This book was great. It took me a couple chapters to get into it but after that I read it straight through in one sitting. Loved the plot and premise. It was nice to see a romance with the sweet guy who’s always there for her and not with the mysterious aloof who doesn’t deserve her. I was hoping for more of her defending him against his family but it was still a great read without. Happy reading.

This story was better than I thought it would be. I’ve read a lot of similar books, but this story stood out because of the depth of the story line. It would have been 5 stars, but I thought Marlee was annoying at times. Tyler was sweet, but I wish he should have stood up for himself more. I would be interested in reading more from this author/series. Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC.

3.5 stars for a quick fun read...

A good storyline and good characters.

Marlee and Tyler - I felt both of them way younger (she's a decade younger than me? Oh when did I grow so old!!) and even thought oh how immature.. but it felt a bit realistic since many of us were at that age..

I will surely read the next in series.

I though it was going to be more heavy on the romance, but it’s more her story. How she thinks romance and relationship should be. How she’s pinning for one of her coworkers for three years. <br />H is one of her BFF but she doesn’t see him in a romance way for half of the book. We can see and feel that he’s in love with her but wants to keep her in his life so it’s not trying to romance her. He’s really sweet and kind and he’s always doing things for her. Sometimes I was frustrated with her. She was hurting him because she was selfish and could get her head out of her ass, but she has more things going on her life so I get her. She is 25 I think. My favorite part It’s obv him. He’s an amazing friend, smart, funny and caring. The characters are charming and I think it’s impossible not to fall in love with Tyler; he’s so sweet, even if he doesn’t like that adjective applied to him.
Marlee is in love with love and sometimes I’d like to hit her in the head for being so obtuse, but she’s got a cute personality, too, so it makes you like her as well.
Feel good romance with some intense misunderstandings and fake dating… love it!

I had the pleasure of reading this book as an ARC read, thanks to NetGalley and Lazy Dog Books publisher, in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This book is funny, entertaining, steamy, and fun. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and the pacing of the book. I’m also a sucker for rom-com books and this one fit my craving perfectly.

This book contains the following tropes: office romance, slow burn, friends-to-lovers, fake-relationship, one bed.

Marlee, an executive assistant at a tech company, found herself dateless to her best friend Alicia’s wedding, and even worse, Cooper, the man she’d been heavily crushing on for the last three years was taking someone else. Tyler, her best buddy, offers to attend Alicia’s wedding as Marlee’s plus one with a plan to fake-date, in hopes of making Cooper jealous. Through small moments of charm and support, Marlee questions her feelings but refuses to jeopardize her friendship with Tyler. Marlee’s disabled father with Alzheimer’s also proves to be a stressor for her as she struggles to care for him while maintaining her full time job. Can Marlee make the right choices?

I absolutely adore Marlee and Tyler. Marlee is witty and smart and caring, going above and beyond to be present for her colleagues, bosses, friends, and father. Tyler is dependable, smart, nerdy; and caring. I admired Marlee’s compassion and love for her father and how she desperately wanted to keep him comfortable at home and do right by him. I respected her role as her father’s caretaker, and felt her pain when her father mistook her for her deceased mother. This book tugged on my heartstrings and had me franticly turning the pages to find out what happened next.

Highly recommend, 5/5

A cute fast read. Marlee reads romance novels hoping to find her own happily ever after, but then life falls apart. It was sad about her dad and that she felt like she had to abandon romance. The heat between her and Tyler was exciting. One thing did irritate me, Tyler coasts try referring to her as princess. It just annoyed me each time it happened.

I loved this book all about a friends to lovers romance (my favourite trope) which is slightly different as our heroine thinks she’s actually in love with someone else and has our hero helping her trying to bag him. Our hero was so lovely and sweet that I just wanted to shake our heroine at times to get her to notice him. My only complaint with this story is the ending is too explicit and detracted from how sweet the rest of the story had been, though you could just skip half of the last chapter to ignore that bit if you wanted as it didn’t add anything to the story

I love the bright and cheery cover. Friend Me is a friends to more romance in an office setting. Marlee is an exceptional executive assistant. She is crushing on executive Cooper Fallon and decides that she needs to make her intentions known. Her friend Tyler suggests using jealously and offers to be her date to the wedding of her boss. But super sweet Tyler confuses her intentions with a kiss that sparks fireworks inside her. I like the story but had a few issues with the pacing. Tyler is a little quick to over-react when he's been in on the plan since the beginning. Also Marlee gets over her crush very quickly (almost in one scene).

I did like the extra storyline of Marlee being a care-giver to her father. That is a real life burden that many people have to deal with. But it seems unrealistic that she could make all the changes that she needs to, find a place for her father, list and pack her house and move all within a very short time period. This is the second in the Synergy Workplace series with the fourth coming out in two weeks. I read easily as a stand alone but if you don't want to have spoilers of who ends up with who start from the first book. It is a slow burn romance but once you get there the steam factor is high. I also downloaded a free second epilogue form the author that also sizzles. Thank you to NetGalley, Lazy Dog Books and the author for an ebook in exchange for an honest review.
