A warm feel good romance. I loved Nora as a character and found her relatable and funny. The story was sweet and the perfect romance for anyone who wants a rom com to take to the beach

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Suddenly That Summer
by Lizzie Byron

Nora has just turned 27 and is having a meltdown. She is in a dead end job everyone round about her knows where their life is going and she doesn’t have a clue . She thinks she has been offered her perfect job to discover it’s been offered to someone else after she looses it with her boss and leaves her old job. She leaves London for Cornwall to organise an art festival for three months.

I loved this book the author draws you in and has you thinking your there. It’s full of quirky & eccentric characters. Troubled artists and the descriptive scenery has you on the cliff enjoying the view.

An easy read though the last part of the book is rather drawn out it with will they or won’t they regarding the romantic interest.

A very easy to read book with a super cheesy romance that I enjoyed. It was a slow starter for me that took rather a while to get going for me. The perfect beach side read.

The most perfect summer read, which I could not put down. This book allowed a wave of emotions to rush through me, each more pulsating than the next.

Nora is in Cornwall after the end of her job in London. She is only there for a few weeks to set up an arts festival, but then she meets Sendhil. What will happen for them by the time the festival is over?

Another wonderful read by Lizzie Byron. I devoured this book, couldn't put it down. It's so full of humour, heart and romance. I adored Nora. Such a sweet, strong, lovely character. Could have done without her complaining she was old at 27 though. Her relationship with her uncles was particularly heartwarming. Oliver and Dodger were the stars of the book for me. Oliver's look of a haunted Victiorian child made me laugh so much. I've a bit of a crush on Sendhil now. Any man who loves cats is okay with me. Suddenly That Summer, is a definite must read this summer.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Nora is very excited, as she’s been offered a job, her dream job. But then finds out that it’s been given to someone else.

Now, she’s not looking forward to the summer. So she goes to Cornwall, when she’s offered a chance. Will things change for her whilst she’s there.

I liked her character and the story was easy to read, making you feel as though you are there in Cornwall.

I also liked how Nora met Sendhil, who later she starts a relationship with.

The author writing draws you into the story. If you’re looking for a summer read, I’d recommend this book.

An easy, cheesy summer romance book, with Nora escaping to Cornwall after she discovers that her dream job was offered to someone else.

I knew this book wasn't quite for me early on, struggling with the way that the characters spoke and with the writing style - it felt like a lot of scene building and focus on the party that at times I found it difficult to not skim the pages until I got to a more interesting part.

I loved the dynamic between some of the characters, particularly the familial love between Alice and Sendhil and the relationship between Nora's uncles. It was sweet to read and the main highlight of the book for me.

<spoiler> I was rooting for Sendhil and Alice - I really was. I love a slow burn and that was masterfully done for the first half of the book. However a pet peeve for me in romance books is when the characters begin declaring love within weeks of knowing each other, and that was precisely what happened here. As Nora's best friend aptly put it, "So, you shagged once and he wants you to give up your whole life and move to Pidwell?"
This was precisely my feelings. Stating after they slept together once that he is already thinking of spending the rest of his life with her and having children with her quickly turned me off and made me cringe. Everything moved very quickly and it didn't really seem in character for Sendhil which further put me off. </spoiler>

Regardless, this book was sweet and perfect for a quick summer beach read.

A bit of a slow burn for me this - I almost put it down for good when the 20-something MC had a crisis about getting 'old' near the beginning, but I'm glad I persevered! Love the small town 'let's put the show on here' vibes, the setting, the supporting characters and the romance, although the finding yourself aspect was perhaps stronger. It'll be a sweet summer beach/staycation read anyway!

The MC need to escape and I wanted some good escapism. This was the perfect escapist book as I had fun, rooted for the characters, and enjoyed the setting and the well written story.
The author is a good storyteller and the plot flows.
Recommended.

Nora was excited after being offered her dream job but soon she discovers that the dream job was offered to someone else. Suddenly, that summer doesn't look too bright for Nora. So Nora ends up escaping to idyllic Cornwall as soon as she gets that opportunity. Will she find something in Cornwall?

Nora's character is an enjoyable character to read and I really actually enjoyed reading the story. It really felt like you are spending the summer in idyllic Cornwall and feel like you are there. I like the author's style of writing and the author has done a good job of drawing the reader into the story. I do like how Nora and Sendhil, the guy she meets while she was in Cornwall soon become friends and then turn into a relationship. I also like how the author has outline her relationships with her uncles and her life back in London.

So if you like to read a cheesy summer romance then this book is one for you--worth five stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Cornet for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

A beautifully written and perfectly paced, slowly revealing secret after secret until you're not sure of anything anymore - only that you have to keep reading…..
Overall this was a fun, exciting romantic book that gave me several hours of escapism and enjoyment.

What do you do when you’ve lost the job you’d built your life around? Run off the Cornwall! That’s what our heroine does after being gifted a place to stay and something to do for the summer, and we get to see her juggling these balls, whilst also finding herself in the process. I feel the story couldn’t tell what it was, as in parts it felt very realistic, but quite absurd in others, but overall it was a good read. My only regret is that the ending felt a bit abrupt, and when I got to the last sentence I turned the page expecting more, only to be dismayed.

This really is the perfect, feel good summery read. It's funny, fun, and absolutely fabulous. Make sure you don't miss it this summer.

I loved Someday at Christmas, it felt like a proper Christmas romcom in all the best of ways. Now Lizzie Bryon is back to do the same for the summer, with this perfect slice of romantic escapism. Nora is 27 and lost in so many ways - whilst her peers seem to have it all sorted, she fears that life is slipping through her fingers. Chance leads her to a small Cornish village to work on an arts festival with a host of adorable characters and a gorgeous eligible neighbour.
Instead of a review, I'm tempted just to list off all manner of superlatives to described how much I loved this movie. As a devoted Londoner through and through, it had even me seriously considering moving to Cornwall to find my tribe and my Sendhill....
The summer read you *need* to get your hands on.

When Things Turn Sour…
When things turn sour for Nora she decides that disappearing to Cornwall might just be a blessing. It may well be that her time there is to become more than just a passing distraction. Will she find everything she thinks she’s been looking for? With a cast of colourful and well crafted characters and a delightful backdrop this is an enjoyable Summer read and a pleasant dose of escapism.
