I loved the authors last book which transported me to beautiful sunny climes. This book was no different. The story centres around Ariana and her wealthy family. Through an inheritance it brings Ariana into contact with Gabriel Du Lac and his family. What happens next is a tale of secrets and lies, with the truth needing to be uncovered.

I love how the author describes her character so vividly, that you almost feel as if you know them.

The story weaves seamlessly between the past and the present. It is based in the South of France and also the beautiful Ithos in Greece, transporting you to stunning places, making it a perfect summer read.

A lovely read, set in the south of France. Ariana inherits a hotel when her yaya dies. She has previously lived a hedonistic life in LA. This is her chance to turn her life around.
Gabriel and his family thought they had inherited the hotel when his father died. All is not as anyone expected however.
Beautiful descriptions of scenery and clothes make this a lovely read. Very refeshing to read a book that is not full of unnecessary sex scenes.

Perfect accompaniment to a beach holiday. A Greek heiress inherits a hotel her family didn't know about; she decides to make it a project, but has to deal with the previous owners who are reluctant to change anything. Although the outcome is predictable, it is well-written, with rounded characters, and will prove popular on many a summer break.

With thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins for an ARC.

Thank you to #NetGalley and#HarperCollins for my copy of #TheHotelOnTheRiviera by #CarolKirkwood.
This book follows on from Carols first book Under a Greek Moon.
It is so easy to read light and perfect for a beach read or curled up in front of the fire.
Escapism at its best.

My goodness Carol didn’t disappoint with her second book it had everything. Well written and had me hooked from the start.

Ariana is trying to be a successful actress but has come home as her Grandmother is dying. Ariana has been left money plus an hotel in Cannes which the family knew nothing about. Ariana decides to go to the hotel in Cannes and see if she can run it. She meets Gabriel and his family there who cannot understand why Ariana owns the hotel.

There is intrigue and mystery in this book also romance. I enjoyed every minute of reading this book.

Would certainly recommend this book.

Hope Carol Kirkwood writes more books.

I loved this book, it was a perfect read over an August bank holiday weekend.
Set in Cannes this book transports you to the glitz and glamour of the French Riviera.
Yes it's clichéd in parts, yes the characters are slightly pantomimesque and the plot doesn't leave you gasping with twists and turns BUT it's a good story, it does keep you interested and the descriptions do transport you there...most of all it was easy to read and the chapters flew by.
There was a little mystery, some romance and lots of references to yummy food. I have yearning to go to France now!

Thanks to @harpercollinsuk via @netgalley for their copy of the book.

A rich tale of love and loss. When Ariana inherits a run-down hotel with a resident widow in the penthouse she doesn't bargain on the mystery surrounding two families. Beautifully descriptive and capturing the Riviera coastline in all its sparkling beauty. I loved this book and could not put it down, will look forward to reading more from Carol.

Having read the previous book in this series I was looking forward to reading this one. I found the story intriguing. I liked all of the characters immediately and found that they seemed really lifelike. There are several storylines running through the book and although it was a little tricky to remember who was who at the start, I did enjoy this aspect of the book as it gave more substance and prevented it from feeling like a drawn out singular story and helped the characters to feel more real as they are all linked to one another. I did find that certain elements were unbelievable particularly with the speed that Ariana and Gabriel became so close and any suspicion about Gabriel’s interest was very quickly ignored. That was the only negative for me.

Unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of reading the first book in the series but did not feel this second book detracted anything form the storyline so was a good standalone story. What a great read which I got totally lost into, meaning I was reading into the small hours! What a great author Carol Kirkwood is. I can't wait for her next book but in the meantime I will read her first book as it will be good to see where it all started.

I loved this second book from Carol Kirkwood. The perfect sequel to Under a Greek Moon following the Theodosis family. A must read this summer.

Ariana inherits an hotel on the French riviera and meets Gabriel who has no intention of giving up his family hotel to a stranger. Set amidst glamour and wealth, a delightful escapist read. Perfect for the beach or curled in an armchair.

A great mixture of the rich and famous in the South of France. Whilst the characters are interlinked it doesn't stop the flow of the story.
Great descriptions of the landscapes of both Greece and France, which helps support this easy to read book.

Thank you #harpercollins for allowing me to read this ARC. I am so thrilled to have read book #2 by Carol Kirkwood. I loved book #1 so my expectations were high. Carol certainly didn't disappoint. Some sad events take Ariana to Hotel Du Soleil on the Rivera. We meet old and new faces, Stumble upon the very handsome Gabriel who desperately wants to keep the hotel within his own family and is yet to uncover some family secrets.
We meet top actors Liz and Rob Chappell. who bring even more glitz and glamour to the story as well as many designer labels . Such a fun and easy read, just right for this hot weather, it was nice to be stolen away into a life far removed from my own. One can dream. I am super excited for the next instalment and can hardly wait.

A great holiday read as you might imagine with the title! Spoilt, rich girl comes good and saves the day (or hotel). It is also not giving too much away to say that she gets the guy as well.

Set in the South of France, Carol Kirkwood's second story follows her début, Under a Greek Moon, and it is a compelling read full of glamour. Ariana Theodosis inherits the Hotel du Soleil on the French Riviera after the death of her beloved grandmother, but she is not alone in believing she is the owner. Gabriel du Lac, the current hotelier is still in residence there.

The novel has a prominent theme running throughout of secrets and there is also a lot of glitz and stardom. The characterisation is really strong although at first, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy the main characters. However, they grew on me and I enjoyed their dynamism. The tale also contains some terrific scene setting from the author and I really felt as though I was present in the locale. Well worth a look, I have been inspired to read Under a Greek Moon if time allows.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from HarperCollins via NetGalley and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

A tale of glitz and glamour set in the South of France. A bit superficial in places but the story holds up and I really liked the characters and cared what happened to them. Just right for beach, pool side or garden. Easy to read.
