I have loved everything I have read by Susannah Nix so far and Star Bright is no exception! This book falls somewhere between a novella and a full-length novel-- it only took me a few hours to read and I devoured it in one sitting! Readers should know this is a shorter book and involves some aspects of insta-love as well. Kimberleigh is a Hollywood starlet doing her absolute best to stay interesting enough that people want her in movies and tv shows, but cold enough that nobody comes too close. She needs to protect herself and her image if she wants to make it in the industry. Spencer is a celebrity reporter who is trying to make it in the cutthroat field, while also trying to be a good guy. These two have a past history of conflict, but after a special moment, one night can they get past their differences and explore their mutual attraction? Or, are they destined to burn out quickly? Read this book if you love short, sweet, and steamy romances that will have you hooked from page 1! The characters are lovable and the writing is very engaging.

This was an easy to read novella, though I was hoping more enemies-to-lovers vibes between Kimberleigh and Spencer, given the marketing. I would class this more of an insta-love story as they are friends/smitten within the first few chapters. Nevertheless, this is a quick, light read that I enjoyed.

This is definitely gripping, one-sit read, enjoyable novella! I expecting more enemies to lovers troupe but it quickly turned into angsty- second chances romance between A list actress and her arch nemesis reporter!

The beginning of Kimberleigh and Spencer’s love story was truly instant! One moment they hate each other’s guts. Then very intimate moment they shared in a room: they become fast friends and they find themselves in the bed.

Thankfully after insta love style opening, the book’s direction has changed. I loved the characters’ evolving and the realistic approach to the struggles of having intimate relationship in the entertainment industry. Both Kimberleigh and Spencer have their own baggages and secrets. The representation of mental health issues is also realistic!

After the insta love theme opening I was thinking to give three stars but then the rest of the story’s progression was absolutely so much better! I even thought to give five stars at the angsty moments!

Overall: it was so much likable, easy to read, great romance option to heal our lonely souls!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Haver Street Press for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

I love enemies to lovers so I requested star bright immediately. While I still really enjoyed this, it felt a lot more like insta love then enemies to lovers. They’re good friends within like 20 pages after he calms her down from a panic attack. This was a quick, enjoyable read. My favorite part was actually the big fight they had and the angst & fluff that followed. I thought it was well done and made sense for both their characters. I liked that the story was unique and mental health was represented! I’d recommend if you like short & sweet romcoms
