I have a couple of Abby Jimenez books on my overflowing TBR bookcase but I just haven’t found the time to read them yet.. that will definitely be changing after reading Part Of Your World!

Alexis Montgomery comes from a prestigious line of wealthy surgeons dating back 125 years. Her father invented a groundbreaking cardiovascular procedure, her mother was a spinal surgeon and a philanthropist and her twin brother a world famous plastic surgeon. Alexis turned her back on the “family trade”, instead going in to emergency medicine much to the disappointment of her overbearing father but a Montgomery has worked at Royaume Northwestern Hospital since the day it opened so now her parents have retired and her brother has gone.. the expectations and responsibilities fall on her shoulders.

Daniel Grant also has expectations.. he runs the B&B that has been in his family for 125 years, he’s a carpenter and he’s also the town mayor of Wakan, population less than 1000.

When the two happen to meet there’s an almost immediate connection, their lives are so different… but maybe a harmless little fling wouldn’t hurt?

I really enjoyed this book!

Dual POV✔️ Age gap✔️ small town charm ✔️ and a little bit of spice ✔️

Let’s be honest I want to move to Wakan or at least visit! I loved the community and all the characters that lived there. Daniel was a total
Sweetheart! I liked Alexis but I really wished she stood up to her douchebag father a little sooner! The side characters were great, especially Doug, the D pic scene was hilarious!

The writing flowed really well and I appreciated that it wasn’t all just fluff and rainbows, that there were more serious topics like domestic violence and emotional abuse included, and that they were very well executed. There was also a few nods to Disney in there and a touch of magic in the town.

I would definitely recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

LIKES
☀️ Dual POV. Always a winner!
☀️ The conflict brought up mostly legitimate concerns. I could understand why both the characters felt the way they did in the situation they were in.
☀️ Moments really made me laugh! The banter was perfect.
☀️ Alexis’ growth, particularly when it came to her own self-worth and understanding which people in her life were dead weight.
☀️ It was super sweet and heartwarming without feeling at all cheesy.
☀️ Tougher topics were handled with real thought and care.

DISLIKES
🌙 I did want Alexis to grow a backbone and not care SO much about what her parents thought. As a 37-year-old woman, it felt a little childish. But as my friend @allinwitha said, every book needs a villain!

Huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Part of Your World.

“Because sometimes family isn’t what you’re born into. Sometimes family is found.”

This is my first Abby Jimenez and certainly won’t be my last! This was such an easy book to read and I was so invested in the characters that I flew through it.

I adore dual POVs in romance books so straight away I knew I was going to enjoy this, getting to hear both the main characters thoughts just adds so much more to the story in my opinion. I felt really connected to them both and really enjoyed the two different worlds the characters came from. As a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan, I particularly loved the doctor setting!

I would say it’s worth checking the trigger warnings for this one because there are some topics which may be upsetting for some readers. I personally loved the way the author brought in real life issues which are unfortunately all to common but also managed to make it a feel good book too.

I often find the ‘conflict’ in romance books to either be too rushed and unrealistic but this was not the case at all in Part of Your World. Everything about the conflict was completely perfect because it felt so real and believable!

The only thing I didn’t like was the parents, they drove me absolutely insane and I so wanted Alexis to just stand up for herself and put herself first! But overall, I really enjoyed this book and would really recommend it - particularly if you like a book which has you laughing, feeling emotional and a million other types of ways!

Part of your world is a story about two people who live completely different lives but fall in love with each other. This was a beautiful and heartbreaking book and I loved every single second of it! I easily rated it 5 stars and it really helped to get me out of the reading slump I was in. I love the fact that this is written from both our main characters points of view. I also really enjoyed the fact that despite the fact our characters lived different lives they were also similar in so many ways! This was a great easy read and I found it really hard to put it down. I also absolutely loved the occasional Disney reference!

This is why Abby is an autobuy author for me. No one can break me and make me like she can. If i could give this more than 5 stars I would. What a great start to a story I mean who else could turn and incident with a raccoon into an epic love story full of quirk, heartbreak, laughter and some deep and tough subject matter! I just could not put this down even when I was crying my eyes out I didn't stop. An absolutely beautiful story one which I know I'll reread again. A must read for everyone

I received this free advanced reader copy in return for my honest opinions. Thank you to Abby Jimenez and Little Brown books for giving me a copy.
On the way back from her aunt’s funeral Alexis ends up in a spot of trouble as her card goes off the road, only to be rescued by the attractive, but very much younger Daniel. The two end up spending the night together, only for Alexis to make a quick escape back to her regular life before he wakes.
While Alexis is part of the renowned medical family the Montgomery’s and a successful ER doctor in her own right, Daniel both runs the local B&B and acts as the mayor of his town. Their lives could not be further apart, but they find an escape within each other with an agreement that is never meant to last.
As it is common for romances, there is plenty of things in the way for the pair, from Alexis’ cheating ex to Daniel’s self-centred mother. They are joined by a brilliant set of secondary and side characters, I particularly loved both Briana and Doug, not to mention Daniel’s dog Hunter!
What did connect these characters was both a huge sense of obligation to others and the strong urge to do something right. That could not be said about several of the other characters within this book; however, I found myself frustrated with several who seemed to have no issues with the emotional abuse and belittling that Alexis was subjected to by both her father and Neil (the ex), and I longed for Alexis to put herself first rather than kowtow to the expectations that had been built up surrounding the Montgomery name.
I did wish I had got to see a bit more of her twin brother Derek, though I could understand the distance to a degree, any issues were with their parents, not with each other.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I’ll certainly be looking out for Brianna’s book when it releases!

Alexis Montgomery is driving back home from her great aunt’s funeral when a raccoon dices with death by wheels, she swerves and it forces her into a ditch. Don’t fret, rescue is on hand, enter Daniel Carpenter, who thinks she is well out of his league. However, he’s cute, in fact he’s smokin’ and how can you resist a man who fosters a baby… goat! Alexis is not from his world, she is an ER doctor in Minneapolis from an eminent wealthy medical family and there is the 10 year age gap to consider, and yet, and yet… She’s only got one life to live.

This isn’t just a romcom, this is Abby Jimenez style. Yes you get rom (and it’s pretty steamy in places, well Daniel is smoking’) and plenty of com (usually Hunter, the adorable dog) but you also get issues. In this case it’s mental abuse and domestic violence which the author handles well and yet you feel the characters pain . The author clearly demonstrates that this can happen to anyone. The author also shows via Alexis the difficulties and inequities in medical provision, would there were more solutions like those offered here.

I love that this is basically a modern day of fairytale, there are excellent nods to both Cinderella and The Little Mermaid which are cleverly done. Much of the Magic comes courtesy of Waken (it means magic) which is where Daniel lives. Outsiders may see this place as Nowheresville, in fact it is most definitely Somewheresville with its own brand of a special sprinkling of fairy dust. It’s a ‘character’ in its own right. I’d like to live there, in Daniel‘s house, preferably with Daniel who is the most fabulous character. However for me, Hunter steals the show with one scene which has me howling with laughter!! The chemistry between Daniel and Alexis is hot, it feels right but Alexis has a lot to learn about real worlds and to gain the strength from that knowledge. Her family are something else, as for her ex, surgeon Neil, George Clooney in ER as Doug Ross he most certainly isn’t.

The ending is maybe a bit of a turnaround and possibly saccharine but that’s not to say it’s not enjoyable and it is what you hope for!

Overall, if you like an intelligent well written romcom then look no further than Abby Jimenez. She has a way of hooking you into the storylines and keeping you glued.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Little Brown Book Group for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

Wow! Abby Jimenez has done it again! She has written a book I absolutely adore and love. I loved reading about how Alexis found her voice after been in an abusive relationship and I fell in love with Daniel, ha ha! They as a couple are outstanding 💞

Reading about Wakan and their community made me warm in my heart. Doug especially. The way Abby has written about his fight with depression was tender and loving but didn't take away the seriousness.

I CAN'T wait for Bri's story in the next book!!

I've enjoyed all of Abby's 'The Friend Zone' series, so I was really looking forward to reading this. This is a great opposites-attract story, with Alexis and Daniel coming from completely different worlds. Alexis, the ER doctor, finds escape from the responsibilities and pressures of her 'normal' life in Wahan and Daniel, and I loved how being with Daniel taught her to want more for herself and to not just do what everyone else expected her to. Daniel, on the other hand, was so so sweet and charming throughout, and it was lovely to see him learning to know his worth and that, despite not being as 'rich' or 'successful' as the people in Alexis' world, he had plenty to offer her. Just like Abby's previous book, this book doesn't shy away from tackling heavy issues (cw: emotional and physical abuse). I thought the topics were dealt with really sensitively, and I was glad to see both Alexis and Liz - Daniel's cousin - get a HEA. I'm really excited to see that Bri is getting a book of her own as she was such a supportive best friend and I loved her character!

Another brilliant 5 star book from Abby Jimenez, but then again, wasn’t expecting anything less! I loved all three of her previous books so much that I had to buy a physical copy!
Loved how the differences between Daniel and Alexis’s lives were highlighted regularly and both the characters were so real and relatable - bonus point for Alexis’s character transformation!!
Also adored the small town (village!) vibes of Wakan and all the people living there. Plus Grant House? I’d love to visit!

Thank you so much for my review copy, I really enjoyed this book and it further cemented my love for Abby Jimenez!

Part of your World is told in first person dual POV’s. The story follows Alexis, a city girl and Daniel who lives in a small town. Alexis meets Daniel in the first chapter after she drives her car into a ditch. Daniel finds her and gets her out, they meet again that same night at a bar and go home with each other. They hook up and Alexis leaves without saying goodbye. The romance begins there. This is a older woman younger man romance with Alexis turning 38 and Daniel being 28. The characters were likeable and it was a quick, easy and enjoyable romance. However I felt like things moved too fast and I didn’t feel a huge connection or angst between Alexis and Daniel. I would recommend this to someone who is new to reading romance as when you’ve read a lot of romance like me this doesn’t stand out.

Three and a half stars.

Alexis Montgomery's family are all renowned surgeons, for 125 years a Montgomery has worked at Royaume Northwestern Hospital, her father has always considered her a disappointment because she chose to be an ER doctor rather than a prestigious surgeon. When her brother Derek announces he is never returning home, Alexis realises that the burden of being the next generation of Montgomery to run the hospital has fallen squarely on her shoulders, whether she wants it or not. To make matters worse, Alexis has just broken up with Neil, the Chief of Surgery at the hospital and one of her father's favourites. Awkward!

Returning home from her Aunt Lil's funeral, Alexis accidentally runs her car off the road and is rescued by a tattooed, bearded local. Later that same night she spots him in the local VFW where he is playing pool with his friends and she is trying to get something to eat before resuming her journey. One thing leads to another and, much to her surprise, Alexis has a one-night stand with the guy, Daniel Grant, the local Mayor, who runs a B&B at the local historical house and is a talented carpenter on the side. Did I mention he's nearly ten years her junior?

Daniel's family have an almost magical connection to the small town of Wakan, he could no more leave it than give up the beautiful B&B that his great, great something grandfather built with his own two hands. Through flood and famine, fire and disaster the Grants have saved the town time and again. Daniel knows that Alexis is wealthy and used to far finer things than he can give her, but their connection is magical and he will do whatever is necessary to make it work. But Alexis knows Daniel would never be accepted in her snobby society, or by her father who is lobbying hard for her to take Neil back, despite his cheating.

This is an opposites attract, older woman/younger man, romance worthy of the Hallmark Channel. The mystical element to the B&B at Wakan was a bit woo-woo for me, and Daniel didn't really have enough depth but it was a fun, feel-good read.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This was another fun and uplifting read from Abby Jimenez, this time featuring unlikely couple Alexis and Daniel who meet in a twist of fate when Alexis car ends up in a ditch and Daniel comes to her rescue then the weather conspires to draw them together again after. Both are lovely characters but miles apart from each other in every sense and both have a great sense of commitment to both their lives and their heritages. Despite this being a light read it does feature the subject of domestic violence at its heart which is very thoughtfully written but couple be difficult for some readers. Overall thought this is a sparkling read and I’m really looking forward to reading Alexis’s friend Bri’s story when it comes out,

One word or name. Daniel Grant. He is my kind of male hero. I absolutely adored him. He lives in the small town Wakan and accidentally helps Alexis who’s been run off road thanks to a raccoon.
Daniel is a down to earth good guy. Ten years younger but mature and an old soul. He wooed me completely. Talk about falling in love with a fictional character. I was swept away.

Daniel and Alexis couldn’t be more opposite. He’s a do it yourself kind of guy and she comes from a wealthy family with a well known legacy. Her name means and stands for obligations. To her parents and the surname name Montgomery.
Still this couple just worked and complimented each other beautifully. Daniel stripped away Alexis layers and taught her so much about herself. I would’ve liked for Alexis to have found her voice sooner. Especially in regards to her own wants/needs and also to her parents. But she eventually did.

The people of the small town Wakan were fab. Especially Daniel’s friends. The town took on a life on its own and embraced Alexis.
I’m excited that Alexis’ best friend Bri gets her book cause that’s my girl.

Part of Your World was such a wonderful story especially because of its characters. They captured my heart along with a certain dog and goat.

4 Heart Rock Stars

I've long been a fan of Abby Jimenez's so I could not wait to read her latest release Part Of Your World.
And it certainly did not disappoint. I adored this book!
I love that Abby's books blend romance and rom coms with bigger and slightly heavier issues.
Seeing Alexis grow and realise the cycle of mental abuse that she had experienced her whole life and then work to put an end to it, was done well.
I also really loved Daniel and the chemistry that they had.
I do enjoy a small town romance but this had the added benefit of showing you Alexis' world and how different it was from Daniel's.
This had warmth and engrossed me fully. I could not put this down.
The growth in Alexis, in particular, was great to see. These felt like real characters.
I am so excited to read Bri's story next year (thanks for teasing us with that Abby) and I will be recommending this to everyone, whether you've read Abby Jimenez's books before or not.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Tropes: opposites attract, age gap, forbidden romance, failed one night stand, found family, small town.

Triggers: physical abuse, emotional abuse, drug addiction.

God, I ADORED this book. I'm not normally a fan of too much real life in my romances, but Abby Jimenez has this amazing ability to handle difficult topics without subtracting from the warmth and heart of the love story.

Alexis and Daniel were both complex characters that I wanted to succeed - in their goals and in their relationship. The chemistry was soooo high (and the spice was damn good), but it was also a true puzzle piece romance. There was an element of light magic/fate in this book (the town chooses who it wants to keep) which really added to the soulmate feel.

I don't want to say too much about this, but if anyone reads it and wants to discuss, PLEASE MESSAGE ME! I will be making everyone I know get a copy when it is released on April 19th.

Thank you to Net Galley, Little Brown Book Group and Abby Jimenez for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

Abby Jimenez does it again. The book was magical. Her writing and stories feel like a soft, warm blanket on a cold and rainy day.

I get so engrossed in the book the world around me stops for a minute.

Not many writers are able to pull that off.
Thank you again for the arc, I was really looking forward to it and can't wait for Bri's story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Hilarious yet moving story.
Another great read from Abby Jimenez!

This story follows Alexis Montgomery (37) and Daniel Grant (28). Alexis is an ER doctor who is working at her family’s legacy hospital and Daniel is a carpenter/B&B owner/ Town mayor from a small town called Wakan.

Alexis finds herself in Wakan after a funeral where she meets Daniel when her car goes into a ditch because of some naughty squirrels. We get to experience her moving on from her abusive ex as well as becoming stronger as an individual.

I loved the humour that Abby Jimenez uses throughout the book, especially the goat who was wearing pyjamas and a pig called Kevin Bacon. Jimenez took me on an emotional rollercoaster with the humour and then the dark, emotional topics covered such as her abusive childhood and ex.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I felt like some parts weren’t essential to the story therefore could have been edited out however the overall story was really good.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to get an eARC of this book
