A good historical setting brings fresh feel to a routine mystery thriller. Sydney and Ralph are good as PI's and they add value to the book. How the mystery unveiled towards the end was good. On the whole a good enjoyable read.
Recommendation: Would recommend it to the Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie's fans.

I found it entertaining but I wasn't a huge fan of the MC. Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

As a current resident of the Austin area, when I saw the title I had to read it! I loved this story and Sydney Lockhart is an amazing character! Set in the 1950s, it was so good to read about an independent female character living on her own and enjoying a career, as hard fought as it has been. The acknowledgement that people during that time had sex outside of marriage and that some men can and did respect a woman's career was awesome.
In this book, Sydney, her PI boyfriend, Ralph Dixon and their partner Billy are hired to find out what the opposition has on a gubernatorial candidate. But the candidate is killed before they can even get started..
I was so intrigued by the characters, I started reading the series from the beginning and loved every single book! Cousin Ruth, along with the rest of Sydney's family and friends are so much fun. I cannot wait to read the next one! Thank you to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read #MurderattheDriskill.
