This was such a cute read! At the beginning I had no idea where this was going to go. I loved the whole idea of the plot like her writing these bits for her column and I was routing for them to find each other again.

I really liked Jo and Millie's characters and found them really easy to relate to in different ways. It was a very comical book at times and just written so well.

It's my second book by Zara and I've really enjoyed both so I look forward to checking more of hers out!

This is such a gorgeous read, just the idea of meeting the perfect stranger, the perfect meet-cute dream, this is done so well because I was sucked in straight away. Millie and Joe’s chemistry is so adorable, so fantastic that you join them for the ride instantaneously.

I really enjoyed the dual POV, the fact we get to see Joe is feeling the same as Millie, makes is so much more wonderful and you’re waiting for them to find each other and be happy. I thought it was so nice too, to get Joes side of the story, as we quite often just get a one sided view, so it was refreshing to see both sides of their journey.

I have to admit it made me more impatient as a reader, the uncertainty and wondering how Zara was going to bring our star crossed (soon to be) lovers back together where they belonged, but that’s how brilliant she is as a writer, to tease and frustrate the reader knowing that it will make us read on desperately.

This is a wonderful slow burn romance, one of the best I’ve ever read, Millie and Joes relationship couldn’t have been written better, there is humour, emotion and so much heartwarming love in this book I think I want to reread it immediately. Fabulous

Meet Me on Platform 3 is a charming, feel-good, witty and hugely enjoyable read!

I loved the opening, fate (and rain) pushing two people together in the most natural of ways on a train station platform it starts off with tension after being soaked to the skin but ends in attraction as it usually does in these cases.

I have to admit that I haven’t read as many of Zara Stoneley’s books as I think I should, but those I have read I have taken them into my heart and loved instantly. I was thrilled to finally get the opportunity to delve into her books once again.

I have to admit that despite thoroughly enjoying this and absolutely falling head over heels in love with Joe, who is a real sweetie, this many stole my heart completely. I do have to say that Millie didn’t fully appeal to me most of the time, there was something rather rushed or col about her at times and then other times she seemed full of life. I did end up liking her, but it took me most of the book to get there. I think how she treated others such as her mother, I found her behaviour towards her mother a little too harsh especially considering the loss they share. But as I say, she soon won me over, eventually!

I flew through this book, and I read it in a blink of an eye. I loved how it flowed and swept me away transporting me right into the centre of Millie and Joe’s story. It’s such a gentle-paced book, a story of finding love by chance in the most normal of settings. It’s a story that could be anyone's love story, a chance meeting whilst heading in different directions and then hoping to meet again. It’s wonderful, full of fun and warmth.

I really wanted to like this one because the description was so cute but I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t feel the connection of the characters and found myself skimming through paragraphs. I did enjoy that there were some funny bits to lighten things up. And the all important meet-cute was fun.

Very well-drawn characters. Their emotions, their restlessness was all playing in front of me. Everything was flawless about the book, including the title. A rich, vibrant romance that's a feast for all the senses!

A brilliant lighthearted will they- won’t they story about Joe and Millie. Zara Stoneley writes such realistic and engaging characters and I immediately fell for both Millie and Joe as they struggled to find their place in the big smoke. The slow build of their relationship was the perfect story and I loved the setting of the station and trains for their fledgling romance. Millie was a fun glass half full character for sure and although struggling with her own emotions I loved how she worked through what she wanted in life. A great story to escape in.

What an idea for a book... two people meeting at King's Cross Station and attempting to find each other again. Millie is a columnist, albeit a bit of a failing one when we first meet her. When she meets a stranger at the train station she writes about it, making fun of herself at the same time but her editor loves it... and that means finding him again.

While I did enjoy the majority of the book there were a few things that I didn't like. There was a lot of internal dialogue from both characters really and it felt quite teenager-ish. I felt like I was reading about late teens rather than adults and that was a bit off-putting.

Also, Joe and Millie were a bit too similar at times. They had similar backgrounds and goals and it was all a bit samey in places.

Sadly just an okay read for me.

Millie writes on column about her life and she than comes across this gorgeous man at the train station platform 3 called Joe and they both have the hots for each orher but dont reslise untill they both purposely try to run into each other in the train station. The story did make me smile snd Zara Stonley writing style is easy to get into. This is a lovely love story snd it was nice to see Millie and Joe develop through the book. 4 stars if you love romcoms you will love this book.

Having read and enjoyed a few of Zara's books, I hoped this would be as good. It is even better. Wonderful setting, great characters and an excellent story line.

'Meet Me on Platform 3' is a tale of commuters Millie and Joe who meet by chance at King's Cross Station one rainy evening as Joe shakes his umbrella all over the unsuspecting Millie. Despite being drenched she is mesmerised by Joe and losing him, she realises she might never find him again.

As a confessional columnist, Millie takes the opportunity to write about her meet-cute with the handsome stranger. As Millie's feelings for "train guy" grow, so too do Joe's. I liked the alternating chapters recounting Joe's feelings about the encounters and seeing that vulnerability in contrast to his outward confidence.

The writing is heart-warming and it is a sweet story. Not saccharine sweet but enough to make one smile at the impending happily ever after. Grief plays a role in this story; Millie concerned with the well-being of her mother after the death of her father rang true with me as did the robin as I too, probably far too sentimentally, like to think that a robin on my wall is a little visit from my father.

Meet Me on Platform 3 is a cute, funny, meet-cute, modern romance and I absolutely adored it.
I love the trope of meeting a stranger accidentally and becoming smitten, which is what happens for both Millie and Joe at the train station. It took seconds to really invest in the chemistry between them and I was drawn in immediately. The chapters were narrated from both characters’ perspectives which I loved as it’s always good to get a more personal insight into each character.
Millie is a sweet character and very funny in her witty writing. She’s at a bit of a loss when she literally bumps into Joe and it was great to see her starting to make some decisions for herself whilst healing from her father’s passing. Her mum was also fun and really wise and perceptive when it came to Millie. They had such a lovely relationship but |I really wanted Millie to do something for her own happiness too.
Joe is a sweetheart. Helping his family and being really dependable whilst trying to figure out here he wants to be and what he wants to do. He’s so sweet but I loved his flirty and honest sides too.
I really enjoyed the fact that we got to read Millie’s articles too as they were funny and sweet. It did raise the issue that things on-line compared with real life are not always as they seem and it’s a light-hearted way to highlight this.
This is such a cute, feel-good romance and I adored the characters and how it was written. Highly recommended.

I thought the writing was well done, it had a nice pace and flow and I was invested the entire way.

I am such a huge fan of Zara Stoneley’s writing. Having already read and loved Hot Desk, The Dog Sitter, and The First Date – I knew I was going to love Meet Me on Platform 3 just as much – and I wasn’t wrong! The story follows the two main characters – Millie and Joe. They meet at the train station one rainy afternoon. Millie is rushing to get the train home to her Mum when she is soaked with water from someone’s umbrella – that someone is Joe.

Millie feels an instant attraction to Joe – like nothing she has ever felt before. Rushing to get her train, Millie frantically searches the platform for Joe, and as her train pulls away from the station, the though occurs to Millie that she might never see him again – yet nothing could be further from the truth.

The story is told from the perspective of both Millie and Joe, and guess what – Joe feels exactly the same about Millie. Both are looking for ‘the one’ and both hope they will find each other again. Will fate bring them back together, or were Millie and Joe destined not to be?

Meet Me on Platform 3 is such a cute story about 2 strangers meeting and falling in love. I love how the story is told from the perspective of both Millie and Joe, and the story is packed full of drama and just the sutest love story. One for the romantics for sure!

Millie, a confessional columnist, and Joe, an IT consultant, share a brief but memorable encounter on a busy platform at King's Cross one rainy evening. When she (kind of) writes about it, it becomes a huge hit and people want more. She finds herself desperately looking for ways to meet him again - not only to save her job, but because she cannot stop thinking about him.

I've read several Zara Stoneley books and really enjoyed them, so I was very excited to read this one. I was intrigued by the premise (especially the Brief Encounter undertones), and I loved Joe and Millie’s connection. I'm clumsy as hell, so I immediately identified with Millie and all of her faux pas. The beginning was so promising, with an adorable meet cute, lots of will they, won’t they meet again, and so much potential.

There was a lot of the witty and often sweet dialogue that I identify with the author’s writing, but there was also an awful lot of rambling internal dialogue - particularly from Millie - between the meetings that gets a little annoying at times. Sometimes there was so much of it that when the dialogue picked up, I couldn't remember what the context was. Still, Millie was likeable, so I couldn't help rooting for her and Joe to get together. Joe was just as likeable as Millie. However, I found some of their character details repetitive. I love a dual POV, because we get to see both sides of the story unfold, while often in on a secret. But I couldn't help but feel that both Millie and Joe had too similar a backstory at times: both from small towns; both with exes who couldn't understand them wanting to move to London; both with siblings with families; and their home towns. I know it was probably meant to show how well-suited they were, but for a lot of the story they felt interchangeable as characters. On the plus side, Joe's POV felt more concise.

I had to pause believability that a) they’d ever accidentally find the other again during rush hour ANYWHERE, and that when they finally did again, and there was an obvious attraction, neither one asked for the other’s number, or even really made even the briefest arrangements to meet. Still, I enjoyed their interactions as and when they did meet and liked the ending. Rating-wise, I really struggled with this book. Some of it was really enjoyable (when Joe and Millie are actually together), but as they’re not actually together for a lot of the story, I found myself skim reading a lot of pages.

This was a lovely boy-meets-girl story and I fell in love with both protagonists. Stoneley’s narrative is heart-warming and it felt like Millie was talking directly to the reader with her confessions of her feelings for Joe.

If you are after a romance story, this one has it all. It is such a meet-cute between Joe and Millie: raining in London, busy at the station and then their worlds collide. What I particularly liked was the uncertainty of their relationship developing when they were merely passing through the station for their respective journeys. Millie is incredibly conscious of the slim chances of meeting her ‘train-guy’ again, especially as her boss has jumped on this meeting as an opportunity to expand on in Millie’s weekly columns. Using this encounter with Joe means Millie can perhaps get recognised for her writing at long last, but how can she product the goods when her train-guy is nowhere to be found?

I liked how Stoneley switches the narrative to Joe’s perspective as this meant the story wasn’t all about Millie and her feelings. Furthermore, I enjoyed how Joe exposes a vulnerable side to his character, making him more believable and realistic. It felt refreshing to read how Joe doesn’t feel completely confident in his connection with Millie and I felt invested in his wishes for a happy ever after. As Joe wears his emotions on his sleeve, I could understand why he fears being hurt by Millie, especially when he discovers what she is writing about.

The lack of certainty about this couple helps to drive the narrative forwards and I found myself impatient for the characters to cross paths again. Add in the many miles between the two and it felt like an impossible task. I could not foresee how Stoneley would develop the narrative and even though I expected a happy ever after, I was unsure how this would be achieved when miles and emotions seem to drive Millie and Joe apart. They appear the perfect couple, but could circumstances alter their fate?

Although I have read many romance novels, this felt different and interesting. It definitely helped that I liked Joe and Millie so much, cheering them on to belong together. It is such a romantic tale of two people developing a connection whilst on a lengthy train journey, yet never knowing when they could meet again. In my opinion, this is what would make such a good film, especially as Millie is such an entertaining character.

There are highs and lows in this story as we are taken on a journey very similar to Millie and Joe. It was a great read from Stoneley and one that left me feeling very satisfied afterwards. Who knew travelling by train could be so rewarding?!

I honestly found this book a bit dull and repetitive. The premise sounded so good and then the first 25% of the book was them pining away and then they met for real and yet continued to pine away. It was all so very tedious and the climax was even more pining.

It's always a joy to read one of this author's romantic comedies because the characters are flawed and believable, the humour is often laugh-out-loud, and the romance dreamy. Millie memorably meets Joe at Kings Cross Station but in a 'brief encounter' way. She is a journalist struggling for material for her confessional style column, still grieving for her Dad and worried about her mum. She tries to juggle her career and family. Romance is not on her agenda, but her meeting with Joe is memorable and affects her life in many ways.

The story has conflicts and simmering chemistry. It's emotional and takes the reader and the couple on a rollercoaster journey. I love the characters and the romance and, of course, the laughs and tears along the way.
