I am such a huge fan of Peaky Blinders, the time period, and of the location so I was very excited to review recipes in the cookbook! The recipes were spot on for the time period, and might not be to my particular liking but overall very fun and themed well to the show. I also really enjoyed the additional photos included in the book of the characters within. Definitely a wonderfully nostalgic memorabilia to add to your collection.

This book was great! I couldn't put it down! The premise was fresh and new, which is hard for me to say as I read so much each year! Sometimes it feels as though I keep reading similar stories, but this was a so original!

The Official Peaky Blinders Cookbook: 50 Recipes Selected by The Shelby Company Ltd is based on a popular British television series and is full of old fashioned (the series takes place starting 1919) yummy British recipes that were served during that time period. Most are simple to make, and most sound delicious.

The recipes are easy to follow and are for dishes that even non-British and those who aren’t familiar with iconic British food will love and will be very tempted to make. Most call for easy-to-find ingredients that are available at any mainstream grocery store both in the UK or the US. The recipes don’t follow proper recipe protocol (most irritating since they assume the ingredients are yours as in “preheat ‘your’ oven” instead of preheat the oven – how does the author know if it’s “your” oven instead of your neighbor’s?). This type of unprofessional recipe writing is usually found in the thousands of recipe blogs that have suddenly appeared on the internet and show that many of the authors haven’t ever written a recipe before posting on their blogs. Although the author doesn’t know how to properly write a recipe, he does know how to develop a recipe and this faux pas won’t matter to most who are using this fun cookbook. Fans of the series will especially like this cookbook, and even those who just like British food will find themselves wanting to prepare almost every recipe in the cookbook. My queue gets longer every time I pick up this cookbook.

All told, almost everyone – those familiar and those who aren’t - with the series will have a good time making the recipes.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I've never watched Peaky Blinders, so I'm probably not getting the full benefit from this book. I do love reading about old recipes though, of which there were a good range in this collection, and I'm looking forward to trying some of them out.

Loved it! Will definitely try some of those recipes. The pictures of the food are really nice, and it's well-linked to the show throughout the book - it would make an excellent gift for someone who's a fan of the show, or for any amateur cook interested in that time period!

okay, im going to start this off by saying i love peaky blinders and i love cookbooks so when i saw this was a thing i was very excited about it.

this cookbook was so so good - the recipes are logical, clear and easy to follow and the design of the book was beautiful , props to the design team because the layout, choice of imagery and choice of recipe all helped to tell narrative that follows the show in terms of growth and wealth and it had that peaky essence to it.

i cant wait to get my hands on a physical copy of this book and am grateful to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC for review.

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* I started watching this show, wanted to get my husband into it but he didn't care much for it. i think this may be the way to get him to watch more than 10mins of it. Or at the very least, eat some good food lol

As a huge fan of the show, I enjoyed the cookbook. For me personally, this was more of a cookbook for reading the history of the dishes and taking in the gorgeous photography rather than a cookbook with recipes I will make. The only thing I would change is to have fewer cast photos and more about history of the time period. That's just a personal preference.

Very interesting! Part cookbook, part history, part show book.

The recipes would be historically accurate (with modern adaptations) and sound so delicious.

By order of The Peaky Blinders, this cookbook is excellent!! Bringing to life scenes from the series in your own kitchen, what more would a fan want. This would be so useful for anyone planning a Peaky Blinders party, too.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publishers for this advance copy to read.

4☆ A Beautiful Keepsake / Memorabilia

If you love the TV Series Peaky Blinders then you will love this special Cookbook.
It's the perfect memorabilia, the recipes are Exquisite, the photographs Superb and would make a Beautiful Gift.

Although the recipes are Exquisite and keeping in tradition to the era of the series, unfortunately there are maybe a handful that appeal to my taste.
This book is definitely a foodies delight!

There are recipes such as Roast Rabbit with Bacon & Mushrooms in a whisky sauce, Pork Scratching Sticks with Smoked Paprika & Sea Salt, Grilled Oysters with Parmesan Crumb, Sloe Gin Jellies with Blackberries & Cream, Apple Charlotte, Lobster Croquettes, Gamekeepers Pie, Lamb Cutlets in Rosemary, Anchovy & Caper Butter with Slow Braised Leeks, Mushroom, Chard & Beetroot Tart, ..to name a few.

What I loved was that the ingredients are measured in grams, oz and cups which is brilliant as it saves time on conversions.
This isn't the type of Cookbook that you buy to be Conscious when spending on ingredients as the recipes are rather indulgent and perfect for special occasions or dinner parties.

Overall I loved this Cookbook, I adore the TV Series so this Cookbook is a lovely addition to the show and having the beautiful photographs from the series just makes it extra special.

This is a great cookbook if you're a fan of the show! granted, You don't see Thomas Shelby sat down for a roast, but the food is a good representation of the time period and where they are. This cookbook could be fun for a themed dinner with drinks. I also love the pictures from the show throughout the book. The English summer salad will be the first recipe I try!

By Order Of The Peaky Blinders!
Great cookbook for both fans of Peaky Blinders and fans of good cooking.
In this one, you will find recipes for fancy dinners as well as casual bites to have for binging the newest season of the show. Along with the amazing pictures of food, you can also see high-quality stills from the show.
Cuisine-wise it is mostly Irish and Scottish meals, we are talking meat pies, lamb and fish, bread and boozed bases. You may follow the recipe or you can mix and mash your own, and supplement almost everything.
Some of my favorites are:
RAISED MINI PORK & HERB PIES
MINI CURRIED LAMB PIES
STEAK & ALE PIE with MASH
CHICKEN & PORK TERRINE with BRANDY & APRICOTS
I feel like this is a quality cookbook to have for your collection.

This cookbook is a real gem for all the Peaky Blinders fans. It was so well written. Amazing recipes, easy to follow. Beautiful photos of the meals. The back story for each dish is oh so lovely.

My favourite recipes from the cookbook are Lamb cutlets in rosemary, anchovy & caper butter with slow-braised leeks and Scotch eggs with mustard mayonnaise. So delicious.

All in all I really enjoyed this cookbook and I will for sure be making more recipes from it.

Absolutely phenomenal for fans of the show!!! As someone who both loves the show and cooking this was an absolutely delightful treat, especially with the show coming to an end soon.

Peaky Blinders brings me any and all happiness I have so getting this cookbook was some what of an honor. I find it slightly silly as we never see Tommy Shelby eat in the show, but of course he has to at some point. Also seeing recipes that would be staples in the family and peoples lives in this time period was a delight.

The photos from the show were fantastic and beautiful! I 100% want to try pretty much all of the recipes and have already made plans to try the desserts out, specifically, soon!

This was a great delight to read and I truly am thankful for this cookbook!

5 stars!
