I was so excited to read this one, having adored the Why Mummy series, and it didn't disappoint. Gill Sims absolutely nails life as an exhausted middle aged mother. This one was just as entertaining as her previous books and I loved the cameo appearance of Louisa - just so hilarious. It was also unexpectedly tear-jerking in places and ultimately uplifting and left me with a big smile on my face. Don't ever stop writing please Gill, your books are the best.
With grateful thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK and Gill Sims for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

What a delightful funny read, a host of wonderful characters that I wish were my friends, I'm a mum and a Nannie and this book has made me want to do things for myself, maybe not the life drawing classes as I can't draw at all, but to do something different, I loved every page, just wonderful

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

I love Gill Sims, her books her Instagram just make me laugh. This book was no exception.

Claire is happily married with two children, when she finds out by accident that her husband is having an affair with her best friend. She then realises that actually no she’s not happy, her friends are his friends and that she is pretty much alone!

That’s when she befriends Lucy, Kate and Mary and the Sauvignon adventures begin!

This book is so relatable, from the first mention of a the dogs ‘lipstick’, to the crushing hangover post wine night, whiney children and awful exes. I laughed, I cried and I got mega angry. I definitely wanted to be in this girl gang trying all of the new things!

I cannot recommend this enough, 5 stars and did I mention it was funny?

Thank you so much NetGalley and Harper Collins, UK for granting my wish for The Saturday Night Sauvignon Sisterhood by Gill Sims.

Having previously read the Why Mummy Drinks series, I was really looking forward to a relaxing, fun and relatable read that would take me away from the real world, and once again Gill Sims delivered.

From the outside, Claire’s life is practically perfect, married, with a great job and 2 children, what more could she ask for? Unfortunately, life isn’t that perfect, her marriage is rather stale and then she discovers that her husband and best friend have had an affair! What hurts more the loss of a husband or the loss of a life-long best friend? Where does Claire go now? What does she do?

This book dives into female relationships, misogyny, relationship double standards, and of course wine and friendships! This book is funny, laugh out loud funny, poignant, relatable and a total escape from life. Everyone woman who reads this book will see herself in at least one of the characters and Sims wraps up the joys of disliking and snarking that we all do behind the backs of the uber perfect Tarquin and Jacinta mummies!

Another great read that is easy to fall into and not want to put down. Gill Sims definitely has a way with words that pulls you in…even if I do disagree completely with her opinions on Irish Setters, who are in fact totally loveable, not at all stupid or highly strung.

I absolutely Loved the Why Mummy series of books from Gill Sims, so as soon as I saw this one I couldn't wait to read it.
Once again, a funny, literal laugh out loud book that I just flew through. The book dealt with so many emotions including betrayal, death, grief but the humour always stood out above everything else.
I read a few snippets out to my husband because it was totally something I would say and/or think, and he totally agreed.
Would definitely recommend this for someone who needs a nice easy going read, that will make you laugh.
Great read ❤️

Busy Mum Claire is having to deal with it all; a hectic job. two primary aged children who are convinced that being made to eat vegetables is classed as child abuse and a husband who is so busy he can't possibly lift a finger to help around the house. Thankfully Claire has her best friend Emily to keep her sane. Claire is just about able to keep everything under control until one day she makes a discovery that will have far flung implications.

The Gill Sim's series of Why Mummy.... books have been on my radar for a while but I've never quite gotten around to reading them, therefore when I got the opportunity to read The Saturday Night Sauvignon Sisterhood I leapt at the chance.

Firstly I must admit that I don't have children so can only imagine what bringing young children up is like. The scenes involving the children are actually the funniest parts of the book and I was laughing out loud from the first chapter. Having been a teacher for 35 years I've heard the refrain that "it's against my human rights" a number of times so for Claire to have this thrown at her repeatedly from her own children was hilarious.

I am sure that many parents are just like Claire and have to bite back what they really want to say and have to explain in a quiet and calm manner why the rules are the way they are. You could really feel Claire's frustration having to deal with internet savvy children without the support of her husband, a typical "hands off" father.

When fate intervenes and Claire realises she's stopped being a person in her own right, she is then in the predicament of how do adults make friends. This leads to some funny situations and some extremely strange characters. I appreciated the fact that the author didn't tie everything up at the end with a nice tidy bow, life doesn't always have a perfect happy ending.

This is an amusing and easy read, although it also touches on some very serious subjects. I enjoyed it very much.
Married mother of two, Claire, finds that her life is thrown into chaos and so she finds herself forming bonds with a set of new friends ‘the Saturday Night Sauvignon Sisters’. This is a book about love, families and friendships. A good read, perfect for summer.
Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Claire has a nearly perfect normal life. She has a great job, a great home, a husband, and two children. She also has a life long best friend, Emily. The only down side is that her husband and her best friend are having an affair. Claire needs to decide how she is going to change her life, and face the yoga mummies of the playground when they all find out her life has been tipped upside down.

This is a great new book from the author of the “Why Mummy’s” series of books. This is relatable and funny. I’m pretty sure every woman has felt like the characters in this book at some time or another. The characters were great, and out of them all I felt Lucy was most like myself, who laughs everything off, even bad situations that most certainly should not be laughed at. I read this book quite quickly as, like all this authors work, they are easy, lighthearted reads. I would recommend.

I have read Gill Sims previous book series & really enjoyed them but was concerned whether this new book would live up to my expectations but I was not disappointed & couldn't put it down once I'd started. The laugh out loud moments, the ups & downs & trials of friendships were excellent & well written. I highly recommend this & send my congratulations to Gill for producing another brilliant book.

I don’t think there is anything better than a sunny Saturday afternoon and a new Gill Sims novel!
Meet Claire, she’s just found out that her husband has had an affair with her best and only friend, and her world has imploded.
She is suddenly alone with Tabitha and Lucas, her 2 primary school kids, and desperately in need of someone to help her pick herself up. Into her life come Lucy, Mary and Kate - slowly Claire realises they are other friends out there and the Saturday Sauvignon Sisterhood is born.
This is a wonderful and very, very funny novel. I miss Ellen, Peter and Jane from the first books (though her dreadful sister in law does get a cameo in one of the funniest scenes in the book), but Claire, her kids, her friends and her wonderful dog Sadie are delightful company. This is a fabulous story of female friendship and support.
I belted through it in a day and alarmed my family when I convulsed with laughter in places. If you need cheering up and entertaining this is the book for you.
Thank you to #netgalley and #harpercollinsuk for allowing me to review this ARC

A tale of middle aged life with young children and a husband who is far too busy and important to get involved in day to day childcare. But what happens when life is turned upside down and changes have to be made?
A true to life tale that many a wife and mother will relate to.

Very funny, a truly laugh out loud read. Better not to read it in public, though ;-)
Honestly, I was a bit put out by the very long sentences at first, but after a while I didn't even notice them anymore and was completely sucked into the story and had great fun!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another great funny read by gill sims although I have to admit I did miss hearing about Peter and Jane from the previous why mummy books!
The Saturday night Sauvignon sisterhood epitomises female relationships in all their glory from the bitchy school gate mums, the superior still married ones, the cheating best friend but mostly the benefits of true friends that are there for you through thick and thin all ably assisted by a bottle or two of wine!
Where would we all be without great female friendship to help us through life? Keep your friends close, spend time with them, value that friendship as you never know when you will need them most!
Thank you netgalley fir this early read!
