I did not see that coming! What a great page turner! I have loved the whole Rocky Mountain Courage series by Elizabeth Goddard, and was so excited for Critical Alliance to come out.

I loved the beautiful Montana setting for this 'what if" story of cybersecurity, hacking crimes and revenge.

I enjoyed the main characters: Mackenzie Hanson and her special skills as a professor of cybersecurity in Michigan, who was warned out of the blue by an old friend to head back to defend her family's tech business in Montana. And Diplomatic Security Services special agent Alex Knight who is back home in Montana for some time off after a recent mission ended badly. I enjoyed seeing all the characters from the previous books in Critical Alliance too.

Favorite quotes:
"He was the exact right person at the exact wrong time."
"Why was it sometimes easier to forgive others than it was to forgive oneself."
"Life has a way of coming up on us fast until we look back and realize we failed to treasure every moment."
"I told you I would come back when you least expected it. It was worth the wait to see the surprise in your eyes."

I highly recommend Critical Alliance. I really enjoy romantic suspense especially when I am kept guessing until the very end! Bravo Elizabeth Goddard!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and net galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

Amazing Read.
Mackenzie Hanson has a history of being a cyber wizard. So much so that now she is trying to leave the past behind her. Alex Knight works for a security services company as an agent. When a series of events leads the two together, Alex becomes the unofficial bodyguard for Mackenzie. The two must work together to find who is behind the attacks before time runs out.

Such a good book! I completely got lost in the story and loved every minute. Every time I thought I figured out the culprit, something happened. Had me to the last page. I am waiting not-very-patiently for the next book to get released! I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone!

Mackenzie Hanson's is a former hacker who returns to Montana to help her family's business Hantech, which is threatened by another hacker. DSS Special Agent Alex Knight is also in Montana to look into an issue for his family.. The two have met previously and so when they meet up Mackenzie tells Alex about the situation and Alex agrees to be her bodyguard and help her with the issues. Lots of intrigue and all kinds of federal and state law enforcement involvement. It is a mystery to the end. Action packed!

I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my own honest opinion.

This story introduces us to Mackenzie and Alex. Both are back in Montana, but for different reasons. She’s back to find out what’s going on with her family and what threat they are facing. Alex was told to take some time off and relax. Mackenzie needs Alex’s protection after someone tries to shoot her, and the story takes off from there with no looking back. Fascinating story the delves into cybercriminal activity. We see the old crew from the first 2 books, but books can be read as standalones. Constant action keep the pages turning while we try to piece together who could be behind the threats and the danger Mackenzie’s sister Nora could be in, as well as Mackenzie herself.
A complimentary copy was provided by Revell via NetGalley. A review was not required and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

"Critical Alliance", by Elizabeth Goddard, is an action-packed thriller. This book is the third novel in Goddard's "Rocky Mountain Courage" series. While I haven't read the other books, I didn't feel like I was necessarily missing any important details. This book centers around Mackenzie Hanson, whose family and friends are in danger when a cyber hacker tries to take down her family's tech company. Along the way, special agent Alex Knight decides to handle her protection, and sparks begin to fly.

It was hard to follow the technological aspects of this book, as I don't understand much about drone technology. However, the book was suspenseful and fun to read. I would have enjoyed a little more romance though. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This book is the final book in a trilogy. I must go back and read books one and two and the reread book three! I have not previously read anything by this author, but she is now in my favorites list!

The characters MacKenzie and Alex were totally believable. I enjoyed the mystery, action, romance and the use of cyber technology as part of the plot.

Recommend.

"Critical Alliance" by Elizabeth Goddard is a fantastic read! This is the third book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series, but this one can be read alone. This book follows Mackenzie, a professor of cybersecurity and Alex, a Diplomatic Security Service agent. Mackenzie receives a cryptic note about her father's company being under attack so she heads back to Montana. Alex is already there visiting family. Together they work together to try to figure out what is going on. I was really impressed with all the research the author did for this book. There were so many details about cybersecurity in this book.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

This is the third book in this series, and we do get, actually surprising, answers to some lingering questions from the beginning of this series!

This is Mackenzie and Alex's story, but it goes deeper, and your mind will be all over the place, and switching back again.

As the bodies fall, the need for answers, and whom can they trust? This is deep in artificial intelligence, we are dealing with cybersecurity and we need answers before it is to late!

We are given some sweet romance, along with a roller coast ride for answers! Yes, you will be page turning for answers!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

I have to begin this review by saying there is a lot of information in this book that was very technologically advanced and went right over my head. So, I felt a little stupid at my ignorance, but still enjoyed the story very much.

The main character, Mackenzie Hanson, is a whiz at computers and hacking. As a young teen, she got into trouble trying to play a modern-day Robin Hood. After paying her debt to society, she now a stable and well-adjusted adult. When she hears that her father's company is in trouble, she heads home to Montana to see if she can help. Right after her arrival, her brother dies. Was it an accident or murder? Alex Knight has also come home to Montana to take a break. Mackenzie asks Alex to protect her after strange and dangerous things begin to happen to her. Mackenzie has to determine who she can trust and figure out who is after her family.

I have read the first two books, and was glad to finally solve the mystery of who is vandalizing the memorial. A new reader should finish the first two so it all makes sense.

This is the 3rd book in the Rocky Mountain Courage series.

Alex and MacKenzie are on the hunt to stop a cybercriminal before it destroys the company that her dad built.

I did not know who the cybercriminal was until close to the end of the story--I just kept guessing but had no idea. This is the sign of a great suspense novel, it kept me turning the pages!

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Critical Alliance, kept me guessing throughout the whole book. You'll never guess who the bad guy is either. I'm so glad that Alex and Mackenzie got their second chance to reconnect. She chose the right man to rely on. Alex doesn't treat Mackenzie like some helpless female, I appreciated that. I really enjoyed reading, Critical Alliance.

# 3 Rocky Mountain Courage
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. Goddard's books go out well at our library and I am sure this one will be popular as well. This is an excellent book for those who enjoy mystery and a slight taste of romance. This book concludes the series in an outstanding way. If you are into cyber crime mysteries then this book is for you. It’s scary to see what can be done with a computer. This was a fast-paced mystery with a small amount of romance.
I highly recommend this book and series!

Elizabeth Goddard utilizes her pen like a weaver designs a tapestry—every stitch intricately connecting to the next to form a perfect picture—telling a story that transcends mere words.
Critical Alliance is just such a book. From the beginning I was drawn into the lives of Alex and Mackenzie, totally invested in the outcome of threats against Mackenzie’s life and family tech business as well as the mutual attraction between them.
Full of nonstop action from beginning to end, and multiple suspects it kept me on my toes. A totally “unputdownable” book that kept me up late into the night.
I like the thread of faith in the character’s lives and highly recommend this book.

This book may scare you a bit if you have a "smart car" or a "smart house". Cyber crimes are on the rise I'm sure. This book brings to light just how far a person might go to get revenge and not be detected because it's all done on the internet. The author keeps you guessing on who the bad guy is and throws in many red herrings. You may be surprised by the ending. It's not who you thought it was. The ending is well-fleshed out and not a quick ending. I like it when at the ending of the book, everything is explained. The characters are likable and the action is intense.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC for an honest review.

A good whodunit with lots happening in a short time span. The romance is a bit angsty but that fits based on everything going on. Those who love a good mystery with an equal romance will enjoy this novel.

This for me was the standout book in the Rocky Mountain Courage Series. While this can be read as a standalone book, I do suggest reading the series in order so that you know the stories of the side characters before reading this one.

I enjoyed the premise of the story and all the technical aspects of it. The heroine was a strong character who knew when to ask for help. It is exactly what I expect when I read Elizabeth's books - Romance, suspense and mystery.

I got this in exchange for an honest review. I recommend reading it and will be buying it for my library.
