This book had so much promise but it fell flat. I barely made it through the book. Just entirely too slow.

I was absoloutely thrilled to have thechance to read A Year of Mr Maybes. At this point I have read everything Judy Leigh has published and this one didn't disappoint.

We follow Val, who, after fifty years of marriage finds herself single after she catches her husband cheating. When her son announces his wedding plans Val ends up on a mission to find her plus one to take to the wedding so she doesn't have to face her ex and his partner alone. Whilst this isn't as laugh out loud funny as some of her other books, it's a heart warming read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the chance to read A Year of Mr Maybes.

Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The description of this book was intriguing, but the characters never really came alive for me. Val's journey from divorce through independence made for pleasant reading, but I didn't care much about any of the characters.

I throughly enjoyed A Year of Mr. Maybes. Val is starting her life over in her seventies and does a marvelous job of it. Uplifting and lovely.

After 50 years of marriage, Val finds herself starting over after catching her spouse cheating on Christmas. Who does that...50 years!! Anyway Val moves house and starts again. As she moves forward she makes friends with her neighbors and become an integral part of her village. She and her mate Connie begin a plan of a man a month in the hopes of finding a plus one for Val's son's December wedding. Overall a good and enjoyable story.
