I just want to start off by saying how much I appreciate the representation of anxiety/panic attacks in this book, how Kiva is able to explore her magic despite it and how her sister supports her every step of the way.
This was a little slow for me at the beginning, so much so I did leave it a couple of times and came back to it determined to finish it and I'm glad I did. Once the adventure kicked in, I was completely engaged and intrigued and actually finished it in one sitting. I like the use of the magic system but I would like to see more world building and development so that we get more history/how it works.
There were also a couple of surprises/plot twists I didn't see coming.
I was a little disappointed with the ending and couldn't believe I had finished reading so suddenly but I do look forward to reading the next book when it is released.

Tricia is such a great writer, I have loved all of her books, and this one was no exception! I love these characters so much. I really appreciate Ziva’s character having social anxiety, it is so nice to see a main character for once who isn’t the most confident and brave..it makes her so much more relatable! I love that Temra is so fiercely protective of Ziva and her anxiety, despite the fact that she is the younger sister! It was nice to see Ziva finally come out of her shell around Kellyn! But that ending..I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
