From teacher duo and hosts of Two Mr Ps in a Pod(cast), brings funny book: This Is Your Own Time You're Wasting. It will resonate with most child educators and support staff. I, myself work with children of many ages and have done for many years and this is a book for both parents/caregivers and education staff to have fun over, especially staff. There are anecdotes galore, from Show and Tell and how not everything might be quite what you would expect to kids wanting to share every detail with you, including bodily functions to stories they tell to the antics they get up to. For parents/caregivers, there are certain things that will give them insights into what they may not see in the home and also a small bit about staff.

It also serves a little bit of a reminder of education in the pandemic, to a certain extent as the focus is on teachers and we know that there are many other people involved to make education work.

The style is chatty, much like a podcast is, so it makes this a book that's easy to dip in and out of, rather perhaps, feeling the need to read it all in one go. For the type of book it is, I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing or way to read it.

This was a bit better than the first one (i was invited to read and review this one because I had done so for the first one) I still felt the concept worked better as a podcast rather than a book. It lost something in reading the stories and calamities yourself, rather than having them told to you.

Brothers Lee and Adam Parkinson have written a laugh-out-loud book that every teacher should read. Such are the tales that us educators know exactly what the authors are talking about as we've lived the same classroom lives.
Those who are not in education might have their eyes opened as to what classroom life is like if they read This is your own time you are wasting - I often think that not many people would be able to comprehend what happens when you are responsible for 25+ young children.

Loved it.

Lee and Adam Parkinson's second book has a similar diet to their first, an inside look at education based on their popular podcast Two Mr Ps in a Pod(cast).

Teachers and parents have shared their stories, some definitely more embarrassing than others.

Reading some of the stories recounted here made me chuckle, bringing back memories of children and teachers from my schooldays.

Inevitably, some stories involve bodily functions and items that belong in an adults only environment but somehow found their way into 'Show and Tell' sessions. Teachers didn't always realise what some items were for, leading to huge embarrassment when enlightened by colleagues.

Some practices adopted during the pandemic, such as the introduction of digital teaching platforms, have led to positive changes in education; however, resistance remains.

The authors are passionate about young people having a positive relationship with social media and argue for the introduction of a Digital Literacy Framework in England (it already exists in Wales).

This is an entertaining read that also makes some salient points around education, and can be enjoyed by educators and parents alike.

I received a free digital ARC of this book from HarperCollins UK, and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Brilliant, definitely as good as the first book Put a wet paper towel on it.
Funny, witty but also poignant and dealing with hard issues such as teaching throughout the pandemic.
Loved this book and great full for all teachers who make such a difference in their pupils lives.
Highly recommended book

This book is the second in the series of books written by two brothers who happen to both be teachers and their insights into the profession.

I enjoyed the first book and this one was just as good. I liked how it was broken down into chapters - so parents, kids, tests etc and their thoughts on all of these. I also liked the fact that it covered teaching in the pandemic. Having my children at home and having them do the learning at home - teachers do not get enough credit and need a medal.

They also have a podcast and this book has some good stories from this in the pages. A definite good read for teachers, parents and anyone who has had any sort of dealings with children.

#ThisIsYourOwnTimeYoureWasting by Lee and Adam Parkinson is as funny as #PutaWetPaperTowelonit I absolutely adore this duo's podcast #twoMrPsinaPod They share the highs and lows of the reality of everyday classroom antics. I do find the podcast more entertaining as I enjoy the back and forth between them with the element of little to no editing. I'm not sure how much a non educational professional will relate though. Many Thanks to #Netgalley for gifting me a copy of this Ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Lee and Adam Parkinson are spot on in their observations of the teaching profession. As a teacher also, I found myself nodding and laughing along at the anecdotes. It really is a job like no other. It was interesting to see how teaching in UK compares to teaching here in Ireland. I feel happy to stay where I am - OFSTED seem scarier than ‘The Cigire’ (The Inspector) Have recommended it to my colleagues.

This book is already a must-read for everyone who has a soft-spot for primary school aged children and the teachers who are with them - I'm still chuckling and nodding lol

I loved the first book from the two Mr Ps and their second did not disappoint. I'm not a teacher but I throughly enjoyed this book. There were many parts were I audibly laughed out loud. This book has such wit and comedy within but does not shy aware from the hard topics such as how hard teaching was during the pandemic. I reminisced on my own school days many time whilst reading this book. I love all the submissions of funny stories from other teachers they have collected through their podcast. This was such a fun and important read!

A humorous read, it made me chuckle. Perfect for picking up and putting down or share quotes with friends. I haven’t read the first book, but am tempted to buy it.

3 stars.

I mostly enjoyed this book... parts of it had me proper belly laughing! However, I did feel a few parts were pretty repetitive, but the other content managed to carry the less captivating chapters through. Still a good-fun read.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC

I can't remember laughing so much at a book before this. It was full of humour and nostalgia of school days.

Working in education, I found this book so relatable and poignant and have bought it for colleagues and family members who work in education.

As a member of school staff who works across most primaries and secondaries, I was eager to dip into these. Sharing the hilarious stories in the staff room is, after all, the best bit of the job, so I was looking forward to it.

And whilst there were good bits - some of the stories made me laugh, and it probably serves as a good window into teaching life from an outwards observer, it didn’t quite hit the mark.

The chatty, colloquial podcast style of writing isn’t particularly my cup of tea, and I did find myself rushing through to find the good stuff.

Definitely one to grab at the library, or dip in and out of for a quick smile fix. For me, it wasn’t one to sit down with for a couple of hours and get lost in.

A funny book, perfect for reading when you just need a bit of comic relief. I loved all the antics and anecdotes that were included and an inside look into the life of a teacher.

I have to go back and read the first book again but this one was a throughly enjoyable read, I can't recommend it enough

Brilliant observations and humour, plus actually very educational. I do not have children but can totally relate some of these things to my time at my beloved junior school.
