The Hotel on the Riviera is another sizzling read by Carol Kirkwood.
In short, Greek heiress Ariana Theodosis inherits the Hotel du Soleil on the French Riviera as part of a mysterious legacy left by her beloved grandmother.
This story is an easy, well written, big dose of escapism read with plenty of glamour and drama…it’s the perfect beach read. I’ve read both of Carol’s books and look forward to reading her next.
Big thanks to Carol Kirkwood, HarperCollins and NetGalley for this eARC which I chose to read in return for my honest review.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
The storyline was fairly predictable in this clean romantic read. The setting was lovely, gorgeous descriptions of the area and foods with simple French phrases scattered throughout to emphasise the atmosphere of luxurious living. I liked the characters and thought they were credible. My only criticism was the frequency of American spellings throughout the narrative - for a British writer and a European setting this jarred, leading me to reduce my rating by one star.

Carol's books never fail to captivate. Although this book is set on the French Riviera, I was pleased that it touches down briefly in my beloved Greece. Once again, a fascinating yet heart-breaking story of how the other half live - and how they can suffer the same heartbreak as everyone else. An entertaining read.

The Hotel on the Riviera - Carol Kirkwood
- 3.75 stars given on Storygraph -

This is the second book of Kirkwood's that I have read and I really enjoyed it. I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did since it's not the usual story that I read.
I think I enjoyed Under A Greek Moon (the first of the two books) more than this one. I think that the previous story felt like a magical escape and I felt more attached to the characters. Kirkwood still creates loveable characters and fantastic scenes in this second book and I would still highly recommend.

'The Hotel on the Riviera' is is a beautifully written romance, vividly depicting the life changes of its characters, and their splendid (though in some instances faded!) settings. The story intrigues and engrosses, and it's a great holiday read, for any time one wants an escape into another world.

A follow on from Under a Greek Moon.
Sad events take Ariana (the spoilt daughter from Book 1),to the Hotel Du Soleil on the French Riviera. Meets old and new faces; stumbles upon Gabriel , who wants to keep the hotel within his own family- but Ariana is yet to uncover family secrets.
She also meets top actors Liz and Robert Chappell who bring more glitz and glamour to the story.
This is a fun and easy read - nice to betaken away from everyday life - we can all dream! Can't wait for Volume 3.

I enjoyed The Hotel on the Riviera.

It's the first book I have read by Carol Kirkwood.

Set in the South of France, the protagonist is glamour.ous It girl Ariana Theodosis who inherits the Hotel du Soleil on the French Riviera after the death of her beloved grandmother.

However, the taking on of the ownership is not straightforward as the previous owners are still living there and the son Gabriel du Lac is not giving up the hotel without a fight.

There's quite a few subplots within the overall story and different characters to get to know.

The novel has a prominent theme running throughout of secrets and there is also a lot of glitz and stardom.

There's some terrific scene setting, and I felt transported to the gorgeous French Riviera.

Some parts were a little predictable, but it was an enjoyable easy read.
