This was a real ride.
Heather sees this young girl leaving for plane to Greece with an older guy - and her heart is pierced, again. Because the guy once hurted her, horribly. So she can only follow her instincts ands she buys a plane ticket there, too.

This was intense and atmospheric - I was with these women and all characters almost physically, experiencing the wild island beauty, but also these feelings of danger, premonition, insecurities, fear...Can the victim recognize the prey on its hunt? Can they see the signs of danger? ESPECIALLY if they are shy, insecure, young?
And can their close ones help them?

There is also a backstory of how that person could turn evil, which is horrible as well - and maybe unnecessary, too, from where I stand? Because while the justice is done in one case, it is not done in other case. But justice should be blind, serving true judgement to all.

But having said all that, this was one ride of a read. I want to read more from this talented author!

A good solid novel with plenty of twists and turns to go at, had me page turning well into the night and the ending didn’t disappoint, good characters and a great little story!

This was a solid read that keeps you wondering, who will make it out alive, and who would not. I enjoyed the book, will read more in future.

Thanks to Netgalley for review copy.

If you've ever headed away on a whim, and with someone who you don't entirely know, this will make you think whether it's the right thing to do! This is nicely plotted though, with characters who you believe and engage with.

Sukie has had enough of not putting herself out there. She has had enough of her mother thinking so very little of her timid daughter. On a whim, she accepts an offer to go to a Greek island for the weekend with Jake, a man she has barely begun dating. If that isn't putting herself out here, she doesn't know what is. Heather is at the airport when she sees a young woman with an older man - and immediately she understands that the woman is in danger. Because in fifteen years, Heather hasn't been able to forget what Jake did to her. And the next thing she knows, she's buying a plane ticket and following them. What should have been a perfectly pleasant weekend away quickly descends into something much darker. As these two women come ever closer to each other - and to Jake - it becomes increasingly unclear who will walk away from the weekend with their life.

I just really did not like or connect with this book. Kent writes about some very serious subjects and yet it felt quite silly and childlike. For me, I did not find Heather's actions very believable so I lost interest from early on. Kent writes this from multiple perspectives without really explaining who they are initially. Instead of allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of what was going on through different eyes, I just got confused and did not know what was happening. I think it would have been better if the perspectives had only been Sukie and Heather.

I did like that this was set on a Greek island but you do not really experience the beauty of the landscape. Towards the end, Kent ramps up the intensity and danger but came too late, I had lost interest and did not really care what happened.

'In Deep Water' really was not for me and I just did not enjoy this.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little for an advance copy.

Dark Manipulation…
A picture of dark manipulation in this tense suspense with a sharp edge. Sukie drops everything on a sheer whim for a weekend away to a Greek island with a man she barely knows -purely to show that she is not the timid girl everyone thinks she is. Heather is at the airport and sees a young woman with an older man. Heather knows the signs. She sees trouble. After all, she’s never forgotten what Jake did. She decides to follow them. A seemingly pleasant weekend away soon turns abjectly menacing. There’s no knowing who will walk away. With a carefully crafted cast and an immersive narrative this is a wholly compelling read.

A beautifully written edge-of-your-seat thriller that had me guessing right until the end. Unputdownable. It is a nail-biting thriller that grips to the very last page! An atmospheric, sometimes dark, taut thriller which keeps you hooked from the first page!

Wow, I can’t even begin to describe the crazy cat and mouse game that this book was! The lives of two women and the man binding them intertwine in the most surprising of ways following a chance encounter. Highly recommended!

This is a great physiological thriller. One that I think many will be reading In one sitting. I found myself absolutely absorbed into the storyline, the characters were engaging and there were plenty of twist and turns to keep the reader engaged. Really well written. This certainly won't be the last book I read by this author.

About a quarter of the way into this book, I gave up questioning why some of the characters were acting the way they did.
From then in, I enjoyed the book far more.
It had a tense almost countdown feel to it,with numbered days and the knowledge that the island visit was of short duration.
Good multi person view point.
Overall its another entertaining read from this author.

I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review

I loved this one. Very fast paced, had me turning pages as I tore through it – I had to see how it would end. The characters were well rounded and the narrative felt believable. Gave me chills. Solid five
