Great thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I loved the twists that keep coming in this book.

What a weird book. And its meant in a great, entertaining, WTF type of way. Book starts off slowly, with a character entertaining herself with some nighttime releases, and the way she is described in general makes the reader think that she is a psychopath, and might explode at anytime. Soon the reader is taken on a journey of a true psychopath. I honestly did not expect that one! Really a good read, and I will read more by this talented author in future!

The world of real estate can be so brutal but this takes it to a whole other level of sinister horrible underhanded behaviour and how far (or low, or dangerous) people would go to get their dream home. Its so well written you can really imagine this happening.....makes you think twice about getting on the property ladder for a 'must have' house. Shocking and gripping. A very good read

Tess Stimson's writing never disappoints and neither does The New House. Creepy, gripping, motherhood - this one had it all. A superb addition to her works. One that will stay with me

This is my first book by Tess Stimson and boy have I missed this author all this time! I am really taken aback by this book in a really good way. The story revolves around the Glass House, but do not be fooled thinking it is actually about the house. This story twists around 3 families as they are brought together for the sale of said Glass House bur turns into a much more sinister tale. Love the way Tess keeps you constantly guessing with the multiple turns and also shocks you in multiple occasions. I have now found another fav author. The character portrayal is well thought out and you learn new aspects of each character till the very end. A must read book.

I enjoyed this thriller. A quick read that grips you and holds your attention. You want to stay up late and keep turning the page. I enjoy that in my thriller reads. The ending I did not predict which I also enjoyed , as when your a thriller reader you tend to get good at figuring out endings. The writing was easy to digest and easy to understand. I didn't get so lost in descriptive words that I forgot what I was reading.

Three couples are about to purchase their dream homes. How far would you go to get the perfect life.

Millie and Tom have discovered their perfect home, The Glass House. Ever since they saw the for sale sign she was obsessed with the house and is prepared to do anything to get it. The house is owned by Stacy and Felix.

Harper and Kyle want to buy Millie and Tom's house, they are YouTube influencers and think the new house will be perfect for their Vlog.

This is a great psychological thriller. Who knew buying a house could become so sinister and twisted.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Anyone who wants a cosy, homely story should steer well clear of this one which is very dark and grim. Who would expect anything with this title to turn into what actually went on so open and turn the pages at your own risk! There were very few, if any, normal people in this book and they all had something to hide. I liked how it was written and it certainly kept me gripped from start to finish despite knowing what would probably happen. If this is how Tess Stimson writes then I’d better get myself some more of her tales!

Interesting and well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. Difficult to follow at times and a little slow. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A very twisty read that completely surprised me by the end. Fascinating characters and dark plot but very compelling.

Dark, twisty and emotional thriller.

Millie acknowledges she is a psychopath and is aware of her strengths and weaknesses. Her inability to empathise means she does not get flustered, even when performing the most difficult heart surgeries.

Her next goal is to move to her dream home - the house known locally as The Glass House - and she won't let anything get in her way. She'll even find a way to tolerate the annoying podcast celebrity couple who are just as determined to buy her home.

When financial irregularities jeopardise the sale, a complex web of lies and ulterior motives surfaces, putting everyone involved in danger.

I love mysteries and thrillers so I was really excited for this one. While it was a little bit slow in the beginning it did enough to keep my interest until the book picked up. This is a new author for me and Id love to read more of her work.

The New House was a fantastic thriller. This book was full of suspense, deceit and lies.
This book was my first by this author and I will definitely be picking up more by the author. I particularly liked the author's writing style and the way that the the author pulled you in. The book did not take me long to get through as I was so eager to find out what had happened.
I particularly liked the way in which the author portrayed Millie. Millie is a psychopath, but she is well aware of her faults and the actions that she takes.
I did find the book unbelievable in places, but that is what fiction is about isn’t it!
I guessed the ending to the book very early on, when a certain incident happened, but it did not spoil the enjoyment of my journey of the book.
The pace was consistent throughout and I look forward to reading more by the author.

A good book, but with a very slow beginning. Took me a while before getting fully invested in the story.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.

Wow this book was hard to put down. First I've read by this author so please excuse me while I go devour more of her books. I absolutely loved it. It was engaging, fast paced, the characters were fleshed out. Definitely read this one!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This is the first book I have read by this author and as a result of reading this novel I have signed up to follow her on Amazon and Bookbub. The book is written so that we learn about the characters as they alternate giving their points of view on events as a new chapter begins. This does not disrupt the narrative as each switch occurs during an event, they are interspersed with SET talks explaining about sociopaths although it is not clear who is narrating. I enjoyed the gradual reveal of the layers of each character, and whilst the plot relies on a number of sociopaths meeting I found it completely gripping. The content is dark, and there are some slightly gory passages, I thought it was well-written and fascinating.

Reading Between the Wines book review #16/115 for 2023:
Rating: 4.5🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 1/2
Book 🎧: The New House
Author: Tess Stimson
Genre: General Fiction (Adult) | Mystery & Thrillers | New Adult
AVAILABLE NOW!!

Sipping thoughts: Wrapped up in this past and present POV thriller were so many secrets, reveals, twists, and surprises. A part of the story is told by a self-proclaimed psychopath. Listening to this POV and knowing that there will be a huge mystery solved had me reading so fast. I didn't want the book to end, and when it did, my last reaction was a gasp and a whole book hangover...that I'm still recovering from.

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @AvonBooksUK for an advanced copy of @TheNewHouse.

This was an unexpected great read. Hadn't read any other previous works but this was awesome. There's clearly a reason for anonymity with house buying. Lol.

Page turner. Almost impossible to put down. Devoured it in 2 days. First Tess Stimson book. I cannot wait to read more by this author.

One couple has deep secrets that they or she doesn’t want to be revealed. Selling their home could possible give these secrets away. Thus the perfect couple needs to buy the house.. The other two couples want the house bad. What are they willing to do to get it.

While the premise of this book was intriguing the book itself just fell a bit flat for me. I had been in a reading slum so that might have been why. It’s taken me this long to get this up here. Sorry about that.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
