A very well-crafted book. It is set in the time frame of the pandemic. The author beautifully depicts the effects of the restrictions both in London and Tuscany. Living myself, in a provincial town I hadn't given a thought to how desolate capital cities might seem without the usual bustle. Reluctant at first to take up his inheritance of a Tuscan farm, Matt is carried along by Dani's enthusiasm. Once in Italy however he becomes controlling. Dani is handicapped by her inability to understand more than the basics of the Italian language. One of the most enjoyable books I have read this year.

Danielle and Matt are living in London, struggling through the pandemic, when they find out that Matt has been left a Tuscan farm by his great uncle. They decide to relocate their lives to Italy, and restore the farmhouse to its former glory. Dani's main aim is to replace the delapidated pool with an infinity pool, but what secrets will the house and land give up during their renovations?

It was an interesting premise, having the book chapters written from Dani's point of view, interspersed with chapters entitled "The Hitchiker". As the book progresses, the reader understands these chapters more and more, and I thought the slow drip of clarity was well done.

I did find the crossovers sometimes confusing (as it seems did the author at times, when character names or facts were not quite in the right place) and the story just didn't keep my attention fully. The location however was beautiful, the descriptions made me crave the Italian countryside!

The images that this book evokes really are just masterful. It was a but if a slow burn, not much really happens and I spent a pot of time waiting for something to actually start but...... it didn't really. So as a thriller, it didn't rate too highly for me but it was still a complex and engaging story split into two separate narratives which does leave you wondering. The characters were well rounded and fleshed out and I did stick with it til then end and found it an enjoyable story. Just.... not when I'm looking for a thriller. As a general fiction about the Italian countryside however, its a winner and you can almost feel that got dry sun beating down and smell the fresh olives and tomatoes as you read

The Infinity Pool by Claire S. Lewis is a wondeful thrilling ride of a story.
The characters were really written well and developed wonderfully. The author added some amazing twits in this story.
Overall, a good, quick, twisty novel.

Loved this book. It was like having two stories in one. The storyline kept me engaged throughout, wondering whether the two storylines were going to collide, and if the did at what point. The main story about Danielle and Matt, and the other about the hitchhiker. I found it very well written with just enough descriptions to imagine myself in an old farmhouse in Tuscany. The characters are all very complex almost teasing the reader to see through them, with the snippets of information and the odd misdirection. The ending was amazing. So often they can be disappointing but this one really delivered. Brilliant.

I loved this book, especially the evocative atmosphere of Italy which the author creates. I found the book-within-a-book narrative structure compelling and it reminded me of Nocturnal Animals. The way in which the author blurs the boundaries between the real and the imagined, drawing parallels between Matt and Ted, Danielle and Nikki, was both engaging and unsettling.

I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review

I loved this one. Very fast paced, had me turning pages as I tore through it – I had to see how it would end. The characters were well rounded and the narrative felt believable. Gave me chills. Solid five

This book was definitely not gripping or thrilling. The pace was far too slow and not engaging at all. I plodded on in hope but it failed to deliver much.

This is definitely a slow burner of a thriller but the pace and tension intensified when the drama did. it was well written with good characters and a good story premise. there were some good twists also. I would have preferred a faster pace but it was still an enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I couldn't really get into this book. I thought it was rather slow and dragged out. I was more irritated by the back and forth between the two stories in the beginning, but as the book progressed, I saw what the author was doing. Some shocks toward the end, but still skimmed this more than anything.
