I managed to get 60% of the way through, 3rd time of attempting to read. But still found myself unable to be bothered to read further. After there was definitely an HEA so...
It was interesting to read.ise that kingdoms still existed within Nigeria, and that basically they were still fiefdom and could be as small as a single estate and village. The wedding dress and idea of 'buying' a bride was also worth realising. Not sure how they calculated worth though.
That said, I found some elements in the story confusing. If Kemi was the elder of the 2 girls, then she could only have had a half sister or half siblings. But where did the brothers come from? Especially as it said the King only had 2 daughters. Unclear familial relationships especially as the King was Christian, so how come he had 3 wives? I thought the book would have been improved with some background on Nigeria etc etcfor those of us who know nothing about it.
A book in need of, was my end opinion.

Set in Nigeria Princess Kemi has been kept in a gilded cage with her sister. On a rare night out she meets Luke and has a one night stand. She is pregnant and has to marry him, but is she merely exchanging one gilded cage for another?

I enjoyed this book as it gave an insight in to Nigeria and its culture rather than just the typical M&B narrative (which there is nothing wrong with). Which, for me, elevated the whole novel.

An enjoyable romance with a good, well-paced plot, and likeable characters. I was interested in its Nigerian setting and the mentions of Nigerian culture which added depth to the story. Luke and Kemi were believable as a couple and their journey was both heartwarming and emotional. As the story went on, you really do root for the two to be happy which is always a good sign. The author is clearly talented at weaving a story and keeping the reader engaged throughout.

Kemi has led a very sheltered life as a princess whereas Luke is a security expert who has experienced tragedy in his life and has now shut himself from it all. When a chance encounter at a nightclub after Kemi sneaks out results in her getting pregnant he must now step up and marry her to make their child legitimate. This story delves into the relationship as they get to know each other and work out their issues together

Am original take on the titled romance. Kemi is a princess and has been kept away from life and the world since she was little. It is her and her exuberant sister against the world. When she falls pregnant unintentionally, she wakes up to find Luke will be marrying her. Their life is a discovery and the raw emotion and hurt of a painful past is carefully explored along with beautiful scenery.
