Beautiful. Poignant. Phenomenal.
This was a beautiful read and I learnt so much. I cried and I smiled and there was nothing more that I wanted from this book. Truly a gem.

A really interesting book exploring the role of muses within art and their stories.
Everyone with a interest in art would learn something from this either about muses, art or artists.
A enjoyable book with lots to ponder over.
My thanks to go the author, publisher and Netgalley for this arc in return for a honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. When I think of muses, I often think of beautiful women who end up dying tragically (like Elizabeth Siddal), so it was interesting to read this book and see a broader range of muses' stories.
The book is written in a really accessible way, so I never felt like it was too heavy reading and I found heaps of nuggets of information that I was then sharing with any one who would listen.
My favourite chapters were on Elizabeth Siddal, Frida Kahlo and Ottoline Morrell, but I also found some new names that I want to read more about, such as Sunday Reed, who was Australian but I had never heard of her (even though I'm Australian).
All in all, a really enjoyable book. I think it would actually work really well as a book group read as there is so much about the lives of the muses and artists to discuss!

There are so many interesting stories about muses packed into this book. It upended my understanding of what a muse is and has been and I learnt so much about artists across the world. Please consider writing a history of muses with less muses and going into more detail on each one. I for one would be interested in understanding more details about the creative process between artist and muse and their lives,
