This is a great story to read with your child teaching them about the importance of bath time and how to make it fun. Filled with fun pictures and great story telling I enjoyed reading this with my child and my child enjoyed listening to it wanting to hear it every evening. Very enjoyable children's story.

A successful early reader, using the old trope about the monster being the opposite of us – afraid of the child under the bed, and hating the idea of being clean and having a bath. Gerald's character is a nice one to convey the slender story here, even if his mother looks about as monstrous as those knitted ballerinas old women keep their spare loo rolls under. Bright and colourful, the story is read very easily, the humour is on point and this is entertaining enough to not deserve being dropped in the bath.
