I really enjoyed reading this book. it was so lighthearted and it reminded me of a romcom movie or a sitcom. I loved the fact that amelia and jenny were able to sort things out but i wish amelia and dan had a conversation about the situation too. the ending was pretty rushed which i didn’t like since the pregnancy was such a big part of the plot. overall it was a cute book but there was just a lot going on so it was hard to focus on individual characters and their development.

This book really resonated with me. Im a single mom in my mid-30s, so the beginning had me laughing and truly understanding what that dating life was like. Then the blended family and messy bits reminded me of my pre-teen years when my dad got remarried. I could totally relate to several characters in this story. It was so funny yet heartwarming, also so sad tid bits in between. Such a beautiful story! The ending was such a great way to wrap up the story!

This ARC was given to me to review from the publishers and NetGalley. All comments above are solely my true opinion after reading this book.

Oh my, I really loved Just The Six of Us. Where most books have the focus on 20-30 years old, I really loved how Dan and Jenny were 40-ish. I devoured the book within a day, I couldn't put it away. It is so sweet and heartwarming, Laurie Ellingham really managed to give you a look in a life with a blended family. It is so realistic and also shows the messy sides of parenthood. Even though there are six maincharactes you get to know each one of them very well. I could really relate to this book, I used to be the Amalia of the family. Throughout the chapters you switch between the POV's from Dan and Jenny, I love how we got to know both families. Six main characters are a lot but you get to know each single one of them and you close them in your heart one by one. The love for each other is palpable throughout the book. Just The Six of Us is heartwarming, funny but also romantic. I love it!

Omg such a light fun book! I loved it! I loved the connection between Dan and Jenny and how they cope with the problem they’re facing. And most importantly the kidsss!! Arrgh they’re sooo adorable. How the parents solved the problem and parenthood isn’t always easy there’s always ups and downs. It tells how communication is so important for this. It’s just hits reality hard! And most important thing is I am a sucker for single parent tropes! This book it’s make me laugh too, such a stress reliever book!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I loved this and devoured it in less than a day. 'Just the Six of Us' was funny, heartwarming, and easy to get into. The characters were likeable and I rooted for their relationship, and it was nice to see a romance centred around a couple with children from previous relationships and the extra challenges they faced. If only this was a series, I think I'd happily read more tales about the family!

Brilliant! Light hearted, laughter, and love!
Everyone deserves a second chance at love, Jenny and Dan both divorced with children and middle aged are dating, grabbing opportunities to see each other as and when they can around the constraints of single parenthood! That is until they are presented with an unexpected surprise and things suddenly change!
Combining ex partners, pets and children in a hilarious but totally relatable way, depicting all the up and downs emotionally, geographically and practically that blended families bring to the table!
Great characters particularly the children, fantastically accurate illustrations of a combined families life and a fast paced storyline make for a great read! Would love to read a sequel!
Thank you netgalley for this early read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to Netgalley & Orion Dash!

Jenny and Dan are both divorced parents of two when they meet at a school event. Something sparks between them and they soon find themselves juggling dating, parenting, and intrusive exes. A surprise pushes their relationship to the next level and they find themselves living together as one big family of six.

Just the Six of Us is a sweet, second chance romance that gives a realistic look into the “goods and bads” of blending families. The author shows the trials of merging two households and how it affects not only the parents but the children as well. The children are shown with a range of emotion which I’ve seen to be true in these kinds of circumstances. It’s nice to read a love story about 40 somethings in a new stage of life. Most romances seem to focus on couples in their 20’s which isn't always relatable.

This is the first book that I have read from author Laurie Ellingham but I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley and Orion Dash in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Gosh this was just lovely! It’s so unusual to see a RomCom with MCs that aren’t single 22 year olds, and I LOVED it! This is a goofy blended family RomCom featuring mature MCs and it’s such a nice change of pace from most RomComs out there! I love Jenny and Dan, and I really enjoyed watching them figure out their new lives together. It was so nice to see parenthood depicted in such a realistic way. Parenthood is messy and stressful yet full of so much love and this story represented all sides! This was a super quick and easy read as well. It didn’t take me very long at all!

5 stars oh my god!!! This was so lovely. There was so many heartfelt moments between the family and I just love them very much. Six main characters could be considered a lot (at least for me) but I was impressed by how the author was able to make me feel invested in every single one of them! I love all the characters improvement, it was done very nicely.

Dan and Jenny are the best parents. And the kids. My god. Amelia, Jack, Ethan, and Bryony are the cutest kids ever. I like how different each of their personalities are and I just want to give them a big hug. This book is so good. Just. 5 stars. *chef’s kiss* mwah.

A fun summer read with a different premise to the usual chicklit novels that you take with you to the beach, one that those of us are step parents can empathise with too

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley and it’s my favourite find from there so far!
I was discussing with a friend recently how not many books feature couples in their 40’s - well this one does it with amazing results.
It’s relatable, realistic, sweet and full of humour.
Anyone who has been part of a blended family or attempted dating around childcare schedules and which nights the kids are sleeping where will totally get this. 🤣 However I think it will appeal to everyone regardless - as the characters are so lovable! Even Hulk the Guinea Pig!

Growing up, one of my favorite movies was The Parent Trap. You know the one, with Lindsay Lohan. This book gave me those nostalgic feels when I read the blurb. I was excited to dig in!

As a step child in a big family of step siblings, I felt this book was relatable and full of the fun mischief siblings can get into. It was nice to read the parents' side of things, which was surprising, as I don't normally enjoy romance for couples above my own age range (30s). You can't help but love them and want to root for them throughout the ups and downs of the story. Are second chances actually possible? You'll have to read to find out

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the chance to read an advance copy of “Just the Six of Us.” I really enjoyed this sweet second chance love story that really focused on the family Jenny and Dan were trying to build. By the end, I was just hoping for more stories about this family. I also loved the adorable cover and thought it captured the mood of the story well. I would definitely recommend this book!
