I really enjoyed this book. I thought the first part, or the background of Wiccan/witchcraft traditions, was a very good if broad overview of the practice and history even if it was a little light. I enjoyed the breakdown of the different aspects of practices and tools as well as the discussion of the sabbats and even practical spellwork, tarot, and rune reading. I enjoyed the diagrams and the key callouts throughout the book as well and thought they added a nice touch to remind the reader to be patient and/or to add an extra tip about a spell.

I love the general aesthetic and colour scheme, and it’s beautifully organized.

The symbols and sabbats are explained very well. There’s a little information about everything and it’s clear and concise. It even includes a few simple rituals and spells.

It also delves into tarot, runes, and other divination techniques, where I found the wax candlemancy particularly interesting.

I would have liked to see more variation in the “Deities” section, as there are so many cultures to pull from and not everyone will connect to Celtic or Roman mythology. This section was very sparse.

Overall, it was very informational and adds something new to the genre.
