This book just couldn’t catch my attention. I do want to pick it back up one day and try again, but it’s been months and it hasn’t happened yet.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the book at all, but I think my main problem was that it threw me off when I found out that this book was a sequel. I didn’t feel lost in the story because I hadn’t read the previous book, but I do think I’ll have a better reading experience if I try the first book, Have We Met?, first!

Rating 3 stars because I think my DNFing is more a me problem, than the book’s problem! I will revisit and post an actual review after I come back and read it again!

This was a light entertaining read. I liked Tiwanda and her journey to discover more about her parents and to find love.

What a great book! I love everything by this author and this book was no different! I couldn't put this down and was up all night waiting to see how it ended!

Even though it started off strong, this book just wasn't for me. I couldn't relate to the characters at all.

I liked The Moment We Met- I liked Tiwanda’s character and willingness to bet on herself and her business. The book takes readers on the journey of Tiwanda becoming a full-time entrepreneur and trying to date, using an app called Met. She learns a lot about herself, her parents (whom are deceased), and giving herself grace. It was a good read, easy to follow, and lighthearted.

The Moment We Met follows the story of Taiwanda, the cousin of Corrinne, the MC of the authors first book, Have We Met?. I won't lie, Taiwanda was my least favorite character in the first book and I was very sckeptical going into this one. The story starts with Taiwanda turning 30 and still working the job that was sucking the life out of her. She impulsively quits her job the next day and devotes her time and energy completely to her dream business. This where MET enters. For those who have not read book 1, MET is a dating app that was referred to Taiwanda by her cousin Corrinne. This app leads her to meet 4 potential soulmates and leaves with her to choose which one is the right one while leading with subtle hints. The story proceeds with Taiwanda starting the business of her dreams while trying to figure out if her soulmate exists.

Now here's where I have problems with this story, as charming as the first book was there was a lot of unanswered questions in it. They kind of just stayed unanswered and was dragged into this book. Having read, both now I still do not have the answers. Like how does this app work? does it really divert the energy from a lost loved one? How did it get installed in Corinne's phone in the first place? Answers? Hello?

A great premise that just didn't come to much. I would've loved to see a different person be picked, as it felt pretty obvious who the MC would end up with. It's marketed like a romance, but there's loads of other stuff going on that I wasn't that interested in.

I requested a copy of this book to review (an am very grateful that I got the chance) on the basis that this would be primarily a romance. Maybe my mistake but this was somewhat lacking. Once I got over this it was a good read. Enjoyable and a nice break from real life.

Have I ever DNFed a book after reading the first sentence? No.
Was this the first time? yes.

I just could not continue after that one sentence. It's defiantly a me thing, but comparing getting rejection to being dead or death, just not my sense of humor if it was supposed to be funny.

I think I have rad another book by this author called 'Have we met?'
This delivers the same ease of reading, steady enjoyment of a book.

It's no literary masterpiece but it is that lovely kind of filler book that you need between heavier reads.

I liked this novel more than I was expecting. Except I think I would have wanted it to have more romance than it did. It would have been lovely to see Taiwanda's relationship with Ben flourish. Other than that it was really great to see how it touched on family and friendship bonds. My favorite part was how Taiwanda's family was able to repair their broken relationship and come together again. As for the Met app, it was a really interesting how the author meshed the dating app concept with Taiwanda's mother who had passed away. Like if she was an angel from above guiding her. Over all I give it a solid 4 stars. I REALLY ENJOYED IT.

The day Tiwanda Harris turns 30 marks a significant turning point. Tiwanda is now able to see her mother as an adult after receiving her late mother's notebook as a gift. Soon later, the aspiring businessperson is awarded a grant to help launch a tempting business prospect, but her sweet aspirations don't stop there. A dating app called Met has been provided to Tiwanda and claims to have four matches, one of whom is her soul mate. Tiwanda just needs to select "Yes" once.

She may not think she can fit romance into her life, but she has a choice. Tiwanda is shocked to see that perhaps there is some hope for the future there after all as the matches start to appear. But which of these may result in true love? Time will only tell. If she can just find the time.

Tiwanda is exhausted from pursuing so many goals, as her attention is split between starting her job, mending old family rifts, retaining friendships while forming new ones, and also attempting to open her heart to romantic love. But who can say? There may be a possibility for all those aspirations to come true if fate is on her side.

The plot seemed quite flat, despite how fantastic the blurb seems. I struggled to keep up since there were too many characters and storylines. The relationship is a major component of the plot even if it isn't the book's primary emphasis, however it was so underdeveloped.

I believe you will enjoy this book if you enjoyed The Love Hypothesis. I didn't necessarily love this one as much as I didn't enjoy The Love Hypothesis. The major characters, notably the love interest, are similar to Adam and Olive. Even if thematically, it resembles an Emily Henry novel, I still couldn’t get myself to love this book.

The concept of the soulmate finding app is different but unbelievable. No amount of digitalization can predict what a person's heart wants. And for this reason, the story didn't quite seem exciting to me. The chemistry that Tiwanda shared with her soul mate could be felt from the first meet itself thus it seemed a bit predictable (cliched), whom she would choose.

Having read Have We Met I looked forward to the next standalone book in this series. I enjoyed this book for the most part. I wish there was more of it, at times I wanted to see more interactions between Tiwanda and her potential love matches. The book did a good job creating a dimensional character in Tiwanda, as she navigated a new career path, self discovery, life and finding love. The characters could be people you might encounter in real life, blending friendships and romances in a relatable way.

This is a story about Tiwanda, a woman who just turned thirty and like many that age is at a crossroads. Met, the dating app that mysteriously appeared on her cousin’s phone in the first book, makes an appearance on Tiwanda’s phone as well. And she is left to decide: will she follow the app’s suggestions? Or will she continue to believe that she is not meant for a relationship?

Now, the good stuff.

I love this style of writing of this author. There is a cool, calm vibe that is brought to the page in her debut novel, Have We Met? This was no different. Keeping with the same vibe, Tiwanda has it all together…until she doesn’t. With the milestone birthday and other life changes, Tiwanda is forced to change and change again, and it throws her off balance. This book is just as heartwarming as it is hilarious.

The author has you rooting for one person on one page, and then wholeheartedly rooting for a different person on the next page. The person she ends up with, though is the best.

Sadly this book wasn't for me. It read as more women's fiction than romance and I found the story really slow to with a lot of characters to keep track of. I ended up DNF'ing at around 35%. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

I found it quite boring and it just skimmed the surface of the characters and it did not allow you. to know anything of depth about them to give you a view of who they are. I was so close to DNF but I pushed through because. I do not like to DNF arcs. but I should have.

I really wish I could finish this book because the cover is so pretty and the blurb was interesting enough for me to request the ARC, but it's not my second or third attempt to at least reached 50% of the book. It seems like I just can't get into the story, it felt flat and I'm not going to force myself to continue. I don't feel connected to the characters and the writing is not to my liking. I tried to read the first book too (Have We Met?) but I'm also struggling with the same thing: it took me forever to get into the story. Probably going to try reading this again in the future.

I am sorry to say that I had a hard time getting in to this book and couldn't really understand why but know I think why.

I think it is because I haven't read the first one about MET that is called Have we MET?

I might wanna do a re-read on this one after reading the first one because both are highly recommended and I loved the description of this part. Another thing I loved was the cover. In my opinion it is so beautiful.

So for now this will be giving 2 stars but it might get higher later on.
