Fabulous guide to all things NetGalley, reviews and social media.
This book is a wonderful introduction to how to effectively use NetGalley and the social media platforms available today and how to catch other peoples interest on social media

This Book Advocate Toolkit has some great tips for both NetGalley beginners and experienced reviewers. One of the most essential tips is: Fight Temptation! Avoid the request spree.” I know too well the fallout from requesting too many books and being approved for more than you expected, as I’m still trying to clear my backlog! The advice to keep your profile updated is another great one.
The tips on creating a critical review were also very helpful. The section on promoting reviews on social media was also really well done. I gleaned quite a few good tips from that section, including that it’s generally just fine to make a post that announces you’ve been approved for a particular book. This would be great for books that you are really looking forward to reading and were excited to get an approval for, but for which the publication date is fairly far away.
For posting with hashtags, the tip to check out the hashtag before using it, is a critical one that I definitely use. Since I have no desire to use video platforms, I only skimmed those sections. Content planning tips were also helpful. I already have an Excel spreadsheet I use to track my NG books, but I may add a column to include notes of where I’ve posted and when. Currently I keep that information separately in text files with my full reviews.
I use PicCollage for my Instagram graphics but this toolkit gave a lot of space to another app called Canva, so I may check that one out too.
The advice to use CamelCase for hashtags is a good one, but I find that often IG will switch what you type to all lowercase, so you really have to work at keeping your hashtags in CamelCase.
The section on Accessibility struck a nerve with me! I have a friend whose eyesight is very poor and uses screen readers extensively. Thanks to the tips here I am going to start adding image descriptions to my posts!
All in all, a very good toolkit for reviewers!

Absolutely love this guide! So helpful-- I wish I had it when I first starting reviewing books! This book has everything you need to get comfortable writing and posting reviews as well as how to use each platform (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) best.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the comprehensive guide on how to become a book advocate. In clear steps and examples the guide provides directions on how to set up an account, post on social media, develop good review habits, etc. wish I found it when I was setting up my account, but better later than never. This is a wonderful resource for those new to NetGalley and a wonderful refresher for those who have been reviewing for a while.

Well, that was a bit helpful,
This is a great tool for beginners but being a year over here I would say there's nothing more helpful and just reading & reviewing what you love, keeping your account updated and tackling that TBR pike with a determination.
Mainly!!
Do Not Request book you don't want to read it if you don't have time for it 💞

I learned quite a bit from this toolkit. It helped me to identify things I could improve upon in a concise and informative format. Glad to have this to refer back to as well as I hope to continue implementing new ideas and improving. Thank you to NetGalley, this was definitely worth the read!

Wonderful toolkit! Wish it existed when I joined NetGalley a year ago, but I was still able to find some useful information here. This will be super handy for new users and those who are comfortable with one platform but are thinking about creating a profile on another one. Highly recommended!

An excellent toolbox with helpful reminders and hints. Something I will refer to on a regular basis as a reminder on some of the basics. There are a lot of articles to click as well and I need to go back to further explore those. Thank you NetGalley. This is extremely helpful!

Very helpful tips
I downloaded this book without high expectations. I've been using netgalley for a few years, and this seemed to be more geared towards newbies. However, I love this short toolkit! There are so many helpful tipps, so I will definitely go back to this from time to time. Well done, thank you for these tipps!

Really helpful guide. I'm new to NetGalley but I would like to grow an Instagram book reviewing page and this has really helped. Also, has good links to other articles which I didn't know about from the general website.
I much prefer to read everything on my Kindle than on my phone, so it would be great if this could have been in a format where it could be sent to a device.
Thanks for this guide, really enjoyed it as an introduction.

Very helpful guide! Gave me great ideas for my bookstagram account. Lots of things I did not know about how to make my page clearer with a better audience

A collection of useful tips that will be helpful for beginning book bloggers and reviewers. The content is well organized and the use of simple visuals adds to both the readability and interest.

This is a comprehensive resource of tips and tricks for becoming a book reviewer (or becoming a more effective book reviewer). Topics covered include getting started on NetGalley, how to write a good review, and different social media platforms with book-centric subcommunities like Bookstagram and BookTok.
I've been reviewing for a while now and I feel like I had to slowly figure out a lot of this stuff on my own. This download is very helpful. The information is organized into short, easy-to-understand snippets. Thank you so much for creating this!

Great pamphlet, thank you you sharing. Will definitely put some of the tips to use moving forward. Thank you netgalley!

This is such a helpful tool for book reviewers looking to expand across different platforms or improve their reviews. I love how the information was organized – it was engaging, informative, and cute! I also appreciate how the guide hyperlinks additional resources we can look into for topics we are particularly interested in. Thank you, NetGalley!

An interesting bundle of information whether you are a veteran reviewer or beginner. It's a very concise document that is pretty on the eyes and good for the brain.

*SPOILER FREE* I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to become part of the NetGalley community. Provided great advice on how to get start with your account, how to request books and keep your rating high on NetGalley ( which increases your chances of getting selected for books you want to read), and how to start a social media and blog site, and much more. I found the do's and don'ts of being a proper NetGalley user most helpful.

Thank you! I appreciate this document consolidating tips useful for those of us who advocate for books and request, read and review books via NetGalley. There is actually more than 30 pages of content since many topics also have a link for "more tips".

Thank you, We Are Bookish, for this guide! For someone like me who had just joined this platform earlier this month and who is fairly new to the book blogging/reviewing community in general, this was a helpful, concise guide. It covers the technicalities of reviewing books, exploring the basics of NetGalley, as well as promoting bookish sites and platforms! Many of these strategies be incorporated to how I approach NetGalley and other platforms going forward.

This guide helped me so much with my review and how to promote them. I hope to keep improving as I read more ARCs and make my way as a reliable reviewer.
