with just that. Ida is someone who doesn't show much of his emotions on his face, which is a complete contrast to Aoki. Between that and Ida's more quiet personality, it leaves Aoki wondering if he's the only one who's actually invested or enjoying the idea of them dating. I was glad to see that Ida was quite upfront and honest about how he has also been watching Aoki for some time now, so that the two could feel more at ease.

Hashimoto was finally able to tell Aida how she felt, as well. Even if it didn't go as "well" as Aoki's confession this volume (ignoring how he fell from a cliff), it was great to see her really starting to move forward and show her determination. The two of them continue to be hilarious friends with similar weaknesses who do their best to cheer each other on. Also, I really like this series' focus on starting out as friends or getting to know each other before diving into "I'm in love with you!!" It feels a lot more realistic and healthy.

The facial expressions are still one of my favorite parts of this series. I can't get enough of Aoki's crazy faces and Hashimoto's deadpan stare.

I've been really enjoying this series! Looking forward to the next volume.

Another great volume! I LOVE where this story is going, and I love seeing the characters relationships change amd blossom. I highly recommend this series for all romance manga fans!

Probably my least favourite volume of the series so far due to the abruptly surreal school-trip storyline but still a strong, enjoyable instalment. I'm consistently so endeared by Hinekure's ability to balance romance with belly-laughs in a way that compliments their characterisation and doesn't totally undermine the occasional emotional tension. My Love Mix-Up remains my go-to recommend for slice-of-life/romance manga readers and fans of titles like Heartstopper - I'm so fond of the whole ensemble (yes, especially endearingly awkward Aoki and sweetly gentle Ida) and am so excited to see what happens next.

A class trip to a ski resort tips the scales as Aoki confronts what he feels for Ida and Hashimoto and Aida reach a new understanding.

This continues to be a light romance of mishaps and misunderstandings. Ida is much deeper than the reader (or Aoki) expects. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I love the humor and lightheartedness of this manga. It is a slow burn, but I find that as part of its appeal. I am looking forward to what happens with the characters. I love the art style and the friendships and love interests in this manga series!

Another installment devoured! Seriously I read the first three books in one evening because I enjoyed them so much. Ready for there to be a smooch though.
