When I requested an arc by John Waters I wasn't expecting a cozy and heartwarming story. I got a darkly humorous, over the top, and crazy story that I loved.
It's one of the craziest story i read and loved every moment of it.
So go and read it if you love John Waters.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Where do I start! I guess it stands up to its marketing...
A perfectly perverted "feel-bad" romance
And it's also a bit bonkers too.
But then it's John Waters. My first introduction to him being the brilliant film Cry Baby. So, whenever I found it all a bit too much, I remembered who I was reading and carried on. Fine line between genius and madness and this book skirts that - a lot! So bad it's brilliant also springs to mind...
We first meet Marsha when she is on a heist with her "partner" Daryl. This time they are stealing suitcases from airport carousels. But she gets rumbled and they are forced to split. Marsha doesn't really mind as it was their one year anniversary and he was looking for his payday. He is not happy as his payday was, shall we just say, a bit "benefit in kind".
And so begins the most farcical, bonkers, hilarious romp have read in a long while. Possibly ever! Daryl teaming up with various of Marsha's family in trying to get to her, and Marsha trying to evade Daryl and the law.
This book is not going to win any literary prizes any time soon as it is a bit too far out of the box. It will also lose readers along the way. Ones that can't get their heads around trampoline antics and talking body-parts. But in my opinion, if you stick to the book, there is a story, one that will make sense at the end. With a delightful journey to get there - albeit definitely bonkers, tongue in cheek, irreverent, camp, and a whole host of other similar descriptions. Me I had a blast...
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Marsha Sprinkle: Suitcase thief. Scammer. Master of disguise. Dogs and children hate her. Her own family wants her dead. She's smart, she's desperate, she's disturbed, and she's on the run with a big chip on her shoulder. They call her "Liarmouth" - until one insane man makes her tell the truth. Such a wonderful book. Utterly unique, exquisitely crafted and quietly powerful.

This is a filthy tale of sex, crime, and family dysfunction. Marsha Sprinkle is a suitcase thief, smart, disturbed and she's on the run. Billed as a feel-bad romance. I can't argue with that.

Firstly, I love John Waters. He is so extreme and so ridiculous to be fabulous. It has everything to make you feel uncomfortable and it's quite stunning. It is so unbelievable to be good although it’s not a book for those of a nervous disposition. Take note, this book is so bad it's brilliant but only for those of us warped enough to read it. You have been warned.
