Thank you NetGalley and the publishing house for this book. This book has fascinating characters. Huge imagination. Rich in details. Bryanna might be one of best characters i have read about in a long time. and Devon is someone you think is hard on Bryanna at first but he gets easier on he as time goes on. Classic Space Opera tale.

I've been reading quite a few books set in space recently, so was happy to pick this up.

Interesting conflict built into this book with the religion and the warlocks/humans split. I liked the fast pace of the action and the slow burn of the romance, but that's a preference of mine, that the romance doesn't overwhelm the plot. I did not like the cliff hanger though, I prefer trilogies with instalments that could be stand alone, but with threads to pick up in the next book rather than cliff hangers, but that's again a personal preference.

It’s amazing what a difference a well crafted book makes to a good plot. You just cannot put it down! Love the characters both the main ones and the lesser ones who have all been drawn with care and perception making them believable.

This book reminded me a lot of Mercedes Lackey writing style. The author is extremely likeable and starts off with a lot of fun. This appears to be an enemies to lovers format? In an alternative timeline humanity is split in two. Normal humans and magicans in space. This book covers one space empire. The book ends on a cliffhanger which frankly while popular today, is something personally dislike. It's unfortunate as otherwise an enjoyable evening read. Hopefully the next installment will pick up.

This was an interesting concept and book! I enjoyed the world building and the religious concepts in this book, but I did feel like the plot moved a bit fast. The relationship between the two main characters did feel very sudden. Overall though, I thought the main storyline and the entire concepts of Warlocks/Humans and the religious/communities showcased in this book was captivating and held my attention throughout the whole book.

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written with a compelling storyline and characters that were well developed and that I really liked. I like the romance element in the book which was more slow burn than I wanted but thats just because I am impatient and wanted it all straight away because I was so invested.
A really good read.
