The next book in the heart cross series and boy is it a good one. If you haven't read this series before I highly suggest starting at book one. Buy if you are a romcom fan don't miss them. As Christie writes such great feel good books that will leave you grinning and feeling reading got the summer.

Molly is excepting a baby in a few weeks time and is also preparing for Christmas to arrive. When she goes to see a clairvoyant who tells her to expect alot of scandal and upset to unfold. Which is the last thing that Molly needs. When Molly comes across a homeless sixteen year old Brew. She knows that she needs to take her in and help her. But with that brings out secrets from Molly's past that she has been keeping from her family and unexpected surprises.

A lovely summer read with likeable characters and a wonderful story arc I had a lovely weekend reading this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the novel.

This was a refreshing book to read as it has a right chilly feel as winter sets in at Heartcross in Book 9 of the Love Heart Lane series. Refreshing because I was sitting out reading this in a very hot garden at the beginning of July!

This book takes us back to the Old Bakehouse, obviously, the title gives this away and it was great to catch up with Molly and Cam. This is a lovely couple and they work together so well, but things are a little off with them and it's not just down to Molly being pregnant. There is something more going on and things don't improve when Molly brings in an unknown girl who was at the local shelter for those who are homeless. This is something that Cam normally would not have minded, but as I mentioned things are not quite as happy and rosy as they should be in the Bakehouse.

I adore this series and this latest book was great to read as it took us back to one of the couples featured in some of the earlier books. While getting the Bakehouse up and running has been tough, things could get tougher still and with the pressure of another addition to their family, he is a little wound up.

The community of Heartcross is a close-knit one, some families go back generations and some residents have lived there all their lives and have seen many comings and goings. There isn't much that goes on without someone being in the know or at least noticing something that reminds them of things past.

Another story means getting to know the characters a little more and also a chance to introduce others. In this case, Bree, a young girl who is homeless and a little edgy but has a heart of gold. The only thing is will anyone see past the stereotype of a homeless person image she has?

Once again there are a couple of very serious subjects tackled, there are some wonderful heartfelt moments and also a sense of dread. I will say that there are also a couple of damp-eye moments in this one as the story and the mystery of the past began to emerge.

If you have read any of the books in the series then you are going to adore this one. It can be read as a stand-alone but these are much better read in order. This is one for those who like a wonderful community, family and friendship feel story, some serious and fun moments and an all-around fabulous read. It is one I would definitely recommend.

There is nothing enjoyable about this book-it is poorly written with completely non-developed characters. Save your money.

Another lovely read in the Love Heart Lane series, mixing old and new characters, as a young homeless girl's arrival shakes things up for one family and brings secrets and revelations bubbling up from the past. I loved the sound of the chocolate bread and layer slabs that get created in the story. Mouthwatering stuff! Compassionate caring characters and a nice ending that pulls it all together and leaves a good feeling.

The latest instalment in the Love Heart Lane series was a gorgeous read. I always enjoy how Christie Barlow's stories are just on the edge of believable - and I mean that in a good way. I mean, I'd love to live in Heartcross!

The boon focuses on Molly (one of the local vets) and Cam (the Baker) who appear in earlier stories. As they prepare to welcome their second child Molly is involved with the local homeless shelter and she's in for a shock!

A nice easy read but it tackles important issues.

It's so great to be back in Heartcross with Christie Barlows latest book in the Love Heart series (can also be read as a standalone). This time we revisit the lives if Molly and Cam, the bakehouse is getting busier, Molly is due to give birth anytime and with a toddler in tow, tensions are rising. Cam is agitated and acting out of character, and isn't happy when Molly is getting too close to Bree, a homeless teenager at the local shelter they support. One if the worst winters for years, sees the community coming together to keep everyone safe, but can they? As secrets from the past start to unfold, Molly and Cams lives are about to change forever.

A heartwarming read you won't want to out down.

Another fabulous book in the Love Heart Lane series that can easily be read as a stand alone. Christie Barlow is a very talented writer who addresses homelessness in a harsh Scottish winter and a community that offers their support. Plus you can almost smell the bread Cam makes in the Old Bakehouse.

I loved every page of this book and couldn’t put it down. The main characters Molly, Cam, George and Bree weave such an interesting story. Of course some parts are predictable but it doesn’t take away from a story well told. A well earned five stars, I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

After reading book 2 in the series "Foxglove Farm." I have been following the author. Knowing I wanted to read all the books in the Love heart Lane series. So far I have read all the books after and including book 2.

This is book 9 however you would not know this when reading and this book makes a great stand alone. Something I think this author has got down to a fine art. Although I can guarantee you'll soon be reading the rest of the series because you just won't want to leave Heartcross.

Once opening the book it is a page turner. From the start until the last page you can't put it down. Christie's writing has gone from strength to strength in the heartcross series and it is one that has catapulted her into the realms of number one authors I regularly recommend to other rom-com readers.

The heart cross community are loving characters, each with their own secrets and hardships, who you totally feel yourself taking into your heart. They show you their emotions and allow you to become invested into their lives. More and more with each passing book. It's always great to meet your old friends again in the next book and watch how their lives become what they wanted from it throughout their own book. The community spirit in Heartcross at many of the events speaks right to your soul. Something you can only hope is replicated in your own community.

This book is a great romance read. Although their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as adoption, death, scandels in the community and homelessness amongst other things. I do not feel this takes away from the romantic feel of the book but has you heart growing fonder of the struggles each character faces and rooting for them to overcome it and use it to shape their future. Whilst being thankful that Christie brings up and raises the profile of important and often taboo subjects in modern Britain.

It is difficult for me to say this but I think this has pushed Heartcross Castle off rhe podium of my favourite book in the series. Whilst taking its place instead.

I Cannot wait to read the next book as always.

I would also say that I much prefer the titles like the other books of "The old bakehouse." I feel changing it to the long title it now is 1, doesn't roll off of the tongue so easy and 2, isn't in keeping with the love heart Lane brand. This doesn't effect the book hence my review is no different but just a thought for the publishers and one I also said in book number 8 as well.

This is another great addition to the Love Heart Lane series and as ever, it is a delight to catch up with the characters there. This story centres at Molly and Cam who have a new baby on the way. Molly is such a likeable character with a solid social conscious and her volunteer work leads he to a huge surprise. I liked how the story moves the who series on, opening the way for new characters and different settings in the future. As ever, family and relationships between the generations stand out.

This was a heartwarming, beautiful story of family, community, forgiveness and second chances.
Each of the main characters have issues they are dealing with, but somehow they are all related. Things spiral out of control for a bit, but everything eventually falls into place. I loved the characters, they are so relatable with real life problems and situations. The story captivated me from the first page. I laughed, was surprised, and even cried. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.

Another great instalment in the heartcross series, this time the story is focused on a new arrival to the village who has a huge impact on Molly. As always the story is brilliant, great read, can’t wait for the next one.

Okay. So let's start with a public service announcement. Do not read this book on an empty stomach. Or if you do, then make sure you're reading on a waterproof kindle or with your book in a bag. all the yummy descriptions of cakes and pastries and chocolate will make yours stomach grumble so loudly is may prove to be a distraction, and you're likely to be drooling before you even reach the halfway point. I developed such a case of the munchies whilst reading, I ended up pootling off for a midnight snack as a result ...

All joking aside, how can you not love this book and this series. Heartwarming, full of brilliant characters and such great and diverse stories, each time I pick up one of the books it's an honest joy. The character's may say that once you visit Heartcross you never want to leave, but I think the same is true of readers. Fans of the series will know exactly what I mean. One by one we've been introduced to the community of Heartcross, and this time it's the turn of Molly McKendrick and her husband Cam, who runs The Old Bakehouse, a place of Heartcross legend. The pair are ridiculously happy, both with careers they love, albeit that Molly is currently on Maternity leave, and a son they adore, so nothing can possibly threaten their happiness. Can it?

Well, whilst a storm may be brewing outside in the village, there are signs of disruption at home too. Molly knows Cam is keeping something from her, and as for Molly, she is becoming increasingly distracted by young homeless girl, Bree, someone who stirs up long forgotten memories and brings Molly on a collision course with her past. This is a story which will generate a whole host of emotions and feelings - and not just hunger. Taking a heartfelt and considered look at the plight of the homeless and with a real focus on family, trust and understanding, this was a book which amused, cheered and saddened me in equal measure.

I love that Christie Barlow is so adept at creating characters that we cannot help but care about. I was instantly drawn to Molly and Cam and the cheer they exuded, even when Cam was being less than open and his own personal fears spilled into their relationship with potentially dire consequences for Bree. As for Bree, although she is quite reluctant to trust Molly, for understandable reasons, there is a innocence about her and a side to her character that elicits our care rather than our sympathy for her situation. She is tough, determined and honest, in spite of what others might believe and seeing her story play out really brought a smile to my face.

I don't want to say too much about the story as the beauty of these books is in discovering this world for yourself, but the story sees our characters being given an opportunity to right wrongs of the past - there's more than the one way to experience a new beginning after all. A tale of family, of secrets and of second chances. And cake and pastries. Plenty of those too.

Heartcross is a real community and once again Christie Barlow has managed to radiate this from the page in a way that would make any of us readers jealous. Fans are going to love the Old Bakehouse and I cannot wait for the next instalment.

While this book had a few interesting plot twists, overall in my opinion it was just okay. The main characters were not interesting enough in personality, and the book was FULL of moments that were completely unrealistic, which left me as the reader, quite annoyed. Not really interested in reading any of the others in the series either.

I love a novel set in a bakery and this one did not disappoint. The Old Bakehouse in snowy Scotland is such a cosy setting, I really enjoyed all of the quirky but very likable characters, This story will give you sometime to escape every day life.

I just enjoy this series more and more. The characters and the stories are just lovely. I just want more of these people and their lives in my head. I just highly recommend this book and the others in this series to everyone who enjoys a wonderful read.
