Great read. Easy to read, great story and relatable characters. Would recommend for anyone looking for a slow burn romcom

Imagine turning 35 and receiving emails from your younger self. Will these emails change the path for Edie? An enjoyable read.

This book was a little bit of a slow burner for me but once I was into the story I really enjoyed it. The characters were great and I loved the whole premise of the note to self emails & how they made Edie step outside her comfort zone.

Would definitely recommend this book & will look for more books from this author

Second chance romance is one of my favourite tropes a book can have and this book is the perfect definition of a second chance romance.
We have Edie who receives an email from her past self and decides to try to cross paths with her old friend Joel, who she was secretly in love with seventeen years ago.
This was a super cute read that kept me hooked throughout. I really enjoyed seeing Edie's and Joel's relationship rebuild and seeing them fall for each other again.

One of the most stunning books I’ve read in some time as we follow Edie, who receives an email from her past self on her 35th birthday. So begins a series of emails that make her stop to wonder what her 17 year old self would think of her life now and spurs her on to make changes. This book really sucker punched me, I was simultaneously nervous and buoyed, in awe and terrified of where we’d finished. It was vivid and vibrant and sparkly and yet so sad and incredibly thought provoking as it was peppered with life lessons. All in all a standout book that made me sad and happy, and that I’ll not only be rereading, but recommending and gifting all over the place. Adored adored adored! Thanks to the publisher for the book in return for an honest review.

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

I loved the idea of this book, who wouldn’t want emails popping up from your younger self helping you navigate life. In this case turning what is, on paper at least, a hugely successful version of the heroine, into a more thoughtful and reflective version of herself.
I really enjoyed seeing the character development in this book and felt she is hugely likeable and identifiable. An easy read but also an enjoyable one.

I’ll start this review with the fact that I absolutely love the author. I’ve read Anna Bell’s work before and think she’s fab.

I was a little hesitant starting Note to Self as the cover didn’t immediately grab my attention as previous books had. How wrong I was - and how true that old saying is about not judging etc

Note to Self is a brilliant story based on a young girl who spends her pre-university summer working at a holiday park, she sends her future self emails with advice for seizing the day and taking risks. Her older 35 year old self receives the emails and takes the advice, with lovely consequences.

I loved Edie, she had been through a horrendous loss, something I could relate to. Her bond with Lola was beautiful and had my in tears reading those interactions.

I really enjoyed the reconnection with her holiday park friends, although I do think Soph calling after a LinkedIn notification following 17 years of radio silence was a little unusual. However, the events and relationship building that came after that were great to read.

I adored this book and was sat that it ended. The ending was perfect!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 📚

This is not my first book of Anna's and it certainly won't be my last.

I found the start a little cheesy, and I did struggle with it, but overall it was a really great read. Perfect for a day spent lazing by the water.

I love the idea of writing a note to your future self, I enjoyed this book about what happens when you do.

Such an original concept for a book – I absolutely loved it! I have read all of Anna‘s other books, and to be honest this wasn’t the best, but it was still really good and puts her up there as one of the top ChickLit authors. She has some very original ideas, and I look forward to seeing what she’s going to write next.

There are some books that are so heartwarmingly written, they truly fill you up with warmth and joy whilst reading them. This was such a book for me. Not exactly a romance book, but more of a second chances book, not just about romantic love, but the love one needs to have about ones self. About re-examining your life and accepting the mistakes of the past, learn and grown from them. Beautifully told and the main character was so very relatable and honestly written, that I knew that if she were a real person, I'd give her the most massive hug.

This book was just what I needed. I wasn’t sure to begin with as I thought it might just be ok and maybe a bit cheesy but that didn’t last long and I really enjoyed it. I think it’s a lovely idea writing notes to yourself as it brings back so many memories good and bad but it really made me stop and think and appreciate things. Uplifting and very enjoyable!

Note to Self is a wonderfully nostalgic and cautionary tale.

Edie has a happy enough life. It's safe and small. But could be worse.

Then on her 35th birthday she receives a note from past Edie and it's just the kickstart she needs to find herself again and start truly living.

Reconnecting with old friends, coming to terms with grief and guilt. And finding the courage to be honest with that one person she could never forget all shape Edie into the best version of herself.

Thoroughly enjoyable, gorgeous writing and great characters make this a fab read.

NOTE TO SELF
BY
ANNA BELL.

Edie is in her mid thirties and feels happy enough with her lot in life.
Then she starts to receive emails from her younger self.
What will her eighteen year old self have to say, that could possibly rock the boat for Edie’s present day life?

I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, charming, touching and funny.

A well written page turner.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Out now on all formats.

With thanks to Netgalley and HQ for a dogital arc of this title.

Note To Self
Edie is a lovely character. She works hard at her family’s stationery business. She takes care of her Dad and has done ever since her Mum died tragically. She has a boyfriend, Miles who she keeps at arms length & friends from work to keep her entertained. Her life is ok. She has a good job, a nice flat & a decent man in her life. Everything is fine. Until she receives an email from her 18 year old self. Edie finds herself reviewing her life as it is now and wonders what 18 year old Edie would have made of it. It’s sad, it’s funny, it’s relatable and it’s generally a really great book. Anna Bell is fantastic.

This is the first book that I've read by Anna Bell but it certainly won't be the last.
It's the perfect kind of summer/beach read and I definitely enjoyed it.
The characters were well-developed, meaning that you felt a true bond with them.
The whole concept of the book was an interesting one that was executed well too.
It also kept me engaged throughout, with me being excited to pick it up each night before bed.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more Anna Bell books in the future.
