Thank you to both Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this title! This was another fantastically exciting instalment of the series and did not disappoint. Jackson Ford's characters jump off of the page and are laugh out loud funny, even (or especially) in the most dire of circumstances. The Frost Files are immediate reads for me at this point. I love Teegan as a character and am so excited for the 5th installment!

f Crazy Powers – Jackson Ford

Teagan Frost has enough sh*t to deal with, between her job as a telekinetic government operative and a certain pair of siblings who have returned from the dead to wreak havoc with their powers. But little does she know, things are about to get even more crazy…

Teagan might have survived the flash flood of the century, but now she’s trapped in a hotel by a bunch of gun-toting maniacs. And to make matters worse, her powers have mysteriously disappeared. Faced with certain death at every turn, Teagan will need to use every resource she has to stop a plot that could destroy Los Angeles – maybe even the entire world.

A Sh*tload of Crazy Powers marks the fourth outing for our favourite foul-mouthed would-be chef, telekinetic ass-kicking black ops government operative, following hot on the heels from The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind, Random Sh*t Flying Through The Air, and The Eye of the Sh*t Storm. All of which are enormous fun.

Teagan Frost is back, with a bang. As you’d expect. In earlier episodes (because hopefully those TV discussions are going to pay off) Jackson Ford cranked the dials all that way up to eleven on the action, peril and snarky internal monologue scales before finding the boss-mode setting on those dials for book 3.

Can you go higher than eleven? If you’re Jackson Ford you can. Just add another number, stomp on the gas and let’s gooooo.

The story here picks up directly after the events of Eye of the Sh*t Storm – trying very hard not to spoil that one if you’ve not read it – but suffice it to say that Teagan and the gang are not going to have a happy little picnic on the beach. They’re thrown into all sorts of shenanigans involving arms dealers, missing powers, secret tunnels, and some people you might be surprised to see. You get the general idea.

Do you need to read the previous books? Hell yes. I’ve been banging on about them for years now, and if you’ve not had the pleasure, get thee to your local friendly indie bookstore and grab all four.

Superb. Bring on book five, Jackson. If you’d be so kind. Sorry this review took so long.

I didn't realise this was the fourth book of a series before requesting for this so honestly, I was a little lost when I was reading this at first. There is a lot going on in this story and everything is very chaotic. It felt like a mixture of Deadpool and X-men mashed into one story.

it is already an exciting and thrilling ride from Chapter 1 as we have Teagan who is trying to figure out her next steps. This is where I realised she has telekinetic powers and is secretly working for the government. Teagan went on the run after discovering a shocking secret and got herself thrown into jail. Not long after, she was bailed out as part of a protection plan for a senator. But things went from bad to worse as she found herself in yet another sticky situation.

Teagan definitely has a strong and a stubborn personality. I find myself rooting for her and hoping she will overcome all the obstacles that comes her way. I also like what each of the character bring to the table. They are all unique in their own way which adds more depth to the story. I could still follow the story well despite this being the fourth instalment but now I am curious to know how it all started. I will definitely be on the hunt for the first three books.

Thank you Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the arc.

Teagan Frost is back with a bang.

This book picks up from where book 3 left off, and is chock full of references to the previous works. If you haven't started this series, I advise you go back to the beginning. Also, don't read any more of this review.

Teagan is reeling from the discovery that her brother and sister are not only alive, but are essentially the masterminds behind the events of the last two books. Her brother and sister's powers have changed exponentially - and one thing is very clear from the off - her brother is a psycho! Her sister on the other hand appears to be the leader here.

What can I say about this book that I haven't said about the others? Not a lot. I adore Teagan and the other crew. This book is told entirely from the viewpoints of Annie and Teagan - as they are separated at the start. With both taking part in their own stories.

I don't want to give anything away here, so I'll close with saying that I thought this was a great story once again from Jackson. The Frost Files goes from strength to strength - it has everything you need from a book of this genre. Loved it.

Wow. What did I just read. These books go from strength to strength in how wild and crazy the story line goes! I remember reading the first and, to be honest, feeling a little nonplussed about this over the top urban fantasy, thinking it was bringing too many elements that didn't flow too well together. However, I persevered, read the second and was blown away, characters feeling more fleshed out and better for it. The third followed in the same vein, bringing even greater threats and crazier powers. Where does one go from here? Well, Jackson Ford doubled down, with the main character having to go without her own powers whilst their siblings are running rampant. All in all, this is a step up in writing and, for me, a great book with my only criticism being some pacing issues. These books are a sh'tload of fun.

With book 4 in a series, there can be a risk of things becoming stale. Still readable, yes, still what you came to it to get, but - flat. After all, why change anything and risk putting people off?

It's a trap that Jackson Ford avoids here with aplomb. Crazy Powers - while I don't want to say too much about its outcome - upends the safe little world (well, for rather exotic values of "safe") that Teagan Frost, possessor of awesome psychokinetic (PK) abilities and would-be chef (if she can ever scrape together the money to train) has inhabited so far.

A recap. Teagan ('She has zero strategic skills, no filter, a constant ability to screw up even the best-laid plans. She can be ungrateful and whiny, and she takes sarcasm to an Olympic level') was gifted her abilities by mad-scientist parents who endowed her brother and sister with equally awesome, but different, powers (seeing infrared and never having to sleep, respectively). Teagan's brother then killed her parents and sister, and she herself was snapped up by the US Government which uses her for black ops in the Los Angeles area. Over the previous three books we've seen this situation gently come apart, culminating, at the end of Book 3, Eye of the Sh*t Storm, in Teagan sitting in hospital with her friend Annie, who's in a coma, and blaming herself for that.

This story picks up exactly where that previous one ended. Teagan is still battered, drained and haunted by the earlier events, and may have fatally exposed the secret of her powers by saving hundreds of people from a horrifying death, but she gets no rest, oh no. Ford plunges her into the midst of a kidnap attempt which leads up to one of those fabled LA police chases, all broadcast live on ghoulish news networks. From that point it only gets worse and worse. China Shop, the outfit for which Teagan works, is tasked with providing security for a convention of arms dealers (in an LA hotel? Something seems a bit off here) - and she's not even started to recover from recent events...

I loved this book. Totally loved it. Ford blends together a pack of irritable, exhausted operatives, living on shreds of their nerves; a new group of antagonists in the form of a weird, religious cult; and a bizarre location - the hotel itself, a gothic pile with rumoured hidden tunnels, a helipad and secret rooms. And a mystery, whose unpicking will show the whole sequence of books so far in a new light. He's also very sharp on the setting - we meet 'people who are able to take a red pen to black budgets' (watch out, China Shop!) in a milieu where 'Like most crowds of rich people, it's a mostly white, mostly male demographic.')

At the same time, old antagonists also return, affording Annie, who's a likeable and interesting character, a whole adventure of her own in parallel to that of Teagan and the rest. Annie is also battered and bruised, and her escapade - accompanied by Teagan's boyfriend Nic (is there a bit of a spark there? Ouch...) - gives an opportunity for her to reflect on her own early life, sharing details with the reader that we didn't know before. It also illuminates the relationship between her and Teagan, revealing a much more human side to both that Teagan's endless banter and Annie's chilliness has so far concealed. (Teagan's friendship with ex-gangster and drug dealer Annie is touching - 'Teagan is one of the most exasperating, irritating and confusing people that Annie has ever met... but she is also her friend. Maybe her only real friend.')

Both women, basically, get put through the mill here - one can almost taste their weariness and pain - and it's made plain that both care about much more than their own survival. There's a bond there, but there's also a sense of wider ethics and involvement in society, and perhaps also a sense of growing up, maturing (a bit. A little bit.) A reminder that they're not just action heroes. As you'd expect, it makes this a compelling and must-read instalment of this series and one which sets things up for another which I'll eagerly await. Truly, Teagan (and Ford) throw lots of sh*t up in the air and who knows where it will ever come down?

Frost Files books are getting amazing with each installment. These books are pure chaos in an amazing way. A Sh*tload of Crazy Powers was full of action and there was never a dull moment. Jackson Ford's writing style was amazing too. It was funny, smart, and very sarcastic. It was so much fun to read. I laughed a lot even in the acknowledgment section too. If you love action-packed and funny books this series is a must-read.

Very fast paced and a bit frenetic at times, full of action and drama. The characters never seem to slow down so if that is what you like then this is the novel for you. It carries on in a similar vein to the previous books but maybe a little darker in theme. True to its genre.

When starting this book I didn’t realise it was part of a series. But I quickly figured I was missing out on part of a story - a good part! However, it was still a fantastic read, entertaining, hilarious, quirky, almost slapstick at times. It introduced me to Teagan and the China Shop, and the rest of the crew. I feel like this, the fourth in the series, likely is really showing a development in the story and characters. For me, reading it as a stand alone piece I was still greatly entertained. Teagan is a hot mess with the ability to control objects with her mind - PK. She is even more of a hot mess when her dead brother and sister make an appearance. Then, just when you think she can’t get any more messed up…you get it. She becomes even more of a mess and loses her PK. Chaos ensues. Messy, entertaining, quip filled chaos. Tegan is a disaster, but she pulls through when people need her most. She has a very entertaining manner which as a reader, makes you enjoy every interaction with her.

I really enjoyed this book, and the first three in the series are on my ‘to read’ list now, and I would recommend that all four go on your list. This is a series that has teeth, full of action, a mix of different characters and fantastic writing. I hope it continues for a while, I am excited to read more from Jackson Ford!

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written with a funny storyline and well developed characters. It was fast paced and gripping with more action than an Arnie film. I couldn't put it down.
