I'm a big fan of walking, and Oxford is only about 40 minutes by car for me, so this was an obvious choice of book to find some interesting routes that will show me some of the interesting sites that Oxford has to offer.

We have completed some of these routes, and found the guide easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyed our time wandering around.

This book has some wonderful walks planned with tempting photos to entice you to go and explore. I live just outside Oxford so cannot wait to try some of these walks which cover Oxford and beyond. They look varied and interesting. Even as a 'local' this book has lots of ideas to offer me. The walks are well explained with diagrams and written directions. I like the introductory information to help me plan a walk which matches my energy levels/time. Excellent book!

This handy pocket sized walking guide offers 20 hidden walks in and around Oxford.

What do you like to see when you go for a walk? With these books you can choose from historical buildings, green spaces, canals, rivers and more. I'm looking forward to exploring these walks during my regular visits to Oxford this year.

At the beginning of each chapter there’s a brief description of the walk and it’s location. I liked the information panel at the start of each chapter, which provides the walk distance, a suggested starting point and an estimate of how long the walk might take. This all helps decide which walk to follow depending on how much time you have available and how much exercise you’d like to do.

Once you’ve decided which walk to follow there is a route map and detailed point-to-point directions. As you follow the walk the book also provides notes on what you might see during the walk, what to look out for and useful photographs of interesting places. The author has also shared options for you to divert from your walk temporarily for added sights of interest or for a pitstop for refreshments.

This book is part of a new travel book series, each book shares interesting walks around some of the UK’s most beautiful cities. I hope there are more cities added to this compelling travel book series soon.

Such wonderful hidden walks I am looking forward to exploring thanks to this book. The kindle edition has slightly dodgy formatting, therefore I would recommend the paperback. Nevertheless I cannot wait for my next weekend off to plan a walking trip. A very well written and informative guide. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
