Kitty certainly goes on a life journey with so much happening I don't know how she stayed steady and strong. My favourite part of the book is the medical field and I actually really enjoyed the Matron.

A really enjoyable sequel with our feisty heroine. A mix of social history, with a good narrative and some adventure makes this a compelling read. Another top story from this great author. I loved Nurse Kitty and hope there will be more from her.

I hadn’t read the first book but you can pick this up easily who the characters are. The book certainly was interesting to read and how the NHS was at the start of it.

Kitty is engaged to James who is pushing her to get married but if she does she will have to give up her nursing. We see Kitty going to Barbados to recruit woman to come and help the NHS in England. We can see how the woman cope in England with the prejudices of the staff in the hospital and also the patients.

It certainly was well written and enjoyed all the characters in it.

Have never read any other book by Maggie Campbell but this was so well written that I found it hard to put down!

From the first page I found it grabbed my attention, was fast moving, never dwelling too long on the same scenario. I found it easy to visualize each person in this book and the situations they would find themselves in. The characters were really well thought through. Maggie Campbell also brings a few of the problems we deal with in today's world, smoking and racial discrimination, fairly subtly done but shows that in 70 decades we still suffer from those same problems!

A great, easily read book, Nurse Kitty's Unforgettable Journey will not disappoint and look forward to finding the other Nurse Kitty books and other titles by the same author.

Kitty loves both her job and her fiance. Once she marries she will have to give up nursing, s0 relhe has been reluctant to set the date. She gets the chance to recruit nurses from Barbados to help keep the newly formed National Health Service run smoothly.
I loved this book- full of relationships, family drama and getting a work/life balance. I loved reading about her trip to Barbados with the ensuing problems. This book makes you want to keep reading

Not quite as good as the first book but still a very enjoyable read. It made for some uncomfortable reading at times but I was engrossed in Kitty's story. What a brave, compassionate, amazing woman. Love her. James annoyed me for most of the book but he redeemed himself in the end. I can't wait to see what the 1950s has for Kitty.

We revisit courageous Kitty, who is prepared to fight for the underdog and help anyone she thinks deserving.
Kitty is torn when her step father Bert is diagnosed with lung cancer and he wants to stay at home. Kitty sees it as her duty as a nurse to care for him., but has just been nominated to be the face of the new NHS in going to Barbados to recruit nursing staff. Matron who thinks Kitty should get promotion and wants her to take this opportunity so arranges care for Bert to enable Kitty to go. The only problem then is telling her fiancé James who is a plastic surgeon at the same hospital. She may not get the reaction she expects, as James is hoping to arrange the wedding!
Kitty thinks it’s an opportunity to catch up with her wayward brother Ned who she has been trying to contact to tell him about Bert.
Great read, recommend it.

I have always loved nursing stories and was excited to read this. It is book 2 bit it didn't matter that I hadn't read book 1.
I liked the idea of finding out more about the early days of the NHS and the push to being in overseas nurses and the part set in Barbados was interesting but too short and I would like to ha e known more about hospitals in the area.
Overall I couldn't warn to Kitty and her constant rows woth James and this spoilt my enjoyment. The book would have been better without the predictable nurse handsome doctor story line

When Nurse Kitty becomes the NHS's poster-girl for its overseas recruitment drive, she swaps the grey post-war backstreets of Manchester for the palm-fringed island of Barbados. But will her determination to save the NHS lose her everyone she loves?
I was engrossed from start to finish; such a well-crafted, thrilling and moving story surely marks this author as an author to watch. I can't wait for more!
