I enjoyed The Serial Killer’s Wife; so I was really excited for this book. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t as good as the first one. I couldn’t stand Jenny or Mark. It was difficult to keep reading this one not liking any of the main characters. The story wasn’t as good as the first one either.

I absolutely loved the serial killer wife, so when I saw that Alice had released this I knew I had to read it, and what a read it was!! I was hooked from start to finish. Alice has a way of really bringing all her characters to life. The plot is fast paced, and nail biting right to the very end. I could not put this one down. Absolutely loved it!

Oh my! I thought The Serial Killer's Wife was good but Alice Hunter has really turned up the heat for The Serial Killer's Daughter. Told from multiple viewpoints, we follow the story of Jenny, a vet in a small Devon village. Married with two children, life is pretty good for her, despite the secret that she has kept hidden for many years. As a woman goes missing and strange things start happening to Jenny, she wonders if her past is catching up with her.

This is a book that kept pace throughout, and although I could guess a couple of things, I certainly hadn't worked out everything. I read this book quickly, gripped by the story. This deserves to be another huge success for Alice Hunter. I don't know if there are other books planned in the same vein but Alice Hunter could write The Serial Killer's Second Cousin and still make it work!

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Here we meet Jen, who is married to Mark, and they have two children. Jen is a vet and has a lovely house, and all seems perfect. Except underneath it all, everything seems like it might fall apart at the seams. And when a local lady from their village goes missing, Jen is sure she has nothing to do with it. But can she be really sure?

This was a great book from this author. The chapters were short but packed, which is always welcome. The vibe from the book is creepy, atmospheric, and is quite perfect for the up and down emotion of the story. The characters were on point and relatable, even down to the coven of gossipy mums in the playground. Jen was a likeable character, and I wanted the best outcome for her as she’s had such a rough time, her husband on the other hand was suitably irritating for this story. There were some twists in this story, and the ending was satisfying. Highly recommended.

A worthy follow-up to the first book, The Serial Killer's Wife, which was amazing. Devoured it. This one was a little more slow burning in the beginning, but still gripped me and kept me reading. Great book - looking forward to the next one!

This novel is a fairly standard crime mystery/thriller.

It's a decent read, quite compelling, but doesn't stay in your mind after finishing it.

I think of books like this as the literary equivalent of a bag of chips.

I literally couldn’t put this book down from the moment I picked it up. A serial killers daughter who lives with horrible memories and nightmares. Then some weird things start to happen - who is doing this to her? Literally had me on the edge of my seat until the end. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Not going to lie, when I requested this one I had no idea it was a sequel so obviously I had to buy the first one. Needless to say this book was amazing! It definitely lived up to expectations from book 1!

Fantastic read. I am a huge fan of Alice's earlier book The Serial Killer's Wife so was really looking forward to this one. And it did not disappoint. Kept me hooked until the last page.

Jenny is trying to escape her past, and has so far done a good job. She has two young children, Ella and Alfie, and a husband, Mark, that she adores. But one day, Jenny wakes up from a black out, and later that day, it’s revealed that Mark’s affair partner has gone missing…

I enjoyed this book, though not as much as The Serial Killer’s Wife. It was a bit more of a slow start, and required me to suspend a bit more disbelief. However, it was enjoyable.

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Publishing for the opportunity to review this arc in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Entertaining but not as easy to enjoy as rhe first book.
This is a very dark tale, and whereas the village/practice life is fine, when it moves ro darker topics it gets very grim.
Kenny isn't who she seems to be and when she suffers blackouts it puts her forward as suspect when her husband's wx girlfriend is missing.
It doesn't stop there it goes deeper and deeper until all is gloom and death.
I don't think I'd have begun it knowing this, but once started it's impossible to leave even when much disturbs but nothing actually happens for quite a while

I really enjoyed this and thought it a great follow on from the serial killers wife.
Jenny has made a new life for herself trying to forget the events of the past. Married with a daughter and a successful vet with her own business yet her past comes back to haunt her.
She suffers with blackouts and strange things start to happen.
Is she following on in her father's footsteps? You'll need to read the book to find out!

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books, and Alice Hunter for this advanced read. SO good. I am motivated to read the author’s other book as soon as possible.
I love a book where I do not know what is going on; it keeps me reading and, in this case, I finished this book in one day. The plot kept me guessing and sometimes I was right and sometimes not. The plot was twisty enough to keep my attention. The writing is fast paced and easy to read without too much descriptive or other detours from the main story.
The characters are not entirely likeable and even though I didn’t bond with any of them, they seemed like real flawed human beings with secrets to be discovered. They are not particularly deeply developed, and the action is definitely center stage. The reader is not sure who is a reliable narrator and to be honest, I didn’t think any of them were. I was so motivated to keep reading to discover who the ultimate bad guy was going to be.
The title is a bit misleading; this is not a book about a serial killer but the impact of growing up as the child of one. I thought that was a very original premise as we don’t usually get this perspective in a novel.
I look forward to more from this new to me author and will definitely pick up her next novel in anticipation of an entertaining read.

The Serial Killer’s Daughter by Alice Hunter

Jenny has been hiding her darkest secret from everyone including her husband for almost twenty years. No one knows who her father is or what kind of childhood upbringing she had, not her husband, Mark, or any of her colleges at work or anyone in her small country town and Jenny wants it to stay that way. But then Olivia goes missing, the same Olivia that Jenny hates because she had a brief affair with Mark. And everything about Olivia’s disappearance starts to point to Jenny’s father, who is still in jail.

I enjoyed loved this book very much, I did not read the first book in the serious but it was not hard to understand what was going on or the history behind the story.

I would like to thank Net Galley and Avon Books UK for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Wow, this book totally threw me off course! A surprising and intelligent read telling the story of a woman whose father is a known serial killer and her getting involved in a murder investigation. Highly recommend it!

The Serial Killers Daughter by Alice Hunter is a gritty psychological thriller.
This book fell flat for me. I think it had great promise, but the characters weren't developed and the story line was quite predictable.

There were several twists, but again they were expected.

I had big expectations for this book after reading the serial killer’s wife, and although it was not as past faced as the author’s first book, it was still an enjoyable read. The premise was very good, but on my opinion the tension dropped after the first chapters., although I liked the twist at the end.

Really enjoyed this thriller. Kept me guessing who done it. I felt sorry for Jenny with having to deal with thinking she's got evil genes from her father and him having messed up her mind, then with her insane mother aswell. Great read.

The Serial Killer’s Daughter by Alice Hunter
Genre: Domestic thriller, Psychological suspense, Mystery
Ratings:3.5 stars

This book is standalone and has no connection to the first book.
The title first caught my attention, but the brief completely sold me. Alice hunter created a compelling, thriller, psychological story which made me think about the story even when I was not reading it.
The story follows Jenny, whose father was known as the Painted Lady Killer responsible for murdering several women when Jenny was a child. Now married to Mark, and a successful vet, Jenny is trying desperately to escape a past that won’t let go. When a woman goes missing and strange events start occurring, Jenny begins to question her own actions and sanity.
The novel had a very promising start, however, the chapters being too short did make me lose interest a few times.
Overall I really enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books, and Alice Hunter for giving me the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
