This is one of the most well-rounded and respectful book club kits I’ve encountered. It goes far beyond discussion questions to provide real context, care, and connection for readers engaging with Firekeeper’s Daughter.
The author letter and interview offered powerful insight into Angeline Boulley’s inspiration, process, and hopes for the story. It was a moving reminder of how deeply personal and culturally rooted this novel is. The discussion guide was strong—thoughtful and nuanced without being overly academic, making it easy for our group to explore the book’s emotional weight, themes of identity, justice, and trauma.
The inclusion of content warnings and mental health and domestic violence resources was deeply appreciated. These show a clear respect for readers' well-being and are essential when discussing a novel that deals with heavy, real-world issues.
The printable bookmarks were a nice creative touch, and the “Indigenous authors to read next” list was a great resource for continuing important conversations around Native storytelling and representation. We also appreciated the additional ways to support Indigenous communities—it made the kit feel both reflective and action-oriented.
This kit is not only a discussion tool but also an invitation to engage more ethically and thoughtfully with the book’s subject matter and real-world implications. I highly recommend it for book clubs, educators, and community reading groups.

I was curious as to what this would have in it to possibly recommend to our English teachers but it is not worth it.

Great tool for bookclubs, it even general template for book discussions! Especially creative tool for beginners to focus on the areas of discussions that are new t o the book community

-I enjoyed the author interview. It gave such an insight into the inspiration for the book and the author's cultural connection to the content.
-The printable bookmarks were pretty and included meaningful quotes from the book.
-The discussion questions were though-provoking and open-ended. Perfect for a book club setting.
-Food and drink is such an important part of culture. It would have been nice to have food and drink ideas be included in this book club kit.

Thank you again for thinking of the mental emotional and spiritual wellness of the readers in my book club. Although we discuss these topics as they emerge organically in the books, having these pages on hand and on the side table with the other suggested reads offers a wonderful way to extend our discussions and support one another.
Again, thank you

Such a helpful resource! I love Firekeeper's Daughter (and the sequel) so much, and I cannot wait to share it with my book club.

Thankyou for the publisher and NetGalley for this book club. It's an exciting kit with an author interview, discussion questions that made reflect on the book and other resources! The enrichment to the reading experience was amazing! This is great resource for book clubs! I look forward to utilizing these in the future!

Not only do I enjoy them, but I know our guests at book club enjoy them too! Makes us look more organized when I don't feel like I am lol.
The book marks are always hit! A nice little keepsake to print out.

What a beautiful kit, I’m still completely enchanted!
The letter to the reader was wonderful and added such a special touch.
The bookmark section? Gorgeous and delicate.
I really appreciated that the recommendations included other books by indigenous authors and also provided a list of Indigenous organizations to support.
Overall, this wasn’t one of the kits with the most extra content (like recipes, additional activities, or playlists as some others had), but I found it to be one of the most beautiful.

It is a very good reading kit. It contains attractive and interesting elements. Thank you for providing such a valuable resource, I will certainly use it.

This book club kit is such a great idea, I loved the Q&A with the author as well as the printable bookmarks which could be great to give out at a bookclub meeting

Firekeeper's Daughter has been on by TBR forever but I have put off reading it because I knew it would really impact me and leave me with a lot of thoughts and emotions to process. I don't really have anyone in my life who I can discuss books like this so I was nervous to read this book and not be able to talk through it. This book club kit has me feeling so much more prepared and I cannot wait to finally begin reading this story. Thank you so much for providing this content and making it so accessible and well rounded.

This was a good kit! I appreciated that it has additional resources for indigenous stories to read next and to reflect on how indigenous culture affected the story. The printable bookmarks are such a good idea, and it's nice to learn how the author connects with her culture and the story.

The Book Club Kit is a fantastic resource for creating engaging and structured book club discussions. It includes thoughtful discussion questions, creative activities, and personalized book recommendations, making it easy to foster meaningful conversations. The kit’s design is user-friendly and visually appealing, whether you meet in person or online.

A big, big thanks to We Are Bookish, Angeline Boulley, and NetGalley for the opportunity to check out this book club kit for Firekeeper's Daughter. I loved the book and loved taking a look at the "About" section for both the book and the author, as well as the discussion-provoking questions included. The author interview was especially vulnerable and interesting, and I think provides a lot of insight into the book and into Boulley's writing style and choices of characters. I also appreciated the additional resources and recommendations of other books I would like if I liked Firekeeper's Daughter, and the bookmarks, which I love. Thanks again!

The Book Club Kit for "Firekeeper's Daughter" is loaded with resources for readers. The welcome letter from the author added a personal touch, and I enjoyed reading the Q&A with her. I always like hearing about writers' processes and their stories' origins and influences. The discussion questions were very thought-provoking and provided a wide variety of depth and scope for clubs to talk about the book. I also really appreciated the spotlight on other books by indigenous authors and stories about Indigenous People, as well as resources for people struggling with some of the issues highlighted in the book. The bookmarks based on the cover art were also a lovely addition.
