I enjoyed this well-written novel about the Cowgil family post WW2. It is full of twists and turns as time marches into the 1950's. there is romance, death, births, and new business ventures. I only wish I had realized this was a series so I had started at the beginning. The books works as a standalone, but I would love to have gotten to know the characters better.

The third book in this series and a great way to continue the story of this family saga. It brought every aspect of this family together, their stories, their lives, their business and their moves. You can relate (even though it is a story from the past) with things that have happened in this family.

I enjoyed reading all three books in this series and felt I went on a journey with the Cowgill family and I learned to accept and love them and understand their lives and their decisions.

Great book, great series.

I think I may have come in at the end of a long saga of books as an awful lot of characters and families were introduced to me at once and I couldn't make out who was who so sadly had to give up on this book as I was totally confused.
I'm so sorry.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book. xx

A continuation of a great family saga. As the years go forward and the war comes the family and the business must face more and more trials and tribulations. If you like Downtown Abbey you will love this series.

A well written family saga set just after the end of World War Two, when the country was still getting back to normal. A very good read but I wish I had read the first 2 before starting this.

A very well written family saga set just after the end of World War Two, when the world was still in turmoil. I do hope there's a fourth book in the series because I found it an entertaining and enjoyable read

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a free ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily.
The third book in this epic saga is every bit as good as the first 2. This book starts just after the second world war, taking in the difficult period of adjustment for servicemen and those left at home and covering the effects of rationing and financial aspects. There are more characters appearing as children are born, and some of the older characters reach the end of their lives. The story moves at a rapid pace across several countries and there are many emotional moments, both sad and glad!
The saga has been expertly crafted, interesting and engaging throughout, I just want it to carry on!
