I love a thriller with unlikeable characters, I feel like you can really get into the darker side of human nature when you focus in on these types of people and Greenwich Park did that 100%. I wasn't sure what to expect from this novel but it had me totally gripped and went in a direction I would never have expected just from reading the synopsis. At first glance, I thought this was going to be more of a typical domestic noir, possibly linking with the couple and their fertility issues, but this soon escalated! It's very dark, very twisty and there are layers upon layers of secrets between these families just waiting to unravel. A shocking psychological thriller with a really fresh new voice.

I had really high hopes for this book- I had seen reviews and content shared around it on Twitter so was very excited to be accepted for an advance copy.
I appreciate that the book has now been published so my review is a little bit late, however, I still wanted to share my opinion.
The story centres around the main protagonist Helen who is pregnant and attending antenatal classes in a local pub- weird in itself, but I will let it slide. Her husband and friend who was also supposed to be attending, let he down last minute and she finds herself alone. Cue Rachel, a single pregnant woman also attending the classes- who tries extremely hard to befriend Helen. And this is where it all starts...
You soon start to realise that Rachel is more than she seems, turning up everywhere Helen is, coming to her house unannounced and basically trying to take over Helen's life. Whilst this is going on, you also have the dual narrative of Helen's friend Katie and her brother's wife Serena- who give small glimpses into their lives and how they fit in with Helen.
Suddenly, Rachel disappears, presumed dead and suddenly lots of secrets start to unfold- who exactly are these people and what have they done?
I tried really hard to love this book but for me, I just couldn't really immerse myself into the storyline, there was not enough tension or atmosphere. It was not a up all night hooked read at all.
I thought some of the characters were also a little bit annoying- I couldn't really like Helen, something just wasn't there. I know the whole point was not to like Serena or Rachel but they did grate on me a little too.
However, it was an interesting idea and the closer I got to the end of the book, the more I was starting to enjoy it, if only it had been like that the whole way through. I always like a dual narrative storyline so this was a plus for me as always interested in the differences in opinion between each person and how perspectives are different.
I just wanted more from it. I would read another novel by Katherine Faulkner which is always praise in itself in my book.
