My Turn is an easy read, a rom-com, chronicling Nina and Harrison’s tumultuous relationship. The plot has many layers, many of are introduced in the second half of the story. Some are believable, while others are far fetched. Character development is strong for the newer characters, less so for those from the fist book. Though I did like the main characters, it took me a while to care about them, especially Nina. The story arc doesn’t quite explain why Nina is the love of Harrison’s life or why she is so beloved. Granny, however, is a treat The ending is satisfying as well

I didn’t realize it was the second book in a two-part series, until I started reading it. The book can stand alone, as the references to book 1 are readily included, fans of the first book will be happy to learn more about their favorite characters too.

Loved this book! So many twists and turns, I didn't see coming. Enjoyed the craziness of the story. Characters were well developed with back stories to complete the framework. It was easy to get caught up in the lives and drama.

Thank you NetGalley for the free arc. This review is my honest review.

The cover is adorable and the synopsis had me hooked, but the book fell just a little short of other books in the genre. There was a bit too much going on and a lot of unnecessary additions. It seems the author took something simple and in the process of trying to be different, muddied it up too much.

I am sorry, but I would not recommend this book.

Judging by the description of the book I thought it would be a great rom-com but sadly was disappointed. The plot was all over the place and some parts of it could have been left out which I feel would have made the story better. I feel this book would have been much better if the writer had rewrote it. There's just too many plot lines which is why it makes it so hard to read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

Nina was stood up at prom and has never gotten over it. Fast forward a few years and her best friend is marrying her prom nemesis’s best friend. She has to deal with Harrison face to face. I liked that the book had dual POVs so we get both sides of the story. I enjoyed this book but it wasn’t the best romcom I’ve ever read.

Unfortunately had to DNF this one… so incredibly boring I just couldn’t force myself to go through the whole experience of this book. Disappointed.

Nina Bryant gets her heart broken the day of her senior prom when she gets stood up by Harrison McCall. Trying to run from her pain she takes off to the big city to start her new life and career. As luck would have it, Harrison also ends up in New York City.

When their mutual best friends, Addie and Jameson, end up engaged, they are chosen as maid of honor and the best man. As they come together years later, Nina realizes she still has feelings for Harrison and starts to learn the truth about that dreadful day her senior year. Instead of running this time, Nina has to allow her walls to come down for their second chance at love.

But there will be many obstacles to overcome to get there!

This was just okay read. Nothing fancy. Cute story. But I don't know if I would read it again.

Really liked the cover of this book and was excited to read it because I heard it had one of my favorite tropes, the second chance romance. But it fell short pretty quickly in. I was not a huge fan of either of the main characters, which makes it hard to root for them and enjoy their story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing a free copy in exchange of an honest review. Okay so this is way better than the first book. I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers but idk I think the writing improved too? All in all it’s enjoyable but there’s so much going on lol.

Such a good book, loved how the book was separated by either Nina's or Harrison's point of view. Grammy was a character, such a spunky older woman; who raised Nina after the death of her parents. I think Ms. Jones did a remarkable job on the plot, and the characters. Can't wait to see what she writes or rather who she writes about next. Is it Owen's turn to find love and romance or is it Mason's and Lillie's turn to walk down the aisle?
I have received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest and unbiased review.

I enjoyed this book! At the beginning it was kind of hard to read. I think I liked the first book more but overall it was a good book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I liked the cover and the synopsis of this story. It combined two of my favorite tropes - second chance romance and enemies to lovers. There was a lot of potential, but the novel fell short of expectations for me.

The writing definitely "told" more than "showed," which made it hard for me to connect to the story and characters. All of the characters felt under-developed - though, I did feel like the main character, Nina, had the most development and arc of anyone. Nina and Harrison's backstory felt unrealistic to me, but setting that side, because of the telling, I didn't see their chemistry or love, which made me not care about what happened to them. A lot of the narration felt like stage directions or repetitions of the same thoughts. The characters also didn't speak like anyone I knew, which took me out of it. There was also a ton of info-dumping at the end to tie up the story. All loose ends were tied up, though, which I appreciated.

My Turn is a rom-com written by Allison Jones where Nina and Harrison, who had an incident at prom fifteen years ago which ruined their relationship, have to face eachother after their best friends are going to get married.

I think that, while the story had potential (I love second changes) the execution wasn't the best. It felt like it lacked deep, every interaction, every discovery, literally written in two lines and let go. I mean, their first kiss in the whole book was written in two lines?? That's probably why I didn't particularly root for the characters

The pacing also wasn''t the best, all the flashbacks could have been distributed along all the book and not in the first chapter, that made the start confusing.

Another critique is that there are too plot lines, many are useless to the general plot and could have been easily cutted out.

I know this review may sound all bad, but even thought I had my criticism, I had overall a good time reading this book, and I especially liked the found family trope, The Grammy and the autism rappresentation

Definitely struggled to get into this book (felt a little overdone at first). However, i enjoyed once i got more into it. Especially when everything wrapped at the end. The beginning get long but the pacing got better throughout the book.

I feel a bit torn about this book, one half of me really enjoyed it, particularly Owen and Grammy who were the stars of the show! But there were some flaws for me in the character developments and especially the relationship between Nina and Harrison, I just felt they could have been a bit more romantically developed to make me really root for them! Overall, an enjoyable read.

Full of twists and funny moments throughout the book, a rollercoaster for a very sweet romance and kept me wanting more!

I picked this book up because the cute cover and a very interesting synopsis, unfortunately the writing and the short chapters really couldn't hold my interest.

The male main characters- were so underdeveloped, unrelatable and unlikeable and because of that, I just didn't care what happened to them. There was so much happening in the plot at the same time and I couldn't keep up with the plot anymore because of the annoyingly short chapters and constant switching of pov's.

The plot had potential but the writing and its structure ruined it.

When I received this arc I got very excited since I loved book one. But sadly this was not as great. I could not see much chemistry between our main characters but loved the individually and loved seeing the characters from book one. I was afraid that the plot twist would be done like every other book and lead to a big misunderstanding, but luckily the author handled it well
