This was a super sweet friends to lovers sports romance. I loved the slow-burn and the storyline itself was really enjoyable.

This one had all the tropes I love in a book and I dived into it very excited to read, however I did struggle to make my way through it until I eventually had to DNF it.

I didn’t really get on with Bree as a character which made it a little hard to read and I felt like things got dragged out a bit. I ended up quite frustrated and eventually had to drop it.

The Cheat Sheet is my second book from Sarah Adams after enjoying When in Rome earlier last year.

The story follows friends Bree and Nathan. Nathan is a famous quarterback and Bree, his best friend accidentally lets slip to the wrong person that she has massive feelings for him. Queue lots of speculation about their romance followed by a contract!

There is a lot of chemistry between the characters and I always find there’s an added angst when there’s a fake relationship thrown in the mix giving that forced romance vibe. There’s an undeniable pull between the characters however it’s closed door so spice level is lower if that’s your thing!

This is a sports romance/fake relationship/friends to lovers so if that sounds up your street give this one a try.

I'm absolutely gutted that I just dnf-ed this book.

This had all the tropes I love but I just could not get into this story. I really didn't like Bree and I kept trying to read this and couldn't. I also felt that parts were just on the edge of being cringy for me and I avoid that feeling at all costs.

I'm definitely in the minority for this one as so many people loved it!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A very fluffy friends to lovers romance. Basically zero external conflict and just a lot of the FMCs internal thoughts as to why she can’t date her best friend. Nathan’s POV was better, and I enjoyed his teammates helping him come up with ways to woo Brie. Also listened to the audiobook and the narration is stellar!

I love a friends-to-lovers/fake-dating trope. It is my absolute favourite. A slow burn romance that is a bit cheesy, a bit predictable but still super sweet and could easily be read in one day.

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. My first by Sarah Adams and certainly not my last.⁣

A super sweet friends to lovers Sports Romance. This is the cute story of Bree and Nathan, friends since childhood, they are now in their late twenties and still harbouring massive crushes on each other, whilst the other is totally unaware! ⁣

Nathan is a professional quarterback, so you would expect him to be a typical jock, with a massive ego! But he is just the sweetest person who totally adores Bree and will do anything for her.⁣

A slow burn romance, which I’m not usually a fan of, but no apologies, I complete adored this book!⁣

A super easy read which I devoured in a day on holiday. Is it predictable and cheesy in parts? Yes! But it was just what I was looking for!⁣

Thanks to Netgalley and Headline and for a copy of this adorable book.

A love story that makes you swoon. The dual POV of the characters who love each other so much but worry so much about each other too. I loved the romance cheat sheet and seeing them work there way through it. Also loved the fact that Nathan was head over heels willing to risk it all first. It’s a sweet love story with a stunning happy ever after.

This story was a sweet friends-to-lovers and I'm positive a lot of people loved it.
I enjoyed it, but it wasn't my cup of tea in regards to lack of spice.. I think it needed that kick!
However, the characters and story were enjoyable, and it was well written!
The book didn't make me completely fall in love and keep thinking about it though, as I finished it a couple weeks ago and have only just got round to reviewing it!
Will post more thorough reviews to my insta and goodreads: readingat_theinsomniabungalow

One of the better friends to lovers romances.
The chemistry between these two characters is palpable and I gobbled this up like candy.
This has zero smut so if you don't enjoy sex scenes you will absolutely enjoy this.

I thought that the use of dual POVs was very well executed and needed here, and it made the book extra enjoyable – I guess it reminded me of pantomime’s where the audience can see the whole pictures, but the actors are oblivious. Reading about Bree thinking that Nathan sees her as nothing more than a friend, when we actually knew he had some pretty unholy thoughts about her, and vice versa, was fun. I felt myself impatiently wanting a love confession. But that being said, I did unfortunately at times, feel that the miscommunication trope got to a stage where it was a bit frustrating, which is why I cannot bring myself to give the book a five-star rating. When they eventually got together, I was ecstatic – they really were made to be. Also, how cool is it that Spotify just by mere coincidence started playing ‘Everything Has Changed’ by Taylor Swift when the couple had their first romantic kiss? (And yes, I listen to music while I read – the girls that get it, get it) I genuinely found their relationship to be beautiful; Nathan accepts Bree the way she is, and in fact sees her in a much better light than she sees herself.

I also really loved the anxiety representation in this book – especially in regard to male mental health. I thought it was very refreshing to read about that, and get an insight into how men feel, but I also thought those scenes served an important message – men shouldn’t be embarrassed of their mental health struggles.

I did, however, feel a little disappointment at the lack of ethnic diversity in the book, I do think that could have made the book stronger.

Nevertheless, this was a great read, and I will definitely be reading it again. I thought Bree and Nathan had a beautiful relationship, full of acceptance – and that is what love is all about, someone who accepts you the way you are, and loves you for the way you are.

Nathan is in love with Bree. Bree is in love with Nathan. But they have put each other in the friendzone. So when an incident leads them to fake dating, this is the opportunity they have both been waiting for.

I cringed at the quarterbacks creating The Cheat Sheet, but I also squealed inside like a 12-year-old schoolgirl; for an author to mix your emotions up in one scene shows talent!

This narrative had everything you could ask for, tension, vulnerability and all the romance. This is split between the characters of Nathan and Bree, majority Bree, but this does not take away from the storyline, and the balance is perfect. I genuinely could not get enough.

I loved every single character, even the ones we are suggested to dislike. The vulnerability, that is touched upon, through the themes of anxiety, depression and mental health had just the right feel to keep this novel light.

This is a brilliant novel, with a witty and flowing narrative. Characters you will 100% fall in love with and a novel you will want to read again and again.

I had been looking forward to reading Sarah Adam’s The Cheat Sheet. This book is an absolute joy. It’s a warm hug of a romance that also had me literally (and I’m not even ashamed to say it) snorting with laughter. I loved every minute of reading it.

The Cheat Sheet is a wonderful friends to lovers romance that also has the complimentary fake dating trope. It centres on Bree and Nathan who have known each other since school and are best friends, only Bree is hopelessly in love with Nathan. Whilst out celebrating a friends birthday together Bree, after a fair few tequilas, accidentally spills her secrets to a TMZ reporter. One viral video later and Bree and Nathan end up fake dating. Will Bree finally act on her feelings and is Nathan hiding some of his own?

As main characters I loved both Bree and Nathan. The beauty of friends to lovers is that we get to enjoy what is already a wonderful and solid relationship between them from the get go. The trust and support they have in and for each other was so special. The tension builds up, and positivity sizzles as you progress through the book. This is a closed door romance but I actually thought that worked perfectly for these characters.

Adams’ didn’t write Bree and Nathan as ‘perfect’ characters. They each have their own vulnerabilities and flaws, but what is special about them is that they are accepting of each other, neither trying to change the other, instead aiming to help and heal. With this in mind it’s worth noting that anxiety, depression and panic attacks are a part of this story, but that they’re all very sensitively dealt with by Adams.

This book is very funny in so many places. Adam’s writing is slapstick gold. Whilst I don’t want to spoil anything, I think it’s safe to say we know that Nathan and his friends create a romance cheat sheet to try and woo Bree. When she arrives at his apartment unannounced, the scene that follows is just pure comedy gold and one of the funniest things I’ve read in ages.

I appreciated how Adam’s explained in her Q&A at the end that she wanted to create a dynamic amongst Nathan and his teammates that highlighted the strength of their friendships and was anti-toxic masculinity in its culture. The relationships between these men, and indeed their interactions with Bree, was just a joy to read. They were so warm, positive and supportive but also able to have a laugh at each other without it being stereotypical toxic bravado.

Overall this was such a fun book and one I’d certainly recommend.

I love a good friends to lovers book! It was so cute and wholesome. Some scenes were very cheesy though I didn’t mind it. I was rooting for Bree and Nathan from the start and love that it’s duel POV. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this.

Although I found that this book was very cheesy I did absolutely adore the way each of them pined for each other behind the other's back. The writing style was beautiful and I loved the pacing of this book which built and built on the relationship of the characters which makes you more invested when they do get together. I think the main male lead is now my book crush, I would love to own a physical copy of this and I would probably hug this when I sleep. This was charming and witty with many relatable characteristics and mentality. I love a sports romance so this was an absolute gem of a book for me and I will read more from Sarah Adams. I liked that the males were respectful of the main female lead and how although she's quirky they like it which I really did like, the female lead reminds me of me which is what I liked.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Just her presence in this room feels like finally getting hooked up to oxygen after days of not being able to breathe deeply.”

I was nervous going in to this one because it is so hyped on Bookstagram and BookTok, but oh my god what a cute read! This was cheesy in the best way possible and read just like a Hallmark movie. I laughed out loud and “awwww”ed multiple times throughout reading.

If a book contains fake dating, mutual pining and is friends-to-lovers, I am likely to love it, and this was no exception. Although the writing may not be for everyone, it was definitely something that I enjoyed, it was totally escapist and I love a book that can take me out of reality for a while.

To sum up, this book had no right being so adorable. If you are looking for an innocent, light and fluffy read, with no spice at all, definitely pick this one up

A very cute best friends to lovers romance with a lot of funny and romantic moments.

I thought the relationship dynamic between Bree and Nathan was super cute and I adored it right from the beginning.

I feel like there could of been a little more angst and more of a climax to maybe make the plot a little more interesting but that’s all.

Overall, an adorable read and very lighthearted and funny.

Will post review on instagram on 27th April
